Today we have suspended negotiations with this Israeli government on a new free trade agreement.

It is not possible to advance these discussions with a government that is pursuing egregious policies in the West Bank and Gaza.

My statement 👇🏿

We’re not just building houses. We’re building places to call home.

It’s how we’ll rebuild the foundations of a good life for everyone.

Great to be back in Leeds at @UKREiiF today

Today we announced our latest housing figures which show we exceeded our targets for 2024/25, including enabling the completion of more than 36,000 homes.

🚨NEW: The Great British Energy Bill has been passed by Parliament.

The first publicly-owned energy company in over 70 years.

A domestic clean power champion, owned by the British people, for the British people.

Historic day.

After months of negotiations, I can announce that the Labour Government has secured a new agreement with the EU.

🇬🇧Good for jobs
🇬🇧Good for bills
🇬🇧Good for borders
And more…

Britain back on the world stage, with a Government in the service of working people.

If Russia is unwilling to come to the negotiating table, Putin must pay the price.

Speaking to @POTUS, we are closely aligning our response to Russia's unacceptable position.

Today's growth figures show the strength and potential of the UK economy.

Against a backdrop of global uncertainty we are making the right choices in the national interest.

But there is more to do, we will go further and faster to make working people better off.

I’m really pleased that Neale Coleman CBE will Chair the Oxford Growth Commission.

I look forward to working with Neale and other national and local partners to unlock and accelerate the delivery of essential housing and infrastructure in the city.

City Hall’s new position will be to actively explore the release of parts of London’s green belt for development.

We'll be working with councils and others to secure as many new homes as we can on brownfield sites, but this alone will not be enough to meet our needs.

Cutty Sark DLR station will temporarily close from 31 May. This is to replace the escalators.

There are plenty of other ways to get to Greenwich Town Centre by bus, train and river.

Customers will need to check before they travel. The station will reopen in spring 2026.

The threat Russia poses to our national security cannot be underestimated.

To ramp up the pressure on Putin, I’m announcing the largest package of sanctions yet.

I will always do what it takes to safeguard working people.

Security at home. Strength abroad.

While in Bristol it was great to tour the Temple Quarter.

This regeneration project has huge potential to deliver homes, jobs and better transport infrastructure.

Progress is being made but government can do more to support transformational growth and great placemaking.

In dealing with appeals, national infrastructure applications, and examining local plans, the Planning Inspectorate has an integral role to play in delivering the government’s Plan for Change.

A pleasure to visit @PINSgov in Bristol today to thank staff for all their work.

It’s not hyperbole to argue that the housing crisis in London has become a genuine emergency.

I commend @MayorofLondon for his leadership in bringing forward plans to release low-quality grey belt land in the capital and for exploring bold solutions to ramp up housing delivery.

We cannot end the housing crisis and build the 1.5m homes we need without London.

Today the Mayor is setting out bold plans to release grey belt land, and is rising to the challenge of tackling London’s housing crisis.

Happy Hanukkah to all those celebrating in Greenwich and Woolwich and beyond.

May the coming days bring peace and joy to you and your loved ones.

Chag Sameach!

Wishing everyone a very happy Christmas.

A special thank you to all those who will be working over the holidays to protect, help and serve our communities.

As we come together to celebrate the hope and joy of this special season, I wish you a very happy Christmas.

The Christmas story reminds us to care and look after those around us — I send my heartfelt thanks to those who are spending Christmas serving others.

Our Plan for Change will tackle the housing crisis & deliver the infrastructure we need to grow our economy & support public services.

We’ll bring forward more underused & overpriced land for development by reforming outdated compulsory purchase rules. 👇🏻

To bring forward more underused and overpriced land for development, we intend to further reform compulsory purchase.

The consultation we’ve published today seeks views on changes to streamline the process and capture more land value for public benefit 👇🏻

This government is supporting frontline workers provide essential services to get rough sleepers off the streets and into secure housing. I recently visited ⁦⁦@crisis_uk⁩ warehouse with ⁦@AngelaRayner⁩ to meet volunteers who are helping people rebuild their lives.

We’ve announced historic funding to turn the tide on homelessness.

This week I had the pleasure of visiting a @Crisis_UK team, and this funding will help them to continue delivering their life-changing work.

A major deal to bring Armed Forces housing estate back into public ownership has been agreed by the government.

This landmark deal will bring the military housing estate back into public hands and unlocks new-build housing projects for military families plus essential… https://x.com/i/web/status/1869416214126362959

We are determined to shift power out of Westminster to Mayors, Councils and the communities they serve.

🚨 NEW: Labour introduces the Children's Wellbeing & Schools Bill

Children growing up in our country deserve the best start in life.

That’s why we’re strengthening safeguarding measures, to prevent children falling through the cracks.

Introducing effective new mechanisms for cross-boundary strategic planning is an integral part of the government’s housing and planning agenda.

More detail on our proposed approach can be found in the English Devolution White Paper published today 👇🏻

Our Plan for Change will make the UK a clean energy superpower:

Boosting energy security, protecting billpayers against price spikes and the whims of dictators like Putin.

Creating jobs both now and in the future.

Delivering for working people.

The Tories pitted housing against nature, recklessly trying to weaken protections while still failing to unblock development.

Labour will unlock a win-win for the economy and nature to build the homes and infrastructure Britain needs.👇🏻

When it comes to sustainable housing development and nature recovery, the status quo isn’t working.

The government is seeking views on a new approach that will allow us to deliver a win-win for both and overcome challenges such as nutrient neutrality 👇🏻

.@mtpennycook has written to RTPI President Lindsey Richards describing his enormous respect for the planning profession.

The letter also contains commitments to help enhance the capacity of local planning authorities

"We are forever in debt to those brave souls who fought to defend this country, and who made the ultimate sacrifice.”

Today, on Remembrance Sunday, we will remember them.

#LestWeForget

This weekend we come together to honour the service and sacrifice of those who fought and died for our country.

A privilege today to take part in Remembrance Day services at Maze Hill, St. John's Blackheath, Charlton Village and Charlton cemetery.

We will remember them.

The government is determined to ensure that homes will be there for heroes.

This morning @AlistairCarns and I hosted organisations who provide housing and support for veterans to discuss the steps we are taking to help all those who served and are in housing need.

I’d like to thank Peter Freeman and Peter Denton for their leadership at @HomesEngland over recent years.

The process of recruiting a new Chair will start next week and an interim Chief Executive will be confirmed shortly.

Congratulations @kevinhollinrake on your appointment.

We will disagree strongly about many aspects of housing and planning policy but I know you recognise the urgent need to tackle the housing crisis and boost economic growth.

I look forward to working with you.

Clean power by 2030 is achievable, cheaper, and makes our country more secure.

Expert analysis backs our policy and its benefits for the country. Defeatist critics should take note

My piece today 👇

A pleasure to represent the government at the @G7 in Rome to discuss approaches to sustainable urban development with our partners.

Congratulations, @KemiBadenoch, on becoming the Conservative Party’s new leader.

The first Black leader of a Westminster party is a proud moment for our country.

I look forward to working with you and your party in the interests of the British people.
