Garden villages and towns are perfect examples of the vibrant, green communities we want to see right across the country and today’s funding will allow us to work hand-in-hand with local leaders and industry to deliver the high-quality new homes that we need.
Housing Minister @StuartAndrew visited Long Marston development to see how investing in Garden Communities will help level up the country, regenerate underused land and create beautiful new communities.

We're extending support for neighbourhood planning groups, increasing funding by over £8m to £40m in total.
This new funding will support the government’s plan to level up the country by empowering communities to make decisions on future development in their area.
Good news! @luhc is extending the four-year #NeighbourhoodPlanning support programme (which was due to end this month) by a year. The new end date is now March 2023.

Transforming derelict brownfield sites into vibrant places where people want to live and work is a key part of our mission to level up the country - and something I have supported my entire career.
During a visit to the West Midlands last week, I saw just how government money is helping breathe new life into our towns and cities🔽
Appalling misinformation at a time of international crisis.
This is simply untrue.

It is totally immoral that the Home Office is still applying normal visa restrictions to those fleeing Ukraine.
The Government must urgently provide a simple sanctuary route to the UK for all who need it. This is our moral duty.

My thoughts are with his family at this time.
I am so deeply saddened to hear of the passing of James Brokenshire.
A wonderful colleague, I had the pleasure of working with James on a number of occasions. He was unfailingly the most charming, kind, and generous of individuals. My thoughts are with his whole family.
Today is the day of the House of Lords and Commons match at Pudsey St Lawrence cricket club. It should be a great event with some famous faces attending. It’s free so please do go along and enjoy. Sadly, due to commitments in Westminster it now looks like I won’t be back in time.
Out with the team again today delivering my newspaper.
