Great progress on work to improve Flint station. The run-down building on platform 1 is being brought back into good repair and will be for community use, the ticket office has had a spruce up, & the fully accessible bridge with lifts is in. @networkrail @transport_wales

We were proud to unveil a touching tribute to a much-loved colleague at Steel 4 Structures last week. The Voortman Robotic Fabricator has been named ‘The Big Joe’ in memory of Joe Kavanagh.
A great company going from strength to strength.

On Saturday I enjoyed a catch up with everyone at Airbus Broughton at their Friends and Family Day. ✈️👨‍👧‍👧

Last week I visited Flint train station with Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Transport and North Wales Ken Skates. He outlined plans to increase rail capacity and improve passenger safety on the North Wales Mainline.
Work on making the station fully accessible is ongoing.

Last week I visited Convatec’s site in Deeside, which employs more than 650 people. I was very impressed to see the level of investment that Convatec continues to make in UK life sciences manufacturing here in Deeside.

I’m devastated for the 200-plus workers and their families. I’m continuing to work with @UniteWales and @WelshGovernment to support those who are losing their jobs as much as possible.

PCSOs Jacqui Pleszak & Tom Maddocks held their monthly Cuppa with a Copper event at Ty Calon today. The drop-in is held at a different community location each month, and is a great chance to get advice on issues and pick up some crime prevention tips.

I was pleased to pop in to the White Lion, Buckley, yesterday to meet the team. It's great to see the pub under new management and doing so well. Lots of great events for the community going on too.

On Tuesday I met with @UniteWales to discuss issues around the consultation on closing Flint's Kimberly-Clark site. I’ve been working to set up a meeting with Kimberly-Clark and have today been able to set a date of 18th July. A further update will be made after this.

UPDATE: I was in contact with Kimberly-Clark yesterday and received a prompt response. If I am successful in the election on July 4 I will meet with the company the following week.
Saving these jobs is an absolute priority for me.

This is deeply concerning news. I’ve written today to Kimberly-Clark requesting an urgent meeting. These are hundreds of valuable jobs that we need to keep in Flint.
Hopefully, if we have a Labour Government on July 5, we can find a way through this.
