I first lobbied for Wolverhampton to be included in #B2022 back in 2020. I’m delighted that today, the Cycling Time Trial will begin and end in West Park. Many people have worked to make BHAM 2022 a great experience, and today our city will be put under a well-deserved spotlight.

This is a brilliant step forward and I congratulate all involved in securing this deal. These monitors will drastically improve the lives of those with type-1 diabetes and relieve pressure on NHS hospitals 👏

Recently, I visited Parkdale West to meet Leasa, the coordinator of the Parkdale street watch, as well as Parkdale residents to talk to them about their issues and experiences maintaining the grounds and gardens. 1/3

Walking in to work for my final day before heading back to Wolverhampton for recess.

It is fair to say that this year has been full on, a lot to reflect on.

I am humbled to be involved in such an important time for our country. I wonder what the rest of the year looks like

Incredible news that we've administered 150 MILLION Covid jabs across the UK. 💉

I’m pleased to support ASB Awareness Week 2022, which highlights the vital importance of working together to cut crime, support victims, and better protect our communities. Despite investment, too many residents are still affected by crime, including anti-social behaviour. 1/3

🧵With temperatures rising and highs of around 40 degrees forecast in some areas today, here are eight things we can all do to stay safe during the #heatwave.

A thread 👇

#Heatwave2022 #HeatwaveUK

We're experiencing some very hot weather - it's important that we:

☀️ Look after the vulnerable and the elderly
☀️ Look for signs of heat exhaustion + heat stroke
☀️ Stay out of the sun if possible until 3pm

Learn more about how to keep cool:

⚠️ A @MetOffice Red Extreme Heat warning is in place for parts of England today ⚠️

🔴 Keep out of the sun during the hottest part of the day
🔴 Be aware of symptoms of heat exhaustion
🔴 Drink plenty of fluids and avoid excess alcohol

More #heatwave tips 👇

We're urging the public to take three simple steps to protect themselves, and their family and friends, during the upcoming high temperatures:

💧Drink plenty of water
⛱️ Seek shade
🧢 Cover up

We’re also putting in extra capacity in the coming days to support the NHS.

I chaired a COBR meeting today to make sure we are ready for the extreme heat coming next week.

Our public services are ready with contingency measures to support you as the mercury rises, but remember to keep cool, stay hydrated and check on vulnerable friends and neighbours.
