Transport is the glue that holds communities together and enables people, particularly outside big towns and cities, to socialise, get to work or school, spend their money with local businesses & do much more.

Really pleased to be launching this inquiry.

Today is White Ribbon Day.

I know we need to do more to tackle the epidemic of violence against women & girls.

I am committed to working locally with the police, council, schools and businesses to end this violence.

We’re providing an extra £500 million to support councils to fix our broken roads and fill an additional 1 million potholes every year 👇

''Over the course of this parliament, the government is determined to honour the commitments made in our manifesto and do what is necessary to finally bring the feudal leasehold system to an end.''

An extremely welcome statement from the Government

Delighted that my 10 Minute Rule Bill on Aviation Accessibility passed its first reading today! 📜

Thank you to everyone that has sent supportive messages - I will continue to work with campaigners to ensure that these measures are passed into law.

This new report shows the difference that free school meals have made in London.

Over 9,000 children in Hounslow have benefited & the report showed both children & parents saw the positive benefits this brings.

We celebrated the birth of Guru Nanak dev ji at Hounslow Gurdwara this weekend.

A pleasure, as always, to hear from Lord Inderjit Singh, and to remember the impo rtance of this auspicious event.

Very important line here from @LouHaigh on road safety:

"We treat road safety in a way as if it is somehow a natural accident. If the number of people being killed or seriously injured on our roads, were being killed in any other way, we'd be treating it as a pandemic."

It's welcome to see that NHS waiting lists are starting to fall.

The New Government have ended the doctors strike & invested more in the NHS (including in much needed capital spend) in the budget.

This will make a difference for those waiting

Pleased to join @WomensInstitute this week to learn more about the impact that microplastics released from our clothing can have on our environment.

I'm backing action to reduce microplastics and look forward to supporting this campaign.

Come along and celebrate with us @TwickenhamWat Waterstones Twickenham with some festive music, mulled wine, mince pies, and some fabulous local authors - including me 😉📚

It is welcome the Government are bringing our railways back into public ownership after years of poor services.

I asked @LouHaigh what the DFT were doing to ensure there was adequate capacity to manage the extra workload.

Watch my Q below 👇

I’m relentlessly focused on delivering for passengers.

And I want to be fully transparent on railway performance so you can hold us to account.

That’s why we’re planning to display operator performance data at stations. 🚝

I suggest avoiding Waterloo station (if you can) at the moment - lots of delays & cancellations atm due to the earlier points problems between Clapham & Wimbledon

As Chair of the Transport Committee I'm delighted that our first public evidence session with the Secretary of State @LouHaigh has kicked off today.

You can watch it live via the link below 👇

In the month before the LNER agreement: 179 driver-caused cancellations

In the two months after the LNER agreement: effectively ZERO driver-caused cancellations

We’re putting passengers first ✅🚝

This is the Shadow Justice Secretary.

In his very first tweet in the role, he has chosen to lie to you.

Keir Starmer did not let Jason Hoganson out early. Hoganson was serving for domestic violence. DV is specifically excluded from the ‘release on 40% of sentence’ scheme that…
