Puthandu Vazthukal to all Tamils and a happy Aluth Avurudda to all Sinhalese people.

New Year marks a new lease of life as we recognise the outstanding contribution of these communities in the UK and around the world.

I would like to wish a very Happy #Nowruz  to all my constituents celebrating.

I was delighted to once again be able to host the annual celebration of Persian New Year in Parliament and be joined by constituents and members of the Anglo-Iranian community.

Last week we were delighted to welcome MP Dr Matthew Offord to our diagnostic hub at Brent Cross where he was shown around the facility, met our chief executive @Kupermar and staff running the hub, and even got to try out some of the latest testing equipment we use there.

Also confirmed:

• Urgent question from @Offord4Hendon: "To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if she will make a statement on the IOPC report on Metropolitan Police officers' conduct at Charing Cross police station."

Today, #HolocaustMemorialDay, we remember all the victims of the Holocaust and vow we will never let it happen again.

We will continue to fight antisemitism, hatred and prejudice whenever and wherever they occur.

Delighted to join Cllr Helene Richman and Barnet Mayor Alison Cornelius at West Hendon's first Christmas Carols. Capturing the spirit of Christmas, it is hoped this will be an annual event.

Thank you to Cllr Richman for organizing and CaféGenic for their hospitality.

Thank you @Offord4Hendon for asking a question in the @HouseofCommons about the peace talks for the reunification of #Cyprus
Clear response from Minister @morton_wendy, reaffirming the UK’s commitment to a bizonal, bicommunal federal solution in line with @UN parameters

They are here. Read the McPartlandSmith amendments to Report Stage of the Building Safety Bill. Unfortunately, at the weekend I tested positive for COVID-19. I am recovering well at home thanks to my double vaccinations.

Regrettably this means that I was unable to vote and was unable to secure a proxy for the important votes on the Environment Bill this evening.

Today @PutneyFleur introduced a Bill to prohibit the manufacture and sale of wet wipes containing plastic.

As an environmentalist and frequent user of our waterways and seas, I'm proud to be supporting this Bill.

A pleasure to visit St Matthias @ChurchColindale today to celebrate the anniversary of the Dedication of the Parish Church and blessing of the new Shrine of Saint Mellitus.

Thank you to Tom, Managing Director of @TLRailUK, for updates on timetables and step-free access at Mill Hill Broadway station. I understand plans are being finalised and I look forward to receiving a further update at the end of the year.

I also found this picture of me with David and @Offord4Hendon back in 2019 in Tirana. David was always a joy to be with and so many of us will miss him.

I am deeply shocked and so very sad at the death of my friend and colleague David Amess.

Sir David was a kind man, a hardworking constituency MP and exemplary parliamentarian.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family. He will be sorely missed.

Great to see vice chairs @thisischerilyn, @Offord4Hendon scrutinizing water CEOs on their sewage pollution record and future plans.
Welcome support for #NatureBasedSolutions🌳🌊 but disappointing not to hear CEOs commit to plough profits into ending river pollution
@CommonsEAC

Disappointed to be unable to attend today’s leaseholder rally in Westminster. However, I remain committed to fighting to protect leaseholders from historic fire safety costs. #LeaseholdersTogether

Good luck to all students in the Hendon constituency receiving their A level and vocational results today!

Also a huge thank you to teachers and school staff who have worked incredibly hard throughout this challenging academic year.

@KerryMP and @Offord4Hendon warn the UK must not leave small island states off the map at COP26 🗺️

Although there are measures in the #BuildingSafetyBill that are to be welcomed, there is a great deal more required and I will be looking for amendments that better protect leaseholders.

Glad to hear from @VictoriaPrentis that follow-up work is ongoing to understand if there were any underlying issues to explain the Minke whale's unusual presence in the Thames.

Thanks to @Offord4Hendon for asking this Q. It's vital we learn lessons to prevent future tragedies.

Fascinating to visit the StoneX Stadium mass #vaccination centre in my constituency today. Very impressed with the facilities and the way in which the centre is run. @RoyalFreeNHS
