Great to meet with Paul & Steve from @socialbrokersuk at Kirkdale St Lawrence today & hear about the amazing community work they’re doing.

This June & July, they’re running a free pre-entry ESOL course to help anyone looking to improve their English.

Merseyside MPs have written to the CEO of @santanderuk to oppose plans to outsource fraud investigation work carried out by staff on Merseyside and across the UK.

They are calling on Santander to:

➡️ Reconsider the outsourcing
➡️ Work with #TheCWU
➡️ Keep these jobs in the UK

UPDATE | Water Street in Liverpool city centre has now reopened.

Many thanks to crews at @lpool_LSSL who swept the road overnight ready for the morning rush.

This is why decisive sanctions are needed immediately, and why Western allies need to be on right side of history and do more than solely condemn Israeli attacks on, and extermination of, Palestinian people.

Heartbroken at last nights incident.

Grateful it wasn’t worse, and for the incredible response from our frontline services.

To those seeking to exploit this tragedy for their hateful agenda, we see you. Liverpool is a proud and resilient city and we always stand together.

Last week, I joined a powerful lobby of Parliament, led by disabled people, opposing the proposed cuts to disability support.

These cuts are sadistically cruel. I wasn’t elected to inflict harm onto the most vulnerable in our society – I will be voting against these cuts.

Great to speak last night at the @ucu #ProtectEducationNow Congress 2025 in Liverpool.

We urgently need a fair, sustainable funding model for further, higher & prison education - one that puts people before profit & learning before ledgers ✊🏽

Bringing South Western Railway into public hands is a major step forward, but the job isn’t done until outsourced staff - cleaners, security and more - are all brought back in-house.

Public services must mean full public ownership.

This week, I joined @unitetheunion hospital lab workers on the picket line at Royal Liverpool University Hospital.

They have my full, unwavering support. This strike concerns patient safety - burnout and chronic understaffing are putting lives at risk. Solidarity, always ✊🏽

Great to visit @transformliveco this week with @Georgia_Gould MP.

Transform Lives are a fantastic social enterprise supporting people into work with tailored advice, training, and care.

I hosted a meeting today with constituents to talk about the Assisted Dying Bill.

It’s a complex & emotional issue, and I’m grateful for the honest, thoughtful discussion - including concerns about hospice care.

I’ll continue to listen carefully as the Bill progresses.

Starmer & McSweeney’s power games shouldn’t come at the expense of hungry children.

This delay is a political choice - just like the winter fuel cuts. Those in power must think again.

This is a moral imperative, not a political bargaining chip.

This week, I held one of my regular surgeries in the city centre, helping constituents on a range of issues from employment disputes, immigration & leaseholder queries.

I run surgeries across the constituency – feel free to reach out via email and book in your appointment.

Every year, people die in police or prison custody, mental health settings, or after contact with the state.

I called on the government to back @INQUEST_ORG’s call for a national oversight body.

We need transparency, accountability & an end to preventable deaths.
