As the PM says, he understands his disappointment in the by-election losses.

They don’t tell you much about how GE’s pan out. We lost 15 by-elections between 1979 & 1992 but went on to win in 1983, 1987 & 1992.

Tonight, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has won another clear mandate as Leader of the Conservative Party. Now we can fully focus on delivering on the people’s priorities and put leadership speculation and distractions behind us for good.

I’m backing @BorisJohnson tonight.

He is the right person for the job. The British public will not forgive a divisive, lengthy and distracting contest when we should be focussing on delivering on the issues that matter to them.

This on par if not better than the Olympic James Bond scene.
The Queen having tea with Paddington - incredible that at 96 and after 70 years on the throne she still has the power to surprise #platinumpartyatthepalace

Really why doesn’t everyone calm down? Boris is not going anywhere, will lead Conservatives into the next election and I see no convincing reason as to why he won’t win it.

National Walking Month🚶'Wolsey Walk' - a lovely circular walk. Cawood is a lovely village with many historic associations, which you can see along the Wolsey Walk. Providing an impressive backdrop is Cawood Castle, believed to be associated with the Humpty Dumpty nursery rhyme.

Much more to do but this is excellent progress on jobs and economic recovery after the pandemic.

In #May we’re celebrating six #Selby district businesses. @hygieiagroupltd supplies a range of cleaning equipment & cleaning services. Owner Andrew said “The council has provided us with various means of support, open forums to attend, social events and networking events.” (1/2)

Enough is enough. I’ve prepared a package of sanctions against @nusuk following concerning incidents over many years. Disappointed it has come to this but proud to stand up for Jewish students. NUS will not have a seat at the table until we see real change
