This Armed Forces Day, and every day, thank you to all the men and women of our armed forces, past and present, who serve at home and abroad. The best of British values.

The choice is clearer than ever before:

Divided Tories propping up Boris Johnson with no plan to tackle the issues you are facing.

Or a united Labour Party with a plan to fix the cost of living crisis and restore trust in politics.

Labour will get Britain back on track.

People are being pricing out of parenting.

The Tory answer to the cost of living crisis is that parents should spend more time at work and less time with their kids.

Labour will build a Britain where children come first.

It’s time for a windfall tax on bumper oil and gas profits to bring down bills.

Tomorrow every Conservative MP will have the chance to vote for our plan to support people through this cost of living crisis.

What will you do this Summer?

How about Flying, Adventure Training, Shooting, Gaining new skills, qualifications and meeting like minded people?

#Team346 is now recruiting for our Summer 2022 Intake, so if you’re up for a new challenge this Summer get in touch now!

Thanks for the warm welcome at the official opening of the new labyrinth in Northumberland Park on World Labyrinth Day and in lovely Tynemouth sunshine. Well done to everyone involved especially the new Friends of Northumberland Park.

Don't forget, you have until 10:00pm tonight to cast your vote in the #LocalElections. The Cedarwood Trust is a designated polling station. #CedarwoodTrust

Getting out the vote in Valley Ward for Labour’s Brian Burdis. An experienced councillor totally committed to the community he serves. Vote Labour today.

In Monkseaton Sth with Labour’s Martin Murphy. Martin lives locally, is a teacher and before that was a Royal Navy Officer. An exceptional candidate who served our country and wants to serve his local community. Pls vote for Martin Murphy.

For the past four years I have been proud to serve as the first ever Labour Councillor for Monkseaton North. Together we have a achieved so much. I hope I can count on your support today so I can become the first ever Labour Councillor to be re-elected for Monkseaton North 🌹

A Tory cost of living crisis. Crime and ASB up. A Prime Minister who broke the law. Send a message to the Tories. Vote Labour.

Labour has transformed Whitley Bay and we have not finished the job yet! Don’t let Boris Johnson’s man sneak back in. Vote Labour on Thursday 🌹

People across the country tell me they can’t afford to pay their bills due to the Tories’ cost of living crisis.

Britain deserves better than this.

On Thursday, send the Tories a message they can’t ignore: #VoteLabour

NEW: $6.2bn profits for BP in first three months of this year.

The case for a one-off windfall tax on oil & gas producer profits cannot be ignored.

Yet still the Tories won’t back Labour’s plan to use it to cut energy bills.

On Thursday #voteLabour for a party on your side.

‘Teesside, Tyneside, all the same to him’: Johnson appears lost on campaign trail

The PM believes he was campaigning in Teesside. Actually he was in Whitley Bay North Tyneside. He doesn’t really care where he is or what he says. He doesn’t really care about who he meets or what they care about. Vote Labour on Thursday.

Good to see the PM in Whitley Bay showing Labour in local government.
In the last 10 years Labour has delivered regeneration in Whitley Bay -FACT. In the same period the Tory Govt cut £127 million in grants to North Tyneside - FACT

Today is Workers Memorial Day and I attended a service at St John’s Church Killingworth with Council Chair Davey Drummond and Mary Glindon MP. We remember all those killed, injured and made unwell by their work.

Fantastic performance of The Wedding Singer at Whitley Bay Playhouse. 2 performances tomorrow- well worth it. Honoured afterwards to make presentation to Katie Mason and Chantal Riley,Jt Chairs of W Bay Operatic Soc. the best of local theatre.

Prices are soaring and inflation is spiralling.

Under Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak, the UK is the only major economy hiking taxes for working people.

Labour has a plan to cut home energy bills by up to £600 and scrap the National Insurance rise.

The Conservatives have raised taxes 15 times in two years despite a cost of living crisis.

Labour plan would cut VAT on energy bills and our plan would save families up to £600, paid for by a one-off windfall tax on oil and gas producer profits.

#VoteLabour on Thursday 5 May.

NEW: Grim figures today show crime up, prosecutions & community penalties down.

- overall crime up 18% in 2yrs (inc 41% in fraud)

- charge rate down to a truly shameful 5.8% (compared to 15.5% in 2015)

Under the Tories more criminals are let off, more victims are let down /1

Great team out with Michael Morris on Beaumont Park in St Mary’s Ward. Spoke to many residents who are proud of where they live but say they feel let down by the Tories. Some intending to use 5th May to send that message.

Delivering for Steve Cox today on Preston Grange. Steve really is the local candidate. An experienced voice for all the residents of Collingwood Ward.

Arrests by police have fallen by a shocking 50% under the Tories.

While crimes reported to police have gone up.

Prosecutions are also heavily down.

Under the Tories, more criminals are getting off & more victims are let down. Britain deserves better

More lies from my @N_TynesideTory opponent.
No, @GuyOpperman didn’t “successfully fight for 24 hour care to be returned to Hexham” - in fact, Hexham’s urgent care centre is open 8am-10pm, 2 hours less than Rake Lane’s!

In our ‘Folk Who Shaped Shields’ exhibition we are hosting information prepared by ⁦@HistoricEngland⁩ & ⁦@NTCouncilTeam⁩ supporting the regeneration of North Shields. Come & take a look #HistoricHighStreets #NorthShieldsHeritageActionZone

Congratulations to the winners in the North Tyneside 10K Road Race and well done to all the runners. A sunny day, big turnout and a lovely route. A brilliant advert for our fantastic Coast.

A great pleasure to speak at and take part in the Good Friday Procession of Witness organised by Churches Together in North Shields. Processing from Alexander Scott Park thro a town undergoing renewal. Good to resume this part of N Shields history.

Massive drop in neighbourhood policing under the Tories is letting communities down.

Crime is up, prosecutions down, more criminals are getting off, more victims let down.

Labour will bring back neighbourhood policing w new Neighbourhood Police Hubs

NEW: Inflation is up again, now at 7%.

The Conservatives need to get a grip on the cost of living crisis.

But instead they're distracted by their own scandal and wrongdoing - all while they load taxes on working people.

Britain deserves better.

Labour is on your side.

Campaigning in Tynemouth where Cllr Sarah Day is widely recognised as an experienced champion for the ward. Lots of anger though against lawbreaker Boris Johnson and a clear view that he must go.

Campaigning today in Cullercoats - good name recognition for Cllr Willie Samuel and an appreciation of the work he’s doing for the local community. Also strong criticism of Rishi Sunak’s tax evasion and the way the Tories are behaving.
