The government support plan isn’t even touching the sides in Bury South. The Chancellor says you’ll all have more money in July. I’m going to set a reminder to come back to this waffle in a months time and see if anything has changed.
Something tells me it won’t have done.
Proud to join with colleagues and supporters to speak for the need to #BanTrophyHunting
Trophy hunters currently shoot an animal every 3 minutes. This sickening practise has to end.
Nothing better than being in the Chamber as @AngelaRayner shows no nonsense to incompetents like Raab.
With this high tax, low growth government it’s clear that only Labour has a plan for working families #PMQs
We have a government that literally does what it wants. The rules don’t appear to apply to them.
From the Prime Minister down they are a threat to democracy.
Tory minister ditches parliamentary scrutiny session after committee criticises her https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/international-trade-secretary-committee-b2111875.html
Desperately sad news. Her legacy will live on forever.
Dame Deborah James dies aged 40 https://bbc.in/39ZRrTW
A man there, explaining to women how much body autonomy they are allowed.
Frightening and pathetic in equal measure.
Tory MP Danny Kruger says he doesn’t agree that “women have an absolute right to bodily autonomy".
This week is Injury Prevention Week. More than half a million people were injured through no fault of their own last year.
Nearly 44k at work and nearly 400k on the roads. We all need to do our bit to keep each other safe #IPWeek2022
Careers advice opens doors for young people, especially raising the profile of apprenticeships.
Under Labour every child will receive professional careers advice and work experience at school, ensuring they leave education ready for work and for life.

I thought the Inbetweeners had finished?
When somebody asked us to join the party we thought it was one with curry and beer. Apologies @UKLabour for the misunderstanding and we won’t be defecting afraid #RedWall
Team #Prestwich of the @BurySouthCLP contingent representing at Prestwich Carnival
A GREAT turn out for Prestwich Carnival and parade this afternoon. So lovely to see so many smiling faces!
Labour offers a proper plan for change, to get Britain’s economy growing again so businesses and families can reap the rewards.
Our victory in Wakefield shows there's renewed optimism and hope.
Labour is back on the path to government👇🏼

I am actively thinking about launching my career as a cat walk model.
Boris Johnson has said he’s “actively thinking” about a third term in office.
The Prime Minister was asked by reporters in Kigali if he’d like to serve a full second term -- to 2028 or 2029, reports @AlexForsythBBC...and said...

As we come to the end of #ArmedForcesDay, we celebrate the special service our UK Forces personnel, veterans, and their families give to our country.
I would like to place on record my thanks to those who give up so much for us all. Thank you all
Was out tonight in the lovely weather, post by-election spreading the Labour message in Pilky Park. You can feel the switch that’s happening and it’s great to be a part of.

Proud of the Labour Council in Bury being one of the first in the country to provide help with the price of uniforms as the cost of living crisis continues to bite. https://www.burytimes.co.uk/news/20212692.thousands-families-bury-given-50-spend-school-uniforms/
What’s wrong Johnny? Did something bad happen last night?! 🫠
@Christian4BuryS Probably wouldn’t go around ‘fella’ing’ anybody..
What took you so long fella?
My letter of resignation to the Prime Minister.

We love to see it. Welcome to the party @simonlightwood I look forward to working with you towards the next Labour government.
With polls now closed, best of luck to @simonlightwood
Fingers crossed will have a new colleague come the morning 🤞
Good morning @redditchrachel why did you say that the government have legislated against fire and rehire on #bbcqt last night? You’ve done no such thing.
In fact, the government talked out and blocked @BarryGardiner’s Bill to do just that in October.
Just watched the ending of Obi-Wan, a great way to finish the series
The circle is now complete

MP @Christian4BuryS said during the debate of hearing reports of junior Jewish football players being being hissed at by players on the opposite side, replicating the noise of the gas chambers. https://aboutmanchester.co.uk/bury-mp-tells-of-anti-semitism-being-rife-at-junior-football-games/
This is a government that isn’t serious and doesn’t care about the rights of workers. If it was they would have acted by now.
Proud to have spoken in yesterdays debate. Racism has no place in football or society and needs to to be banished to the history books https://www.jewishnews.co.uk/mp-warns-jewish-children-are-receiving-antisemitic-abuse-on-the-football-pitch/
Fully backing James to not only be Labour’s next candidate but to win back and KEEP Bury North Red.
Just got the call. Proud to be long-listed to be Labour Candidate for Bury North. I look forward to all the conversations to come🌹
PMQs kicks off with question on our story about Boris Johnson discussing jobs for wife Carrie at COP and with royal family. Did he consider it, yes or no?
PM dismisses it as talk about “non-existent jobs”. So not a denial then…
How can you tell when the Prime Minister is lying?
His lips move.
The Prime Minister’s answer to my question could not have been clearer. Much like his answers on #PartyGate. And PPE contracts. And proroguing Parliament. Watch this space 👀 #PMQs
The Windrush generation helped build Britain.
But the Tories' hostile environment left many homeless, jobless and without healthcare. Victims are still waiting for the justice and compensation they deserve.
The LGBT+ community is disproportionately affected by alcohol harm, yet there are few dedicated LGBT+ support services in the UK.
Here, @dazlarrr from @ForwardTrust shares how he set up a support group for those who identify as LGBT+.

Enjoy them whilst you can. That clown is finished. All I know is I can sleep at night these days.
More foodbanks than McDonalds restaurants, a tanking economy, living standards through the floor. Nah you’re alright

Thank you Christian, for all your efforts in helping make those 4000 days a reality. https://twitter.com/Christian4BuryS/status/1539144474932264962
We have quite literally had a Conservative Prime Minister for over 4000 days.
12 years of failed government and somehow still blaming Labour for your shambles 🤡
A vision of @UKLabour's Britain... https://twitter.com/kateferguson4/status/1539136705776824321
The party *in power* is accusing a party *not in power* of failing to stop the rail strikes while doing literally nothing to stop rail strikes themselves.
You wouldn’t think they’d been in power for literally 12 years. Shove your petition and get round the table.

Happy Fathers Day to all the fellow Dads out there. Great to spend the day with the sprog but as always very bittersweet.
Sparing a thought for those who’s fathers are no longer with them. It’s been 26 years without dad and it’s still tough.
Stay strong
Grant, the country is facing the biggest rail strike in a generation and you haven’t spent a single second in talks to avert it.
Do your job rather than trying to incite division among working people.
Keir Starmer has spent 11 days refusing to condemn the rail strikes. On Wednesday he ordered his MPs not to take a stand against the militant unions.
Now we know why: In private, he's backing the strikes which will grind the country to a halt.

Gwarn Andy lad 💪🏼
It was great to meet @BernieTranders at the beginning of the week and I was sorry not to have been able to attend the debate on Monday. His piece gives food for thought though.

Today, my great grandmother Lily Ebert, a 98 year old Auschwitz survivor, went outside for the first time after being in hospital for 5 weeks.
“I appreciate the time that I have, thank you G-D.”

Hi Ash, I’m always happy to remain open minded on political issues & change my mind, I think we are all better for learning & compromising more, that’s one thing I’ve taken from the last 12 months.
Who knows if you invited me on Novara. We may learn something from each other!
People changing their minds on issues is, of course, welcome. But unless there’s also some account of why you seem to have 180’d in just a single year, it’s hard to escape the suspicion that perhaps you never believed in anything at all. https://twitter.com/Christian4BuryS/status/1536968728864227328
This is great news for constituents like mine and a real signal of intent from @AndyBurnhamGM
This is what happens when Labour is in power.
Treating myself to a light ale on #NationalBeerDay after a long (and very hot) day in Parliament. I hope you enjoy yours!
Has there ever been a more deluded Prime Minister?
Slow growth
Economy shrinking
Prices rising
Businesses suffering
Taxes rising
People burdened
Yet all he does is deny, delay and pretend he can’t see the them. The man is a clown 🤡
This International Domestic Workers Day I want to pay tribute to all those who keep our country moving on a daily basis.
The unsung heroes of society who deserve all our respect and a pay rise to boot.
The Rwanda flight scheme was never going to be legal, the government designed it to merely whip up more hate.
No person is illegal and safe and legal routes must be opened NOW
Courts - whether domestic or supranational - do not exist to do the government’s bidding.
A lot of people are failing to grasp this very basic feature of democracy.
I’m proud to be a member of @UsdawUnion and would advise everyone to join a union (but especially Usdaw 😉)
Many of the hard working rights working people have today are because of unions. We truly stand on the shoulder of giants.
#UsdawMembershipWeek is a great time to remind your colleagues how joining a union can help them👇
