The government has announced it will repeal the Strikes (Minimum Service Levels) Act to rebuild relations with industry through strong but fair negotiation 👉 https://www.gov.uk/government/news/public-services-back-on-track-as-strikes-act-to-be-repealed

Good to catch up with Michael from the @wearethentia to discuss current issues facing the night time economy and the support the sector needs.

There will be a reckoning for criminals & thugs who took part in violence on streets, burning buildings, attacks on mosques, looting shops & the whipping up of racist violence online.

They do not speak for Britain & they’ll pay the price for their crime.

The Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry has contacted all current sub-postmasters to ask them to share their experiences of the Post Office. I’d encourage anyone eligible to contribute to this important research by the deadline – this Friday 9th August.

Good to meet today with John Bowker, the new CEO of
@SouthwayHousing. We had a constructive discussion on issues in the community, repair work and developments in the constituency.

I utterly condemn the far-right thuggery we have seen this weekend.

Be in no doubt: those who have participated in this violence will face the full force of the law.

Good to meet with Laura and Bekele from @Prog_Change to discuss their campaign on improving statutory sick pay.

Labour is committed to making work pay and will legislate to introduce a new deal for working people to ban exploitative practices and enhance employment rights.

Good to meet with @NAT_AIDS_Trust and @THTorguk in Parliament to discuss practical ways to reach our shared goal of ending new cases of HIV in the UK by 2030.

(2/2) Any postmaster who thinks they are eligible for this scheme can come forward and register. We know that every case is different, and that's why there are multiple ways to seek redress.

(1/2) This outrageous miscarriage of justice continues to impact sub postmaster and their families. I hope today’s new redress scheme brings some relief to postmasters who have waited far too long to get back the money that is rightfully theirs.

It was good to hold a celebration event in @TheFletcherMoss for everyone who helped achieve a great result for Labour. As well as our win in Manchester Withington, our local volunteers worked hard to help elect @Tim_Roca as MP for Macclesfield – thanks to Tim for joining us.

We’re getting straight to work on fulfilling our manifesto pledge to bring our railways into public ownership.

Labour will end the managed decline of our railways and deliver reliable rail services that are fit for the future. Proud to support these plans.

This Labour Government promised to put politics back into the service of people. Today we've legislated to tighten the rules on MPs’ second jobs and to set up a modernisation committee, improving the culture and driving up standards in Parliament.

This week we deliver two manifesto pledges to restore trust in politics and Parliament

✅ immediate action on MPs second jobs
✅establishing a modernisation committee to raise standards, culture and improve working practices.
