Ensuring that electric vehicle charging is fairly priced is vital to enable the transition to EVs. That is why I was delighted to support @QuentinWillson & @fairchargeuk at MOTO's J1 services in Rugby, and see @TheRAC_UK's new all-electric breakdown van.

Last week I joined Rugby Green Christian Group for a Question Time panel about our response, both locally and nationally, to the climate challenges we face. It's vital that we have these conversations to build support for the steps we all must take.

The Queen's Award for Enterprise recognises outstanding UK businesses in 4 categories - innovation; intl trade; sustainable development & promoting opportunity. Applications are open for the 2022 awards & @Warkslieutenant can support local businesses.

My debate on on the provision of accident and emergency care at the Hospital of St Cross in Rugby is just about to start, and you can watch it live on the website.

In this afternoon’s vote I will be unable to give my support to the Prime Minister. The country has reason to be grateful to Boris Johnson for getting Brexit done after a period of uncertainty and for securing a successful vaccine programme in the face of the pandemic.

It was great to meet with local business Draper Civil Engineering and talk to them about how working on major projects, including HS2, has helped their business grow and provided some great opportunities for young people to take up an apprenticeship.

A warm welcome for #EnviroSeminar delegates & speakers from FPA Chairman @MarkPawsey, who described the event as a great opportunity to update on the environmental issues affecting our industry.

This morning in Parl I raised with @hmtreasury the tragic case of Jamie Rees & the OurJay campaign which is providing more external defibrillators in Rugby - but this shouldn't be a postcode lottery. More needs to be done to provide accessible lifesaving defibrillators.

…I then visited the @LondonEVCompany with @MarkPawsey to hear about the development of their electric taxi.

They built the iconic black cab over 100 years ago & last week announced they have sold 5000 electric taxis in London, making up more than a third of cabs there….3/3

On Tuesday we’ll question CEOs of @ScottishPower, @EDFenergy, @EOnEnergyUK and @CentricaPlc for our inquiry into the energy market.

I am honoured to have been recognised by @indparltrust as their MP of the Year. This award is particularly meaningful as it has been awarded in memory of our friend and colleague, Sir David Amess MP, who chaired the IPT for many years.

Today in Parliament I urged Ministers to support National Manufacturing Day 2022 on 7 July which is a great opportunity to showcase some of the great manufacturing skills here in Rugby & Bulkington. Businesses can sign up here:

Very pleased that today's Spring Statement from the Chancellor means a tax cut for hard working families here in Rugby & Bulkington to help tackle the cost of living.

From July, people will be able to earn £12,570 a year without paying any income tax or National Insurance.

It’s a £6bn personal tax cut for 30 million people in the UK.

It’s worth over £330 a year and is the largest increase in a basic rate threshold – ever.👇

Today in Parliament I asked Education Minister @WalkerWorcester what funding is available for @AshlawnSchool here in Rugby to renovate its buildings so they match the outstanding quality of the education offered there.

CIVIC leaders will mark one hundred years since Rugby’s war memorial gates were dedicated this weekend. They will attend a short ceremony at the gates in Whitehall Recreation Ground, one hundred years to the day since they were dedicated.

Very pleased to have signed this letter to the Prime Minister. It is vital that we take action to support those fleeing the terrible conflict in #Ukraine. The UK has a long and proud history of welcoming those displaced by war & we must now do so once again.

Helping children who've fallen behind in school over the past two years is vital. In Parl yesterday I asked @nadhimzahawi what catch-up support can be implemented & I'm delighted he has secured nearly £5bn for tuition, making a real difference for the most disadvantaged pupils.

23rd Dec - Almost 200 years ago in 1823, William Webb Ellis reportedly picked up a football at Rugby School and ran with it. So why not pop into the Webb Ellis shop in #Rugby and buy a rugby ball for a budding player? #Warksmas2021
