Really excited that the Tour of Britain is returning to our patch, and delighted the Finish Line is in Mansfield again! Great column from Cllr John Cottee 👇

Yesterday in the Commons, I asked about social care and the challenges of integrating health and care services locally. I asked the Secretary of State to ensure that, as Covid-related funding streams end, Councils are still able to access the right finance and support for Care.

Every single family in the whole county received a school place offer for one of their preferred schools today, on Primary Schools offer day 👨‍🏫

We've had one of the biggest ever school building programmes in Notts in recent years, and it pays off 👍

👩‍🏫| It’s National Offer Day!

If you applied for your child’s Sept 2022 reception or year 3 school place on time, we’ll send you your outcome today!

Online applicants can log on to view and accept offers, other applicants will be sent a letter 2nd class.

It's the Easter holidays and I'm looking forward to a few days at home with my children. Forgive me, I'm having a few days away from social media.
Have a great Easter, and I'll see you on the other side.

ICYMI: Last week, Government announced our new Tackling Domestic Abuse Plan.
Backed with £230 million in funding, we’re taking tough action against perpetrators, while making it easier for victims to get the support they need.

I'm still ecstatic about the news that @WestNotts will be receiving a share of more than £400 MILLION, which will make sure even more people across Mansfield are supported to get the skills they need to get a good job.
Here's a short video with a bit more info!

"Last week in Parliament there was a lot of focus on our area’s past, and its future in powering the UK." This week's column 👇

Fab to join fellow East Midlands MPs @Bren4Bassetlaw and Mark Fletcher at an event in Parliament last week, where we were throwing our support behind North Notts being selected as a site for a new multi-billion pound energy investment!

After a handful of celebrities with big followings decided to (deliberately?) misinterpret my comments on C4, I've removed the tweet. No point trying to have a sensible convo in a pile on orchestrated by someone with a million+ followers.

Yep. Defo fascism. First thing every fascist does is relinquish state control of the media

Around the world, state broadcasters are typically a beacon of openness and transparency. Free markets are baddies. Must be true

The government has just confirmed its intention to ‘privatise’ Channel 4. This is not freedom or independence - its the seedbed of fascism

Channel 4 has a valuation of about 1% of that of @netflix. If it wants to grow and compete globally it will need access to capital. Taxpayers can not be asked to provide risk capital. It will continue flat-lining as a small player if it stays in state hands.

Channel 4 rightly holds a cherished place in British life and I want that to remain the case. I have come to the conclusion that government ownership is holding Channel 4 back from competing against streaming giants like Netflix and Amazon. 1/3

A vibrant discussion with @andy4wm, @BBradley_Mans and @MariaPMachan on @HS2ltd.

All panellists talk about the transformational impact HS2 will have and the need to build on it through projects like the Midlands Rail Hub.

#MCConf22 #RIAMidlands #HS2AlltheWay

Great to be at the @MidsConnect conference in #Birmingham to hear about transport plans for the region, including upgrades to rail services between #Wolverhampton and #Shrewsbury.

Fascinating insight from #WestMidlands Mayor @andy4wm and MP @BBradley_Mans too! #MCConf22

Delighted with the publication of the Schools White Paper last week - full of really positive stuff! Have a read here:

There's one week left of the Great British Spring Clean so it's not too late to get involved! Join the #BigBagChallenge and pick up as much litter as you can!

We're making big changes over at @NottsCC and taking action to improve Nottinghamshire’s roads. Won't be done overnight, but we're boosting budgets, hiring more staff, and rolling out a new programme of better quality, longer term repairs across the area.

I know my constituents across Mansfield and Warsop will welcome the great news that our area will be receiving £183,200 to boost the provision of Changing Places toilets!

It's been a big week for education! First with the publication of the Schools White Paper, then followed by the green paper to consult on a new national framework for children with SEND.

Things are looking positive and I'm glad Government is listening on these important issues!

I've been to visit Jigsaw Support Scheme based at the Fire Station, to talk about the support they offer in the community with mental health, social support and helping people with hoarding etc. Thanks for all you do 👍

Imagine MPs or peers trying to do right thing and amend poorly drafted redundant legislation, criminalising what has already been criminalised, worried about profound consequences for children with gender dysphoria, and facing months of barrage. Would it lead to good legislation?

Out with Cllr Sinead Anderson in her #Mansfield West division. Talking highways and parking, plus tidying up in #Ladybrook 👍

Government is announcing bold new plans to improve support for children with special educational needs and disabilities and in alternative provision.

The consultation seeks views on changing practice across education, health and care for a more inclusive system.

👍 Good news announced at #FullCouncil.

Thousands of Nottinghamshire schoolchildren are set to benefit from free school meals this #Easter 🍏 We'll do it with money from the government’s Household Support Fund.

Find out if your child is eligible ⬇️,

I urge everyone in Mansfield and Warsop to join the #BigBagChallenge for this year’s Great British Spring Clean!

"It’s positive that Government is working with charities and grass-roots organisations to ensure Changing Places toilets are in areas of the community where they are most needed."

📖 Digging through today's special educational needs (SEND) review!

Really pleased that Government announced a green paper to consult on a stronger national system for children with special educational needs and disabilities.

@BBradley_Mans says a bid was submitted to Govt last week for a "Level 3" devolution deal - which could mean an East Mids Mayoral Combined Authority (Nottingham/shire and Derby/shire) if successful.

Says it will bring region into the "Premier League"

We submitted our proposals for @NottsCC @MyNottingham @DerbyCC and @Derbyshirecc on Friday, as we bid to get our region in to the Premier League where it belongs, with the clout and the budgets that other areas have, and that our residents deserve!

If your child falls behind in maths or English, we are asking schools to intervene and help them get them back on track.

That’s our pledge to every parent.

It’s part of the central mission of this government: to unite and level up across the country.

I am determined to make sure all children and young people can fulfil their full potential.

This week, I will be publishing two new plans - one for our school system and another for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities 🏫👩🏽🧑🏻‍🏫

Delighted that we're doing even more to support small businesses! Very welcome announcement from the Spring Statement.
