Tonight, @columeastwood @ClaireHanna and I forced a division on the immunity (de facto amnesty) clause in the NIO's Legacy Bill.

Sadly, the Conservative Government rammed this through over the heads of the voices of victims in NI. The fight goes on.

In other news, 7% of GB respondents in another poll claim to have seen a UFO.

Yesterday I co-signed a request for an urgent discussion in Parliament on the US Supreme Court ruling and raised the incomplete commissioning of abortion services in Northern Ireland

We’re so proud of our talented SDLP Youth members who are representing so many different organisations in their own capacities at today’s Shared Island Dialogue 🕊

The next generation of the SDLP are focused on building the common ground🌹

Thanks to @PlayhouseDerry and @ClaireHanna @columeastwood for facilitating testimonies from ‘The Crack in Everything’ @ Westminster today. Pictured with family of Annette McGavigan & Kathleen Feeney & PFCs Sara Duddy who spoke on the panel afterwards

On Talkback I was asked what advice I’d give the @duponline about getting out of the hole they’ve got us all in - they need to establish their own bottom line for all our people & our economy, not that of the ERG or far right in Northern Ireland. There are solutions to be found🙏

Spoke yesterday on the campaign of distortion being waged about the causes & effects of the Protocol, by those who created it, and urged DUP to unshackle themselves from the ERG & help us achieve the negotiated solutions that can work for all our people. They heckled instead 🤷‍♀️

“I’m old enough to remember when Brexit was meant to be about parliamentary sovereignty.” @ClaireHanna on how damaging the #NIProtocolBill will be to Northern Ireland.

Society will be poorer for loss of great man like Jim Fitzpatrick

Brexit / Protocol wranglings dominating the start of the week (for approx the 300th week running 👀🤪), but varied agenda for the rest of it for me in London & South Belfast

Met officials about Lagan flood defence scheme & put questions received from constituents. Our focus has been replacement planting of removed trees & better communication with the public. More info here + at public info meeting on Thursday @ the Boat Club

Jim Fitzpatrick was a man of integrity, faith, kindness & approachability. His contribution to the life of our island, as a lawyer, businessman & through the Irish News, has been vast & positive.

Thinking today of his family, who he was really devoted to

With community meals at Ballynafeigh & now an active community garden at Knockbreda, the Methodist church are supporting & engaging so many & really building community in these neighbourhoods. Delighted to support them. Lovely grand opening this morning for a transformed space!

The SDLP is marching with trade union activists from @NIC_ICTU today to demand progress on tackling the #CostOfLivingCrisis.

People across the North are being forced to choose between heating and eating. They deserve a functioning government that is on their side.

I visited my GP practice today. They're inundated with both work and criticism. Stop attacking medics on the front line working insanely hard and redirect your anger towards those responsible, a Tory party running the NHS into the ground.

🔴 REVEALED: Train companies paid out nearly £800m to shareholders last year before telling rail unions that employees must take a real-terms pay cut for them to stay afloat

What an absolutely glorious evening to mess about in boats. Great event by the local Syrian community and @ExternCharity combining Syrian and Irish traditional music on the Lagan #RefugeeWeek2022

Great to meet with Ellie & Lucy from @stdominicsGS, they were in Westminster to tell MPs about the Send my Friend to School campaign, calling for education, with its transformative power, for all children around the world.

Our first Northern Ireland MP! @stdominicsGS meet @ClaireHanna MP and advocate powerfully for the @sendmyfriend #TheWorldsTeachers campaign. @OxfamEducation @oxfamcampaigns

Believe it or not, @BrandonLewis is supposed to speak up for our region at cabinet. I asked him what representations he had made about the proposed Bill of Rights & its impact on the Agreement. The response was a silly misquote - government by distraction, distortion & division🙄

Listening to Tory MPs is difficult at the best of times but this week has been particularly odd. Have I missed something? Did @UKLabour win the last British election? Have the Tories not been running the place for 12 years? I really thought I was clued in.

Stephen Kelly champions the best interests of our manufacturing sector, jobs and our economy. Hard men who can't face Brexit realities threatening him into staying quiet have nothing to offer.

Solidarity @ManufacturingNI @Big_Kells

Thanks to @ToniaAntoniazzi for sponsoring the valuable discussion on integrated education in London today. And for the input from MPs @ClaireHanna @StephenFarryMP @ianpaisleyuk It is so important for young people to learn and develop together.

.@ClaireHanna accuses the govt of carrying out a "demolition derby" by bringing forward a Bill of Rights enabling it to ignore the ECHR which underpins the GFA/Belfast Agreement.

Lovely event yesterday in Leinster House remembering a man who contributed so much to politics on this island. First elected at just 24 Austin Currie stuck to his principles as a peaceful, constitutional nationalist despite living at the sharpest edges of sectarianism & partition

The John and Pat Hume Foundation @humefoundation

Emotional and inspirational tribute to Austin Currie today in Leinster House. Austin was a titan of peace and civil rights. ⁦@emer_currie1⁩ ⁦@endakenny⁩ ⁦⁦@ClaireHanna⁩
