My latest column this month focused on football ownership and the fan-led review.

As we move forward we need to ensure our football clubs, like #BWFC, are owned by serious characters who will ensure our community assets are protected

The closure of Harvey Nursery sees the last council-led nursery in our borough close.

Sadly with the Conservative administration in Bolton we are witnessing a policy of managed decline. We need proactive ideas to take our town forward.

The courts backlog in Bolton means one thing - the Conservative government are failing victims of crime.

With criminal barristers on strike, and the English legal system bursting at the seams, it is high time for the Government to act

.@AngelaRayner wiped the floor with Dominic Raab at #PMQs. Tax rises, struggling families and broken promises - how much more will Tory MPs tolerate before they tell Boris Johnson enough is enough.

No PM for today's #PMQs so Raab standing in. This is a man who once said food bank users are not in poverty but simply have a cash flow problem.

This is an endemic problem within the Tory party - the needs of working people are an afterthought.

Great to see that planning permission has been granted for the Bolton College of Medical Sciences.

Pleased to have supported funding for this project and work can now commence.

Great article from @Keir_Starmer showing how Labour are now a govt in waiting - with a clear vision to address the crises facing Britain

Looking ahead to the next general election, Labour are firmly on the path to Government and putting Keir into No10

Another dentistry question which the DHSC cannot answer in the time period

This is a straight forward question which the Minister should be able to answer

It is very concerning that the Minister cannot answer what they are doing to recruit dentists and reduce the backlog

Undoubtedly one of the best parts of my job is visiting primary and secondary schools in my constituency to talk about my role as their representative and give my own insight into how politics work and my experiences.

Great day out on the #LabourDoorstep in Wakefield today supporting our candidate @simonlightwood in getting out the vote.

Lots of positive responses and looking forward to the result later tonight

Inflation at 9.1% today. Working people can't take this strain for much longer. Many seem to opine that the cost of living crisis it's already at its worst point- wrong. From what I see in Bolton South East, it's only set to get worse. Govt must act and soon

NEW: Inflation up at 9.1% today.

Inflation is pushing family finances to the brink - but the low wage spiral many face isn’t new.

It’s a result of a decade of Tory mismanagement of our economy.

Labour will build the high wage, high growth, stable inflation economy we deserve.

Today's @UKLabour Opposition Day debate focuses partly on dentistry services. Interesting that DHSC couldn't give me these statistics ahead of the debate, almost like they're trying to hide something, like a significant fall in overall dentist numbers perhaps?

An honour to be invited to Bolton Town Hall today. Alongside others from our community I attended to commemorate Armed Forces Day and it was a very moving event.
Our armed forces make a huge commitment to protect Britain and our fellow citizens.

Happy birthday to @ManchesterMill @joshi @danithecole.

Reading through the newsletter and it is great to see the success

Long-form in-depth journalism, of the "slow" kind, rather than usual fast paced reporting has a critical place in the wider media

Six years ago today the person we loved most in the world was taken from us. Our family’s wish is that on this day we remember what we have in common, even with those we might disagree with. And to emphasise what connects us rather than what divides us. #MoreInCommon

Made a point of order after #PMQs to challenge Johnson's ridiculous claim that @Keir_Starmer and @UKLabour are supporters of "people traffickers".

It's complete rubbish and an outright lie (standard form for the PM). He needs to correct the record.

Just presented my Private Member's Bill to the House of Commons. Second reading of the Employment Relations (Flexible Working) Bill will be on Friday 28th October

David Buttress you speak for all of us..best of luck in your new role

Five years on from the Grenfell Tower tragedy, we take the opportunity to remember the 72 lives lost in the fire

Five years on, so many families are waiting on #JusticeForGrenfell

As Chair of @appghajjumrah I'm very concerned by the implications of changes to the booking system for thousands of potential Hajj pilgrims across the country. In the last week, we've been making representations to relevant parties including the @UK_CAA

Justice for #Primodos continues to be dragged out by the Govt. The Cumberlege review had forced the Govt to apologise but still they continue to side-line and ignore, long suffering families

Please support crowd funding legal action against Bayer & Govt.

Contributed to Labour's Opposition Day debate on Children's Recovery and the Cost of Childcare this week. The first 1,000 days of any child's life is crucial to their development and even more so in the case of children from lower socio-economic backgrounds.

The NHS is in tatters. Keir is right, we've got a "wanting and inadequate" Government who are unable to address the issues of today. 12 years of Tory rule. 12 long years. #PMQs

Quite amusing to see Cabinet Ministers, PPSes etc passing Johnson notes or whispering advice in his ear.

He needs all the help he can get but even that won't cut it for him. Inept #PMQs

"Strong and robust economy" - growth has been revised down, interest rates up, BoE predicting recession, inflation soaring

Is the PM living in an alternate reality? #PMQs

The PM claims that he has "picked up enemies" over the years, bit of an understatement. 148 are sat behind him and the country loathe him #PMQs

My reaction to the PM's confidence vote last night

I've said it before - this Govt is paralysed by indecision and inaction as it seeks to preserve Johnson's pathetic premiership

@UKLabour are winning the battle of ideas and stand ready to support working families

Getting emails and calls from a significant number of constituents who still haven't had their energy rebate.

When Tory MPs say they will now get on with the job, can they put giving out what they promised on their to-do list?

Today marks the start of #CarersWeek and as a carer myself I'm pleased to be a Parliamentary Champion for @CarersUK to ensure people looking after their loved ones no longer feel forgotten. We must do more to help make caring become visible, valued and supported💙

As the news agenda moves to focus on a no confidence vote in our embarrassment of a Prime Minister, in Bolton South East my constituents face stress and anxieties like no other as the cost of living crisis deepens.
