Happy International Women in Engineering Day!
I want to pay tribute to all women working in engineering. We need to continue to celebrate each others achievements, as we all work to achieve gender equality in #Engineering @INWED1919 #INWED22

This Conservative Governmentโ€™s Bill of Rights con is an attack on women.

It will make it harder for victims of rape to get justice.

But it comes as no surprise from a Govt that has effectively decriminalised rape.

"Even at this eleventh hour it is still possible for Grant Shapps to step in."

Shadow Transport Secretary @LouHaigh says a "resolution must be found" to settle rail strikes.

Great to celebrate 75 years of twinning friendship between Oxford and Bonn with @GermanAmbUK Miguel Berger, @OxfordLordMayor James Fry, and District Mayor of Bonn Jochen Reeh-Schall @reehturn.

May the strong ties between these two great cities endure far beyond the next 75 years

It was great to see Flofest back in full swing and IRL!

Well done to Abi, Sara and Alan - Team Flofest- and all the other volunteers and organisations who made this great community event such a success ๐Ÿ‘ ๐ŸŽธ ๐Ÿ›ผ ๐ŸŽถ

To mark #CleanAirDay today, our joint statement with MP @FeryalClark and RCOG President @morris_ep is calling for the Government to commit to their air pollution target 10 years earlier. (1/2)

Six years ago our colleague and friend, Jo Cox, was murdered.

In Joโ€™s memory we continue to look ahead with a belief that the world she believed in so passionately remains within our grasp.

โ€œWe are far more united and have far more in common than that which divides us.โ€

It has been five years since 72 people were killed by a fire at Grenfell Tower.

The appalling tragedy is evidence of the unequal society we live in under this Tory government.

Today we remember the victims and demand action to ensure a similar tragedy can never happen again.

Conversion therapy isn't:

-Psychological support and treatment
-Non-directive counselling
-Discussions between teachers and pupils, religious leaders and worshippers, and within families.

Conversion therapy is:

Labour would protect trans people by banning it in full.

Britainโ€™s economy has ground to a halt.

But Rishi Sunak thinks sticking plasters will fix it.

Only Labour has a plan to make our economy stronger โ€“ giving families, businesses, the energy sector and our supply chains the security they need.

Well done to Rose Hill Primary School for no less than seventy years in operation!

Great to be at todayโ€™s joint birthday and #PlatinumJubilee celebration.

Well done to everyone who made the event such a success ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ‘

More world-beating results from Boris Johnson's Conservatives.

Average real pay for a woman working full time:

April 2010: ยฃ30,258.30
April 2022: ยฃ30,031.61

Women now earn ยฃ226 less per year than when Labour left office.

The Conservatives have levelled women down.

Today Liz Truss praised her social mobility tsar for taking on "the soft bigotry of low expectations".

This is the social mobility tsar who said "physics isn't something that girls tend to fancy" because "there's a lot of hard maths in there".

Women and girls deserve better.

The choice is clearer than ever before:

Divided Tories propping up Boris Johnson with no plan to tackle the issues you are facing.

Or a united Labour Party with a plan to fix the cost of living crisis and restore trust in politics.

Labour will get Britain back on track.

NEW: A third of any revenue from the Chancellor's windfall tax u-turn could go straight back to oil and gas producers in a tax giveaway.

This is a chaotic, incoherent Tory package that:
โ‰๏ธ Undermines the windfall tax
โ‰๏ธ Incentivises investment in fossil fuels over renewables

Hardworking women have been failed by a Tory Government that has left them earning less today than they did twelve years ago.

And Boris Johnson is far too focussed on saving his own skin to do anything to help them with the cost of living crisis today.

Wonderful to see so many people together celebrating the #PlatinumJubilee with community parties in Iffley Village and Blackbird Leys today.

Well done and thank you to the Friends of Iffley Village, @OPAoxf, @ewaoxford and Blackbird Leys Parish Council for all their hard work.

Fantastic to see such a huge turnout at @oxfordpride today from across the city and beyond, almost 20 years since it first took place - also on a Jubilee bank holiday weekend.

Labour is the party of equality and weโ€™re proud stand up for LGBT+ rights. #Pride2022

Moving service at Christchurch cathedral today to celebrate the #PlatinumJubilee.

It was wonderful to see people of all faiths and none, civic representatives, University officials and members of the armed forces coming together in thanks.

It was such a pleasure to witness the lighting of the #PlatinumJubilee beacon on the castle mound at @OxfordCastle last night.

Thank you to @OxLieutenancy @HSOxfordshire @OxfordLordMayor @OxfordCity @OxfordshireCC and โฆ@OxfordPresTrustโฉ #HM70

It was an honour to address The Queen on such a momentous occasion: the first #PlatinumJubilee for a British monarch.

The Queen has shared our greatest moments and suffered with us in our darkest days.

This weekend, we celebrate Her Majesty.

Charges down, response times up & victims left despairing; BBC investigation shows action on crime getting worse.

With 7000 fewer neighbourhood police, crime rising, more criminals let off & more victims let down, this Govt is badly failing on law & order

The Prime Minister is watering down the ministerial code to save his own skin.

Itโ€™s time to stop the rot that Boris Johnson has created at the heart of Government.

Labour will call a vote to restore standards in public life. Any Tory MP who wants rid of Johnson should back us.

What do integrity, objectivity, accountability, transparency, and honesty have in common?

They're all words Boris Johnson just deleted from his foreword to the ministerial code.

Draw your own conclusions.

The new CPS guidelines on disclosure risk making it even harder for the survivors of rape to seek counselling while waiting for justice. I don't believe that's what the Attorney General intended, but she must take immediate steps to correct it now. My full statement is here.

Iโ€™m still waiting for an answer from Oliver Dowden on whether the Conservative Party approved of one of their Peers sharing a platform with far right extremists.

The Office for Students say he wasnโ€™t speaking for them. Was he speaking for the Tories?

Labour called for a windfall tax on oil and gas companies 137 days, 12 hours and 40 minutes before the Chancellorโ€™s statement.

That's how long it took him to even start listening to the millions of people facing soaring bills.

Labour is winning the battle of ideas in Britain.

First the Tories said they couldnโ€™t introduce a windfall tax because producers were the ones struggling.

Then they called it โ€˜Unconservative.โ€™

Now Labour has dragged them kicking and screaming to this obvious solution.

Why has it taken them so long while households suffered?

Our nurses and doctors worked around the clock during the pandemic. They didn't stop for โ€˜wine timeโ€™.

The #SueGrayReport shows the extent of the rot at Number 10 and the buck stops with the Prime Minister.

He should resign.

Two years ago today, George Floyd's death sparked a global movement for racial justice.

Today Labour is clear that #BlackLivesMatter - and that's why the next Labour government will introduce a Race Equality Act to tackle structural racial inequality.

Tory peer Lord Wharton said the CPAC conference in Hungary was โ€œa great chance to pick up new ideasโ€ and to โ€œfight for the values that we all hold dearโ€.

Other speakers included an ultra-conservative journalist, a far right blogger and Donald Trump.

โ€œโ€ฆon the table next to him are two bottles of champagne or cava, four bottles of wine and half a bottle of gin. The images also show party cups, biscuits, crisps and other food.โ€

Whatโ€™s his excuse this time? Itโ€™s not a party unless thereโ€™s cake?

Congratulations to Liz Pole, Labour's candidate for the Tiverton and Honiton by-election.
A passionate campaigner on rural affairs; Liz will deliver for all areas of the constituency and be a champion for the local community #OnYourSide

Great reception this morning in Osney on the #labourdoorstep with @AnnelieseDodds @OxUniLabour. Residents happy to see Labour taking action on local issues. #OnYourSide

Looks like the second annual Oxfordshire Distinguished Gentlemanโ€™s ride has gone really well!

All for great causes (menโ€™s mental health and prostrate cancer research).

And they certainly did look dapper! #DGR2022 #DGROxford

An honour to join @Keir_Starmer and @NickTorfaen to meet the delegation of the Congressional @WaysMeansCmte led by Chairman @RepRichardNeal earlier today.

We discussed issues of mutual concern with this important crossparty delegation to the UK and EU.

A positive campaign by @AustralianLabor ends almost a decade of stale Conservative rule.

You showed that Australia deserves better.

Huge congratulations to @AlboMP and our sister party Australian Labor!

The cost of childcare โ€“ for children at school as well as in their early years โ€“ is a cost of living issue.
In Britain, and around the world, families are facing rising costs and governments need to act.
