Today the 🇬🇧 parliamentary delegation to #Switzerland discussed the importance of 🇨🇭-🇬🇧 bilateral co-operation on #science and #research, as well as visiting the Bio-Technopark in Schlieren to see #Swiss #biotech #innovation first hand!

I had a fantastic time with the Chorleywood Cubs. It was great to meet such an enthusiastic group of young residents.

I was impressed by the children's debating skills. Toasting marshmallows was a personal highlight as it reminded me of my own time spent in the scouts!

The Prime Minister and @JacindaArdern have agreed a ground-breaking trade deal between the UK and New Zealand:

I am devastated to hear that my friend, Sir David Amess MP, has passed away. My thoughts are with his family and friends at this terrible time.

I will miss David terribly, as will my colleagues. He was an extraordinary man who worked so hard for his community. RIP Sir David.

Today the government and @NHSEngland have published a new plan to help GPs increase face to face appointments so patients can see their GP in person if they want to, no matter where they live. 1/3

It was great to attend the Curry Life Awards to award Mr Ali and the team at the Fat Buddha, Berkhamsted for being shortlisted as the Best Curry Restaurant.

The Fat Buddha has an outstanding local reputation. I am proud to have such a fantastic establishment in my constituency.

It takes courage to talk about mental health and seek support.

We spoke to Veterans and Armed Forces personnel about their experiences.

The past 18 months have been tough for us all. It is more important than ever to know what support is available if you need help.

You never have to feel alone.

It was great to get back to a face-to-face #CPC21 this year. I had the chance to meet with charities and colleagues who I have spoken to virtually throughout the pandemic.

Thank you for talking to me about how we can support the people of South West Hertfordshire together.

I had the pleasure of knowing James Brokenshire throughout my time in politics. He was a charming gentleman who was always available to give advice and direction.

A great loss to his family, his country and our Party. My thoughts are with Cathy and his family. RIP James.

Sunday evening’s Housing Industry Reception was an opportunity for industry leaders to share views on priorities & strategies. The industry faces real challenges but has the vision, energy & talent to meet them. Thanks to @Ben_Everitt and @ChrisPincher for sharing their insights.

🏘️ As chair of the @HousingAPPG I was delighted to visit the Ebury Bridge renewal project in Westminster with @gaganmohindra this afternoon to discuss affordable homes and the housing market

As the daughter of Indian immigrants I was appalled at @UKLabour race-baiting leaflet during the Batley and Spen by-election.

By trying to paint @BorisJohnson as too close to the Prime Minister of India, Labour knew exactly what they were doing.

How can we create jobs, support high streets, improve skills, unlock investment and promote regeneration across the UK?

Our roundtable with @scullyp @gaganmohindra and UK property industry leaders is now live.

Today at PMQs, I raised the issue of partially treated sewage being released into the River Chess and other rivers and chalk streams.

The Prime Minister confirmed his commitment to resolving this issue, having set up the Storm Overflows Taskforce.

I paid tribute to HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh in the House of Commons yesterday. I offer my sincere condolences to Her Majesty the Queen and the Royal Family.

The 12th April is here and the next stage of easing restrictions is happening. Good luck to all businesses opening up today.

Here’s a reminder of the guidance:

It is extremely sad to hear that HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh passed away this morning. He has been an exceptional servant to our country.

My deepest condolences to Her Majesty The Queen and the rest of the Royal Family for their loss.

The APPG is pleased to announce that we will be hosting an executive round-table for industry leaders with @scullyp Minister for Small Business, London and the Retail Sector, on 5th May. The event will be moderated by APPG Chair @gaganmohindra

I've agreed more flexibility in testing for hauliers travelling from the UK to France 🚚. From 11pm tonight, Lorries returning to France from UK having spent less than 48hrs in the UK will NO LONGER require a Coronavirus test. See this + other changes: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/get-a-coronavirus-covid-19-test-if-youre-an-hgv-or-van-driver

Fantastic to join @nhsuk staff as a covid vaccine volunteer this weekend at @graveshambc. 💉💉💉

The vaccine roll out is in full flow so it’s really important we get our communities vaccinated and protected from the virus.

Amazing work by @nadhimzahawi and @MattHancock 🙏

Today is World Cancer Day which has some obvious personal significance this year. I know just how important early diagnosis and treatment can be and what our amazing NHS can do. If you do have any worries or concerns, please please do get them checked out. #WorldCancerDay

Tonight at 6pm we will clap to honour the life of Sir @CaptainTomMoore and all those health workers who he recognised with his fundraising.

#ClapForCaptainTom

I join my colleagues across the House to urge South Asian communities to get the Covid-19 vaccine 💉

Covid-19 has had a disproportionate impact on the UK’s Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities.

Please get the jab when you are invited.

Delighted that we've already exceeded our target to recruit 6,000 more police officers by March.

I want to thank every police force for supporting our great national effort to recruit 20,000 more officers.

Many are out on our streets right now keeping our communities safe.

I am marking #HolocaustMemorialDay by lighting a candle to #LightTheDarkness. Join me and people across the country by lighting a candle in your window.

It is our duty to stand against hatred and prejudice to prevent the same human suffering from happening again.

Today I’ve allocated £175m of funding for cycling 🚴 + walking 🚶 schemes across England, to make local journeys safer and give more people an opportunity to build active travel into their day-to-day lives ✅

This afternoon I asked ⁦@RobertJenrick⁩ if he agreed with me that we should be protecting our Green Belt and prioritise building on brownfield sites

I am proud to support the launch of Bowel Research UK, leading the fight against #bowelcancer and #boweldisease. Providing vital patient-centred research funding, #BRUK is committed to radically improving the lives of people living with bowel disease.

Today is National Police Memorial Day when we remember the sisters and brothers, mums and dads, friends and colleagues, killed doing their duty to us since 1792.

There have been too many.

We salute and remember them this day with profound gratitude.

Response to @jamieoliver’s letter on trade deals…

1. We are not planning to negotiate trade deals that harm farmers and consumers. Suggesting otherwise is entirely misleading.

Honoured to be through to the second round of #WTODG selection process. I look forward to continuing to campaign on the issues that matter to @wto members and making the case for global free trade. My sincere thanks to those have supported my campaign so far. #LiamFoxForWTO
