This evening I will be backing the Prime Minister @BorisJohnson.

People do not want or vote for a divided team - we are at our best when united and focused on delivery for all across our nations. The PM has got the big calls right, let’s get on and level up across our country.

Too true Jacob. He had the chance and he ducked it. And he campaigned to put Corbyn into Downing St. He can’t hide from that.

Boris Johnson delivered a world beating vaccine programme. With Rishi he delivered a job/business saving programme (furlough etc) to keep our country afloat. He’s explained & apologised for No10 events. I accept that & back him. Let him get on with his job - what most people want

Pleasure to be on the bench as @Anna_Firth is sworn in as Southend West’s new Member of Parliament.

Congratulations and welcome.

Fantastic to be out in #NorthShropshire over the weekend for @DrNShastriHurst 🌳

A fired up, energetic candidate who has a clear 1️⃣0️⃣ point plan for North Shropshire - you can read them all over on 👉🏻@DrNShastriHurst👈🏻 𝐧𝐨𝐰

Great result for @Marcus4Nuneaton and the Nuneaton team. A reminder about the real world rather than the Westminster bubble.👇

My thoughts are with David Amess’s family, his many friends and colleagues and all who knew and loved him at this awful time. RIP David.

Pleased to be re-appointed as the Minister of State for Housing at @mhclg.

Now back to work on our ambitious plans for building back better, delivering our reforms to help those who want a decent home of their own to have one.

Fantastic to be up in #BatleyAndSpen, out on the doors for our @Conservatives candidate @Stephenson_Ryan 🌳 🗳

He’s got a plan for more jobs, more police and more investment - by backing him on July 1st, that change can be secured 💪

Labour failed lamentably to build the homes our country needs, and still today they want to stifle the hopes and ambitions of our people 🇬🇧

This Government is giving communities a real say. Building more homes, better homes and the homes of the future, today 🏡

Great to be in #CheshamAndAmersham today, lending a hand to our brilliant @Conservatives candidate @pdfleet 🌳

It may be a damp day, but we are getting warm reception on the doorstep. #VoteConservative

Second jab done ✅ 💉 Thank you to the medical teams, volunteers, suppliers and decision makers at @DHSCgovuk for providing us with a world renowned vaccine programme 🌎

When you get the call for your 1️⃣st or 2️⃣nd #COVID19Vaccine dose - please take up the offer!

It can take 7️⃣ years to agree local housing plans and 5️⃣ years before a spade hits the ground 🏗

The whole process is all too slow, too complicated and too exclusive and it needs to change.

We will end the glacial pace of planning and here is how 👇🏻

Brilliant to welcome our new colleague @Jill4Hartlepool to Westminster following her victory in #Hartlepool

She is already meeting ministers here at @mhclg and championing Hartlepool to #BuildBackBetter

While the Labour leader is out playing political games, it is great to be out in Hartlepool speaking to residents for @Jill4Hartlepool 🌳

Jill has a positive plan - a plan for more quality local jobs, more apprenticeships, more police on the beat and more investment.

From TODAY we are introducing new planning rules which will allow unused buildings to be transformed into much needed new homes - revitalising our beloved high streets as we build back better from the pandemic.

I've just received my first dose of the Oxford vaccine at my local Tamworth pharmacy @SpringPharm

Thank you to Natalie for being an excellent vaccinator 💉 and a big thank you to the scientists, medical teams & volunteers who have made the vaccine rollout such a success 👍

Not only has Labour’s London lawyer “leader” Sir @Keir_Starmer lost the plot by voting against tougher prison sentences, he’s lost control of his Party by letting them to tweet shameful lies about the Crime & Sentencing Bill. Get a grip Sir @Keir_Starmer

So @DrRosena can you confirm that this photo is of a Spanish nurse at a Spanish hospital? So @Keir_Starmer can you confirm that you won’t put up with your health shadow (again) peddling false news about our NHS?

Shortlisted, interviewed, recommended and appointed under an “open recruitment process” by Team Sadiq.

Serious questions to answer: is the Mayor actually aware of who sits on his committee? Or does he not care enough about the views they hold?

Labour’s ‘guerrilla’ committee to topple statues & rip up historic street names reported to cost Londoners £250k+ 🥀

The Mayor & Keir Starmer are determined to demolish & deny our history rather than retain & explain it. I’ve called to stop this action👇🏻

Today I set out the Government’s update on cladding and building safety.

We are developing further financial solutions to protect leaseholders exposed to the unaffordable costs of fixing safety defects in high-rise buildings that they didn’t cause.

“For the first time we are embedding the principle that buildings should be beautiful” - @RobertJenrick in @thetimes today 🏡

Spreading unsubstantiated rumours against @nadhimzahawi during our response to a global pandemic is not only poor but it is dangerous.

Interested to know @Keir_Starmer’s thoughts on the actions of his front bench health team?

Today, Housing Secretary @RobertJenrick has announced a further £310m to prevent vulnerable people from becoming homeless – bringing total funding to tackle homelessness and rough sleeping next year to more than £750m.

Last week we announced the highest housebuilding numbers since 1️⃣9️⃣8️⃣7️⃣

A real #ThrowbackThursday, but the last time we were delivering this number of houses, I looked like this and about start @LSEnews

Government progress is looking good, unlike my most recent photograph 📷

It’s time to stop misleading Londoners. You have the tools but you’re refusing to use them - including £1billion for essential homes that you’re rejecting from MHCLG.

Stop playing politics and start delivering affordable homes for London.

A simpler, faster and more people focused planning system - @RobertJenrick is right that to get Britain building, we need ambitious change.

More homes, more schools, more hospitals, more shops, more offices - the foundations for a better Britain 🇬🇧

New @HomesEngland figures show them starting the highest number of government-funded affordable homes in a decade. More homes will be coming as we invest £12 billion in affordable homes for families across the country.

Still silence from @AnnelieseDodds on whether she backs @ThangamMP attack on Stamp Duty cut as a "bung" to homeowners. She should set the record straight in HoC debate today and confirm she rejects Labour's attack on home buyers and house builders.

Housing transactions in May down 50% on last year - concerning for jobs and economy. Wonder whether @AnnelieseDodds agrees with @ThangamMP that @rishisunak temporarily reducing Stamp Duty to get vital sector moving again is a "huge bung" to home owners? #Labourtruecolours

A fantastic announcement today from @BorisJohnson on the radical reforms to our planning system. This will make it easier to build better homes where people want to live.

The PM is right, we must build, build, build.

🏗️Build back better
👷Build back greener
👷‍♀️Build back faster

We must build, build, build 🏗 These are the words I echoed at #digitalhousingweek last Friday.

More homes, better homes, and homes that people want to live in.

I’m pleased to welcome @joannaaverley as the Government’s new Chief Planner, beginning in September.

Joanna’s experience and fresh thinking will help to ensure the planning system delivers the homes we need, now and in the future.

New figures, released yesterday, from @Zoopla show demand for new homes is 54% higher than this time in March 📈

We have restarted the housing market safely and it’s good to hear so many are seizing this opportunity to find their next home 🏠

Robert Peel, the PM who emancipated Catholics, cut the death penalty,
cut food costs and founded our unarmed Police Force.

A progressive statesman; we in Tamworth are proud of him. BTW, below is wrong, you've got the wrong Peel!

It was right for Dom Cummings to clearly & fully explain the detail behind decisions he made for his family in these exceptional circumstances.

Now we must get on, refocus our efforts and tackle the main issue -Coronavirus. Will respond fully to residents contacting me, as ever.

Today is the #BigHousingThankYou, recognising the commitment and achievements of frontline housing workers across the country.

We thank you for being there for your communities when they have needed you most @OurBHTY @NFA_ALMOs

10 years ago today I was elected as MP for #Tamworth. It is an absolute honour to have served for the past 10 years

I may have lost some weight and swapped the hairline for a beard, but my drive and determination to make our area a better place for us all is greater than ever.

Tonight I am sure we will all be thinking of our Prime Minister and wish him a swift and safe recovery.

My thoughts are with @BorisJohnson and his family.

I appreciate these are tough times but if you’re a business owner in Tamworth about to make staffing decisions today, please wait to hear latest support from @RishiSunak due today, before acting. It’s important you have the most up to date information to help you through.

Lent starts today 🗓

This year I am giving up 🧀, 🥩 and 🥔. Even my office are joining in with items like 🍺, 🥓 and 🍫

Whether you are giving something up for religious reasons, for a health kick, or just to prove you can - do let me know what your lent promise is below 👇🏻

A great day @mhclg getting up to speed on our key objectives to get the country building 🏗

Some tough challenges ahead, but 2020 will be a big year for housing 🏡

Delighted to be appointed as the @mhclg Minister of State for Housing - though sad to be leaving a great team at @foreignoffice.

This Government will deliver on our commitment to build the housing that people need. Looking forward to getting stuck in alongside @RobertJenrick
