A healthy ocean is vital to people and the planet 🌍

That’s why at the @UN Ocean Conference we have made several commitments that will help #SaveTheOcean.

Find out what we’ll do:

Economic growth and our citizens being able to live well- that has to be our focus. We found the resources and innovation to fight Covid. We must find the resources and innovation to fight its legacy too.

The resolve and outputs from the #NATOSummit are very welcome. This is what Putin’s vile, illegal war has prompted. We must continue to invest in our own defence and security capabilities. We must ensure Ukraine can finish the job.

Second meeting with a shipbuild firm wanting to come into Portsmouth. Standing by to help. Dockyard work is strong but shipbuilding needs to be back in our offer. I’m never going to give up on this.

Spoke to businesses from across the #CentralSouth area today at @BizSouth’s event in @HouseofCommons about how we really put this area on the map. Love the blurb on Portsmouth in their brochure: we are the most entrepreneurial city in the UK!

Great meeting re new Food Pantry provision progress @PennyMordaunt is funding through proceeds from her #1 best seller @GreaterTheBook

Great to see strong bi-partisan support for a UK-US FTA "that includes ambitious international standards for our shared priorities on climate, labor protections, digital trade, and intellectual property rights.”. Thank you Senators Portman and @chriscoons.

Having led the way on sanctions & defence support for Ukraine 🇺🇦 we are also leading on support for reconstruction:

Large shopping mall in Kremenchuk with hundreds of civilians inside has been hit by a Russian strike. Russia is a disgrace to humanity and it must face consequences. The response should be more heavy arms for Ukraine, more sanctions on Russia, and more businesses leaving Russia.

Thank you @cj_dinenage and for Gosport participation in the Dental Summit. Great to see @mariacaulfield visiting.

Massive effort from my team. Draft action plan to get everyone in our area the dental care they need. Pinged out today to local providers, commissioners, patient organisations, @portsmouthuni, public health and others for final edits. Thank you to everyone who has contributed.

Glad to see @Jeremy_Hunt raising the plight of people with learning/ behavioural disabilities detained in institutions. The Mental Health Bill could be explicit about how inappropriate these referrals are, but what we really need is new care settings created. @BubbCeo @sajidjavid

Paulsgrove looking blooming marvellous today for the Carnival. Thank you to everyone taking part, especially the organisers and stewards. Photos of precession participants in thread. More pics and film to follow. Well done all!

On Armed Forces Day I want to express my gratitude to our amazing Service people, and the families and loved ones who support them, promoting our nation's interests globally. What you do is exceptional. Thank you.

We have problems, but if anyone can solve them, it's us. It's about vision. With freedom, energy, people, money and ideas, we can compete with anybody in the world.

Congratulations to all the apprentices and businesses nominated for @PETA_training awards 2022. Huge achievement to be on the shortlist. Amazing evening celebrating your hard work. @portsmouthnews

Very grateful for my constituents time this morning discussing respite and crisis care for families. We will bring together key local organisations to map out a vision for new services. I will be asking my neighbouring MPs for their assessment of unmet needs.

Thank to everyone at @RoyalMail Voyager Park this morning for showing me your new electric fleet. Will make a big difference locally and help towards your ambitious environmental goals.

Agree with @LordJohnMann remarks today in @UKHouseofLords regarding setting standards. He recognises the need for reform, and the inevitable consequences of not doing so. Well worth a listen via Time : 13.56.54.

Meeting this afternoon re the National Flagship project. My original business case for several 1HMG maritime assets did not need taxpayers money. Many private sector and charitable ventures still keen to support the vessel.

We're excited @GeorgeFreemanMP @beisgovuk @spacegovuk announced plans to review secondary legislation and prioritisation of funding support for UK ADR & IOSM missions. We'll support scoping the new #spacesustainability standard with partners at @UKspace

I’m campaigning to reform a major block on positive development- high quality shared housing situated on high streets, helping level up, free up housing stock & parking spaces & let people save a deposit. @VOAgovuk policy stops this & is resulting in massive council tax arrears.

Yesterday Housing Minister @chrispincher met with @LandG_UK who are building 1,000s of homes using cutting-edge technology. Their use of new technology and apprentices shows they're planning for the future and have a #planforjobs

#MaritimeReservists ⚓️ from around the UK 🇬🇧 who also work as Civil Servants 💼 were hosted for breakfast at No10 Downing Street today to mark #ReservesDay 🥳
