Delays to the NHS Transformation Programme in Shropshire are holding back hospital services. Patients in South Shropshire should not have to wait even longer. The PM agrees we need not only to level up, but speed up, decision making process.

It was great to visit @TidewayLondon with CEN MPs @Dunne4Ludlow and @JamesDavies this morning to see a section of London's new 25km super sewer and to learn about how the project came to fruition 🌊

Following recent Westminster debates on sewage overflows and water quality, today we welcomed @Dunne4Ludlow and @JamesDavies together with members of the @CEN_HQ on a visit to the #SuperSewer site at Blackfriars.

I've been pleased to work with Members on all sides of the House who share my passion for rivers, & I paid tribute many opposition MPs today. But I won’t let that consensus be undermined for short term political campaigning, & will call it out when I see it.

Very pleased to open today’s Backbench Business debate on the Strategic Policy Statement for Ofwat. We have a real opportunity to rebalance water companies’ priorities towards the environment, tackling sewage pollution in our rivers and waterways:

Terrific effort by Ackleton Community Group who encouraged almost every house in the village to dress up magnificently to celebrate Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee

Hoping everyone in South Shropshire enjoys the extended Bank Holiday weekend to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Look forward to joining lots of local Jubilee events over the weekend!

Really disappointed Barclays have chosen to abandon South Shropshire customers and will be closing Ludlow and Bridgnorth branches in August. I shall be demanding a meeting with management to seek a rethink.

Today, the Government has reached and exceeded its goal, set in 2017, to see an additional one million more disabled people in work by 2027

New data released today shows that 1.3m more disabled people are in employment, compared to five years ago

Spoke up for wine and beer sellers in @HouseofCommons to ask Exchequer Secretary @Helen_Whately to ensure changes to Alcohol Duty help simplify duty system rather than make more complex and costly to administer.

Latest ONS figures today show unemployment down again locally. With real concerns about the cost of living, very pleased businesses in South Shropshire are continuing to create jobs and give more people the security of a regular paypacket.

Pleased to welcome Sarah Atherton MP and @joeljamesSWC to Ludlow Castle on Friday for the @SIBA01 Wales and West Regional Beer Awards at the start of Ludlow's Spring Festival. Some great beers and other drinks on tap, especially those from Shropshire

Good news - after decades of inaction Government has increased its ambition on water quality. Demonstrating a welcome shift in attitude, Ministers agreed with the majority of the recommendations in our report, Water quality in rivers.

@CommonsEFRA @Ofwat Thank you for inviting our Chair @Dunne4Ludlow to participate in the pre-appointment hearing. As our Water Quality inquiry found, water company practices have a substantial effect on the water in England's rivers: Ofwat has a key role to play in regulating the industry.

We're content with Iain Coucher appointment as the new @Ofwat Chair after our hearing on Wednesday

We did have observations including that he should set out a detailed plan for how @Ofwat will drive improved performance by water companies
