Delighted the Government has confirmed it will scrap the Golborne Link. Having made the case strongly against since its inception, I'm extremely pleased for my constituents who would have been affected:

Very welcome news that a more positive outlook for travel means that Manchester Airport is now recruiting for a range of job opportunities. If you are interested, they are running a virtual jobs fair next Tues 25th Jan 👇

Remembering Chapel Street, Altrincham in the House of Commons Garden of Remembrance: described as ‘The Bravest Little Street in England’ by King George V, after so many volunteered to serve.
My tribute in the House of Commons to the late Sir David Amess.
Aviation and travel is hugely important to the UK. After an extremely difficult year, these sectors are now in real need of clarity and certainty on a roadmap to a safe return.
Today I voted against the extension of emergency powers under the Coronavirus Act until October. A year on we now risk normalising extreme policy responses and an attitude that our fundamental liberties exist for authorities to either grant or withhold.
🗣️ @cambridgeunion students agree with me that lockdown is a mistake:
During lockdown 👇
❌ Child abuse referrals up 43%
❌ Long-term harm on all children
Essential we get children back to school as quickly as we can #road2recovery
Delighted to speak @cambridgeunion debate last night on lockdown. Even more delighted with the result - 54% felt lockdown was a mistake. I will continue to argue for a more balanced policy, whatever the platform.
Thank you to all our speakers and to all those who watched last night!
The results were: 362 ayes, 309 noes and 5 abstention. https://twitter.com/cambridgeunion/status/1354753069079261185
Standing up for jobs at Manchester Airport & across the country.
Today I voiced my concerns about this latest lockdown to the Prime Minister, urging him to allow parliamentary approval for each month that the government want the lockdown to be in place.
Tonight I am voting against new Coronavirus tier restrictions. In the absence of a cost benefit analysis of lockdown, clarity about Trafford's allocation to - and exit from - Tier 3 and sufficient justification for removal of fundamental freedoms, I have no choice but to oppose.
Proud of my friend Sir Charles Walker MP.
MP Charles Walker fuming as elderly protester bundled into the back of a police van outside Parliament
In response to the news we are returning to a tier system on 3rd Dec, I asked the PM & Secretary of State to publish both the assessment of the economic impact of these continued restrictions as well the criteria used to allocate tiers. #CovidRecoveryGroup
Thank you for volunteering at this important act of remembrance. A job well done Kai.
Well done to AGSB Senior Prefect Kai S, who did a fantastic job playing the Last Post this morning at the Garden of Remembrance, Altrincham #LestWeForget
This afternoon - ahead of the vote on national lockdown - I took one final opportunity to stress the huge implications for our economy, our health and perhaps most importantly of all, our fundamental rights and freedoms.
In response to the latest lockdown announcement I have asked the PM to publish a full impact-assessment for the economy and physical/mental health. It is vital that we are fully informed about the impacts of another lockdown ahead of a vote on Wednesday.
Grateful to both Secretary of State @MattHancock and the Speaker. My amendment may not have been selected but my concerns – shared by colleagues and the public – have been heard: more Parliamentary involvement promised in decisions re Covid regulations going forward.” #Covid19UK

I agree. Latest update for Trafford says ‘infections continue to be at a low level’...
‘Greater Manchester’ is not one homogeneous area. We must always err on the side of caution with Covid, but to treat all 10 boroughs the same is not the right approach. I will update constituents as soon as I am given further information, other than what has been announced.
Very best wishes Lesley and thank you for all that you have done, Graham
The first of many farewells to our wonderful principal @lesleyjdavies ...a socially distanced au revoir, until we can get (closer) together for a real leaving do ! @TraffordCollege @stock_college

Delighted to share this letter after my media comments and questions to the Chancellor last week re @altrinchammkt - grants to small businesses not paying their business rates directly.
Big step in the right direction and shows Government is responding to feedback.
@SirGrahamBrady Thank you sir Graham today I also purchased Trafford sound and am relocating the equipment to my unit in Sale Square and renaming it hope radio I hope you will open the station when we go live
A special mention to @Bigcheesydj Rick Andrews and his volunteers running the ‘Local Bakers for our Heroes” who have been organising cake making for caregivers, residents and our emergency services. A huge thank you to everyone involved! #ThankYouThursday
Building on my article in @MailOnline at weekend, I directly asked the Chancellor to look for common sense opportunities to support local business when lifting restrictions:
▪️ Supporting open-air markets like @altrinchammkt
▪️ Flexible furlough scheme to allow partial returns

Happy to confirm that rumours of Altrincham Minor Injuries Unit closing down are untrue:
Head of MUNFT Sir Mike Deegan told me “we appreciate how important this service is to our local community and I can confirm that we have no plans to close the unit.” ✅#altrincham #NHS
Today I asked the Prime Minister if he will review the need for both the planned Golborne Spur and Davenport Green Station aspects of HS2 - a waste of money, nonsensical placement and damage to ancient woodland. Very pleased that he has confirmed he will. #HS2 👇
Meeting with Rachel Giles of @CheshireWT at ancient woodland in Davenport Green that would be destroyed if the current planned route for HS2 were to proceed ❌#HS2
Huge congratulations to Altrincham Interchange for winning the @OfficialTfGM award at Cheshire's Best Kept Stations 2019! Yet another recognition of the hard work that has gone into transforming Altrincham - well done to everyone concerned! #altrincham

Today James Grundy MP, @MrAndy_Carter and I wrote to the Sec of State for Transport to request the immediate scrapping of the ‘Golborne spur’ portion of HS2. Regardless of the Government’s decision on HS2, the Spur should be scrapped - it's costly, damaging and pointless. #HS2 👇
It was a pleasure, really good questions, great to see young people taking an interest in politics and democracy. I look forward to future visits.
thank you @SirGrahamBrady for coming to speak to students @AGGSchool Politics Society today. We hope you will come in again! Thanks to Politics Society for organising!
A privilege to chair the AGM of the wonderful @AltrinchamG Garrick Theatre and pay tribute to some of the fantastic volunteers who make it such a success🎭#Altrincham
Yesterday I met with the new GM group of Conservative MPs to discuss:
✅ Protecting the green belt
✅ Upgrading transport
✅ Improving policing in Greater Manchester
and many more issues we will work together on!

Don't forget to have your say today on the future of bus services in Manchester. My priorities:
🚌 Simpler, contactless, integrated fares across all modes of transport.
🚌 Bus services that are responsive to specific local needs.

Thank you so much to everyone who supported me.
Huge privilege to represent my home town.
Sincerely hope we can now move on from the bitterness and personal animosity that's dogged politics recently - I will represent every one of my constituents.

Sir Graham Brady calls for an end to “bitterness and rancour” after retaining #Altrincham and Sale West for the Conservatives for the seventh time.

Well done Mussadak, delighted to be able to help!
1/2 My very first Parliamentary election has concluded. I've been part of a fantastic campaign. I thank my agent Mike Cornes and my local MP @SirGrahamBrady for their valuable advice. I also thank @TimperleyWard and @LauraWirral for their tremendous support.
