Two magnetic objects have been found on unused land in Millbay. Investigative work will take place on 18 Nov to understand what the objects are. The clear message at the moment is that the area is safe and there is no need to evacuate.

It is with great sadness that we have learnt of the death of General Sir Mike Jackson GCB, CBE, DSO, on 15 October surrounded by his family.

General ā€˜Jacko’ served with distinction for over 40 years, finishing his career as Chief of the General Staff.

He will be greatly…

The last government knew veterans couldn’t use their Veterans ID in elections but failed to act to sort it out.

After just 100 or so days in office the new Labour government has announced we are changing the rules so veterans don’t lose out.

I am delighted to have announced today the formation of The Royal Army Medical Service, ensuring the Army will continue to be supported by a modern corps capable of delivering expeditionary healthcare.

Yesterday we secured £63 billion of investment to provide almost 38,000 jobs.

Today we announced half a billion pounds extra investment for housing.

We are delivering on our promise of change.

Yesterday, in the House of Commons, I gave an update on the Afghan Special Forces who were wrongly denied sanctuary in the UK. I am responsible for the Triples Review & the MoD is working hard to review all cases to ensure that every decision is correct.

During a recent visit to Rosyth, Armed Forces Minister Luke Pollard spoke to the UK Defence Journal under the hull of HMS Active after attending the steel-cutting ceremony for HMS Formidable.

Labour is turning the page on the Tory years.

Good change is happening.

This Labour government will attract record private sector investment to upgrade our sewage pipes and clean up our waterways.

Thank you to the team at Roam for five years of brilliant beer, tasty pizza and a meeting place for folks in Peverell.

Roam is the best thing to happen to Peverell in years.

#lovePlymouth

Enjoying celebrating Roam’s fifth birthday with beers in the sunshine.

Peverell is famously without a pub thanks to its religious past so Roam has been a welcome and popular addition to the area.

Happy Birthday Roam. The best thing to happen to Peverell in years. Love it here.

The White Ensign 'flies' again on destroyer HMS Exmouth after a team of divers surveyed the wreck.

Exmouth was the first RN surface ship lost with all hands in #WW2, torpedoed off Wick in Scotland in January 1940.
