Work is the best way to help people deal with global cost of living pressures.

The days when rail strikes could bring Britain to a halt are gone. For millions, rail is now a choice, not a necessity. Tragically, this means that, if strikes continue, the biggest victims may end up being rail workers themselves. Time to modernise the railway & end this strike

More strike action today affecting Dover and Deal. More disruption also expected tomorrow. Check with @Se_Railway for latest on travel.

In Tiverton for today’s by-election, hearing about the impact of the RMT/Labour supported strikes on the local community here. #TivertonandHonitonByElection

Today, I will table legislation that will give employers the freedom to recruit skilled, temporary staff to plug vital roles during strike action.

This new law will help protect the British public from future disruption caused by militant trade unions👇🏿

Vulnerable patients will miss appointments.

Doctors and nurses won’t be able to get to work.

It’s time @wesstreeting put patients first, stands up for the NHS and condemns the unjustified rail strikes.

Since I launched #GrowthGateway at #AIC2022 this January, >150 African & UK businesses have received support. The UK 🇬🇧 is committed to being Africa’s trade partner of choice. Here’s how #GrowthGateway is supporting two-way UK-Africa #trade & #investment

Yesterday in Parliament I urged the Home Secretary to continue to do everything possible to bring an end to the dangerous small boat crossings and save lives. You can see what was said here:

We reunited Falklands veteran Squadron Leader Tom Jones with the RAF Chinook helicopters he flew on the islands 40 years ago.

Thanks to the bravery of service personnel like Tom, the freedom and sovereignty of the Falkland Islands continues to this day.

Our report on the Grenfell disaster in the Standard: 'Stop building new tower blocks until safety can be guaranteed'

As I said five years ago, “It is not enough to solely offer condolences, we must also make sure a tragedy like this never happens again.”

Five years on and there is too much still to do. So very sad today remembering.

#Grenfell - Forever in our hearts - Rest in Peace

Very pleased to meet with Levelling Up minister, @NeilDotObrien and @TivHonTories candidate, Helen Hurford to discuss our vision for levelling up rural and coastal communities in #Devon

Bringing an end to the Channel crossings is the compassionate, common sense and responsible thing to do. People are safe in France. They should not be making these treacherous crossings in the hands of criminal gangs.

Channel crossings put lives at risk in the hands of dangerous criminal gangs.

It is the compassionate, common sense and right thing to do to tackle these crossings and bring them to an end.

Sad but unsurprising that Wes supports disruption and misery for commuters who want to get on with their lives.

He backs strikers, we back strivers.

At #PMQs today a very muddled and confused performance by Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer.

A strong reminder that all the opposition offer is a Lib/Lab/SNP coalition of chaos that would take our country backwards on Brexit and break up the United Kingdom.

The votes are in, and the PM secured an even larger proportion than in the leadership race.

We’re delivering for the British people in what we said we would do.

It’s time to come together, look forward and continue with our strong record of delivery under PM Boris Johnson.

‘Boris Johnson had delivered time and again for the British People and the people of Dover and Deal' - YouTube

Boris Johnson has delivered Brexit, the vaccine, got us out of Covid first, led the way in backing Ukraine and is providing unparalleled support to tackle the cost of living crisis.

Boris Johnson delivers for the British people, time & again. Tonight, I will be backing Boris.

Platinum Jubilee picnics, live music and partying on the White Cliffs of Dover!

Thanks to the @nationaltrust for opening up South Foreland lighthouse for these special 70th Jubilee holiday celebrations. #PlatinumJubilee

Congratulations to the Eastry Events team for a fantastic Eastry Platinum Jubilee Fete - and thank you for asking me to open it. Great fun & fundraising for good causes.

Good to see our excellent district and county councillors, charities, fire service & community volunteers.

A wonderful four days of activities planned across Dover, Deal and in our coastal and rural villages. Take a look at the Kent Mercury for some of the events across our area - do come along and join in the celebrations! -

A good morning meeting with Kent Resilience Forum and Kent Police.

With passenger traffic expected to increase ahead of the Jubilee bank holiday weekend I underlined again the need to Keep Dover Clear and Kent traffic flows moving.

With the war in Ukraine & the after-shock from the Covid pandemic, everyday household costs have been rising fast.

That’s why the @Conservatives cost of living financial support is so welcome.

I’ve been spreading the news about the new support package of help on the doorstep.

This week I called for action to be taken on Dover’s roads.

Dover is becoming almost as famous for its traffic jams as for its White Cliffs, as reported in the Dover Express.

The Prime Minister gave an explanation and further apology in @HouseofCommons today as the Sue Gray report was released. I know that this apology and explanation will be important to many of my constituents across Dover & Deal.

Well done to @cllrnadeemahmed, our @Conservatives candidate in Wakefield!

Born and bred in Wakefield- and a councillor there since 2006- he’ll be a strong local voice for Wakefield, helping us level up there and across the whole United Kingdom 🇬🇧⬆️

Congratulations to Helen Hurford, the Conservative parliamentary candidate for the #Tiverton & #Honiton by-election. Born in Tiverton, a former headteacher and now a local business owner in Honiton, Helen will be a great MP for all the communities in the constituency.

A great pleasure to present an inaugural Ethnic Media Award in Parliament on behalf of @Conservatives and to meet the founder of these exciting new awards @RomailGulzar of @PukaarGroup

Good to join @SouthernWater at the launch of the @WaterUK Water 2050 report yesterday & to discuss cost of living support available for low income households in our area.

It is vital our water system is sustainable and fit for the future & that it is affordable too.

I’m freezing prescription charges this year to help ease cost of living pressures & put money back in people’s pockets.

The rise in the cost of living has been unavoidable & while we can’t completely prevent it, where we can help - we will.👇🏽

The Public Order Bill will put a stop to the dangerous, highly disruptive tactics of a selfish few.

We're taking action to support ordinary working people because we are on the side of the responsible majority.

This is what the Bill will deliver 👇🏽

One Queen's Speech. 38 Bills. All delivering on the British people's priorities:

✅ Growing the economy to tackle the cost of living
👮‍♀️ Backing our police to make streets safer
⚡️ Building an affordable, secure energy supply

To think that nine weeks ago P&O were operating pride of place across the Channel. After its disastrous mismanagement and mass sackings P&O is still a complete shambles. It’s causing disruption to Dover and damaging our local and national economy.
