I am deeply saddened to learn of the death of Lord Trimble earlier today. He was a giant of British and international politics and will be long remembered for his intellect, personal bravery and fierce determination to change politics for the better.

Cathy Brokenshire and Fiona Castle spoke to @BBCBreakfast about how #lungcancer devastated both their lives and why it can't go on any more. We #needtoscreen for lung cancer. We need to save more lives.

This has been an excellent debate this afternoon - quite a contrast to the rest of the week - and a fitting remembrance of our dear friend Sir David says Dame Eleanor Laing

And that’s a wrap - just myself and @DavidRutley bringing the curtain down on this session of Parliament before returning in September. We discussed no fault benefit debts, thanks to @CPAGUK’s early warning system,

Many thanks to @eleanor4epping for overseeing the two Davids!

🗣️I am going to be speaking in the Sir David Amess Adjournment debate today. Sir David was such an enthusiastic participant in the debates and lobbied extremely hard for issues in the constituency. I hope to uphold his legacy, and continue to raise issues for Southend West💙

I was delighted to once again be able to host the annual celebration of Persian New Year in Parliament and be joined by constituents and members of the Anglo-Iranian community.

Last week we were delighted to welcome MP Dr Matthew Offord to our diagnostic hub at Brent Cross where he was shown around the facility, met our chief executive @Kupermar and staff running the hub, and even got to try out some of the latest testing equipment we use there.

Unfortunately, at the weekend I tested positive for COVID-19. I am recovering well at home thanks to my double vaccinations.

Regrettably this means that I was unable to vote and was unable to secure a proxy for the important votes on the Environment Bill this evening.

As an environmentalist and frequent user of our waterways and seas, I'm proud to be supporting this Bill.

I also found this picture of me with David and @Offord4Hendon back in 2019 in Tirana. David was always a joy to be with and so many of us will miss him.

I am deeply shocked and so very sad at the death of my friend and colleague David Amess.

Sir David was a kind man, a hardworking constituency MP and exemplary parliamentarian.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family. He will be sorely missed.

Great to see vice chairs @thisischerilyn, @Offord4Hendon scrutinizing water CEOs on their sewage pollution record and future plans.
Welcome support for #NatureBasedSolutions🌳🌊 but disappointing not to hear CEOs commit to plough profits into ending river pollution

Disappointed to be unable to attend today’s leaseholder rally in Westminster. However, I remain committed to fighting to protect leaseholders from historic fire safety costs. #LeaseholdersTogether

@KerryMP and @Offord4Hendon warn the UK must not leave small island states off the map at COP26 🗺️

Although there are measures in the #BuildingSafetyBill that are to be welcomed, there is a great deal more required and I will be looking for amendments that better protect leaseholders.
