This week an 85-year-old woman with dementia had to wait 18 hours for an ambulance after breaking her hip in North Shropshire.

Sadly this is now the norm, not the exception.

That's why I've tabled a motion calling for immediate action to tackle the ambulance crisis.

It's time to stop people dying as a result of ambulance delays.

Today I've tabled a motion urging the Government to wake up and...

🚑 Tackle staff shortages

🕒 Publish response times by postcode and target resources accordingly

🔎 Hold an independent review into the crisis.

🏥 Nearly 18,000 women are overdue for a breast scan at our two major Shropshire hospitals.

👩‍⚕️ There aren't enough staff and recruitment is difficult.

⏳ That's why the Government needs to take action to address workforce problems and reduce these backlogs.

Here's that speech from @laylamoran in full, in case you missed it. Heavy with facts, testimony and real-life examples of how the Protocol really works in practice. #NIProtocolBill

It’s a pleasure to welcome in my newest colleague @RichardFoordLD to parliament today.

Together, we’re getting on with the job of standing up for rural Britain and holding the conservatives to account

Thank you to Cheswardine residents for being so welcoming on my Summer Tour! ☀️

Learned how to pull a pint, visited the community shop, church, parish hall and bowling club. The village has a fantastic community spirit.

Obviously I’m delighted that @LibDems have sent Johnson’s Conservatives a message that their sleazy incompetence won’t be tolerated, and Richard Foord will be a superb MP and colleague. 1/3

I sincerely hope it is ruled out.

A recap of the STONKING Liberal Democrat election results last night!

💥 An HISTORIC shockwave in Tiverton & Honiton by @RichardFoordLD

🙌 Wins in EVERY SINGLE Council by-election / deferred election with a Lib Dem candidate – 7 new Councillors in total!

BREAKING: Lib Dems GAIN Tiverton and Honiton

Lib Dems: 22537
Conservatives: 16393
Labour: 1562

Majority: 6144

That’s extraordinary. The Conservatives had 60% of the vote at the last election. The Lib Dems have won it. And won it by a big, big margin.

I am so excited to no longer be the newest @LibDems MP!

What a superb result. Congratulations @RichardFoordLD and the whole team on an outstanding result.

We did it! Lib Dem @mnwilliamz wins the Highley by-election for Shropshire Council with a huge swing.
Lib Dem 630, 54.5% (+54.5%)
Conservative 279, 24.1% (-9.5%)
Labour 239, 20.7% (+7.3%)
Green 9, 0.8% (+0.8%)
Now for Tiverton!

As polls close in Devon I want to say thank you. To our brilliant candidate @RichardFoordLD, to our fantastic campaign team, members and volunteers, and to everyone who has opened their doors to talk over the past few weeks.

This seat has been Conservative for 99 years. If we win tonight, it will be the biggest majority ever overturned in British political history.

We’ve run a truly brilliant campaign and I'm immensely proud of our party.

Huge congratulations to Mark Williams, our newest Liberal Democrat by-election winner and Councillor for Highley, Shropshire!

We're all facing higher bills, and scammers are using this to their advantage.

➡️They're pressuring people into dodgy deals

✅If you’re not sure about something, get advice from a trusted source

⚠️You're not too smart to fall victim

Good luck to @RichardFoordLD and the @LibDems who have worked so hard for today.

Here’s hoping we get a new Lib Dem MP every six months (and one week).

Productive first day on the Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill Committee where I raised issues about people in rural communities not being able to access affordable housing and key health services whether it's A&E, cancer services or an appointment with a GP or a NHS dentist.

Today in Parliament I tabled a motion that urged the government to work with Whitchurch town council and provide the additional driving testing we urgently need.

In tremendously exciting news, I've managed to get myself on to the House of Commons committee that will go through every single line of the government's 'Levelling Up Bill'.

It's #CervicalScreeningAwarenessWeek!

Cervical screening (smear tests) can save lives, but 1 in 3 women do not attend when invited.

Very pleasant morning in Hinstock. Lots of positive conversations with local people, and meeting Shropshire’s youth parliamentarians for their RSPCA fundraiser!

I note that not one of this week’s growing list of culture war distractions has made it one penny easier for any household in Britain to feed their kids, fill their cars, power their homes or pay the rent or mortgage.

Making use of the sun to get out and about in the community today! ☀️

Thank you to Ruyton-XI-Towns, Oswestry, and Sleapy Cat Rescue for the warm welcome.
