This is long overdue. The Met's failings are deep and long-standing. Being put into 'special measures' must act as a wake up call to the Met's leadership.

There must be a clear change of culture and practices to restore public confidence in the Met.

It is astonishing that the Conservatives are thinking about reversing the ban on fracking.

There is no excuse. All forms of fracking must be stopped. Sign the declaration demanding an immediate ban in the UK.

Helicopter joy rides have returned over Bath, disrupting residents and damaging our environment.

It does not fit with our World Heritage status to have noisy, sight-seeing helicopters polluting our city.

We need more affordable housing in our city to help local families, and allow young professionals to live and work in our city. We do not need even more student housing which just adds to the surplus we already have. Sign the petition today!

New HMRC data (provided in response to our FoI request) indicates that in 2021/22 just just 8,632 (2.1%) of the 404K new mothers who started on statutory paid maternity leave used the chronically failing Shared Parental Leave scheme to transfer some of their leave to the father

No child should be going hungry in our country. As families continue to struggle through the #CostOfLivingCrisis the Government must extend free school meals to provide some relief. https://www.werahobhouse.co.uk/extend_free_school_meals_says_bath_mp

Ambulance waiting times are soaring. The Conservatives are burying their heads in the sand, trying to wish the problem away. Waiting times for ambulances are spiraling out of control. https://www.werahobhouse.co.uk/ambulance_waits

Response Rescue International trains dogs to recover human remains.
They want to provide services to Ukraine but are behind hit with post-Brexit fees everytime their dogs are called to another country. This is an emergency service and the Foreign Secretary must waiver these fees

Plastics pollution is one of the biggest problems in Britain. These wonderful young people and their teachers have made a big effort to count the amounts of plastic packaging that is thrown away.

I am fully back their campaign for 50% reduction #TheBigPlasticCount @GreenPeace

Take my dental services survey and let me know about your experiences of trying to get treatment in Bath!
We need the government to act to fix our dentistry crisis, so I need your stories to show ministers the problems that people face.

โ€˜There were at least four meetings between the main funder of the Brexit campaign and the Russian government. There are reasonable grounds to believe there were many more. Fact.โ€™

History will not judge #Brexit campaign kindly.

We need a full inquiry.

Park home residents in Bath are facing skyrocketing pitch fees, but the government continues to drag its feet on reform.
I raised the issue in Parliament last week and will continue to press the issue with the minister until we see action!

The UKโ€™s biggest union just passed a motion in support of proportional representation https://www.electoral-reform.org.uk/the-uks-biggest-union-just-passed-a-motion-in-support-of-proportional-representation/ via @electoralreform

I commend the positive @EU_Commission Conclusion on ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆโ€™s candidate status. Itโ€™s the 1st step on the EU membership path thatโ€™ll certainly bring our Victory closer. Grateful to @vonderleyen & each EC member for a historic decision. I expect the positive result from #EUCO next week.

Bath's dental system is at breaking point. The Conservatives are asleep at the wheel when it comes to the crisis in NHS dentistry.

The Conservatives talk a good game on the NHS but they are leaving so many people in Bath without access to dentists.

Great to meet with the organisers of Bath Pride recently to discuss their exciting plans!

We discussed a variety of things including the trans-inclusive conversion therapy and education workshops with the community to hear what it is like for LGBTQIA people living in Bath!

Today is Clean Air Day and I am very happy to share that the clean air zone in Bath has led to a 21% reduction in pollution across the city. Well done to my colleagues at Bath & North East Somerset!!

Violence against women and girls is at epidemic levels. Join me on June 30th along with members of the Council, local Police, Universities and local charities as we discuss how we can tackle this issue in Bath. ๐Ÿ”ถ RSVP at the link below! ๐Ÿ”ถ https://www.werahobhouse.co.uk/changingtheculture

MP for Bath @Wera_Hobhouse came and discussed the importance of a 50% reduction in single-use plastics by 2025, and how important it is to stop exporting plastic waste to poorer countries! #BigPlasticCount

Who is the Trade Minister trying to fool when it comes to the collapse of trade with the EU? The SME Brexit Support Fund gave at least some help to Bathโ€™s small businesses.
Clearly the government continues to ignore business interests when it comes to Brexit.

We must ban conversion therapy in all its forms.

Trans people are twice as likely as the rest of the LGBT+ community to be subjected to conversion practices. There is no explanation but for a complete ban on conversion therapy practices.

The Foreign Office has deserted Jim Fitton and left him to his own fate. Jim is not a criminal. He is a 66-year-old Geologist who has been abandoned by the British Government.

There is no other option but for the Foreign Secretary to intervene at the highest level.

@ClaireCoutinho Child Support (Enforcement) Bill

The answer to my question was a complete abdication from the COP26 President from his responsibility to ensure commitments made last year in Glasgow are being adhered to.

The Government is in the pocket of the Fossil Fuel Industry and sadly the COP26 President is no better.

Very pleased that @JNHanvey raised Jim Fittonโ€™s case directly with PM and asked him directly if he would meet with us and Jimโ€™s family.

Sadly the PM declined. Jimโ€™s family needs more commitments from the highest level in government to secure his release from prison in Iraq #PMQ

Great to join the family of Jim Fitton, along with others at an event yesterday to call for the Foreign Secretary for firmer intervention to address British citizens arbitrarily detained abroad. It made me angry to hear about how the Government have failed on so many cases.

Thank you @SMFthinktank and panellists for a really valuable and informative discussion on paying for Net Zero and how we should value the lives of rights of future generations.

Later today I will present my Protection from Workplace Harassment Bill.

56% of interns or those who on work experience have experience workplace sexual harassment.

This has no place in our society and my Bill will take steps to protect people from workplace harassment.

Today I present my Protection from Workplace Harassment Bill. The Bill would place a duty on employers to protect employees from harassment in the workplace and more protection for third parties.

Does government really get its priorities right?

Apart from the moral outrage and political fight it is picking, the number of people being deported is dwarfed by those arriving.

Doesnโ€™t this tell the government that THEIR โ€˜business modelโ€™ is in a mess? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-61791994
