During an urgent question in the @HouseofCommons this afternoon, I raised the very real concerns expressed to me by local hospitality as the ‘perfect storm’ of inflation and surging energy costs start to bite.

Great to have the opportunity once again to raise #AorticDissection at #PMQs - including the hard work of @AorticDissectCT and their fantastic patient resources videos featuring @WhisperingBob -

Our Co-chairs @BrineMP & @LizBarkerLords representing the APPG at the reception to celebrate the @GlobalFund @PeterASands

We should be proud of the work the Global Funds work and this is the time to step up not step back.

Together we can end new transmissions of HIV.

(2/2) 77 MPs from 7 different parties - covering every end of the political spectrum - have supported my call for organisations to commit to not digitally manipulate a person's body proportions in any direct imagery.
Such wide ranging support shows how important an issue this is!

Patients, families and health care professionals come together in the #aorticdissection lunchbox session at #SCTS2022 on Sunday to share their outlook and ambitions for the future of #aortic care.

Come and join in. We’re looking forward to seeing you there 🙌 #Aorta #AortaEd

Today supported Community Speedwatch volunteers in Chandlers Ford - and were joined by local MP Steve Brine. Over two hours, 37 vehicles were detected >35mph in a 30mph limit, with some at >45mph. Please watch your speed and drive safely #Fatal5 #90055 @BrineMP @CommunitySpeedw

Thank you to @BrineMP for his support on the #DownSyndromeBill which yesterday received Royal Assent to become the #DownSyndromeAct. As a result, those with #DownSyndrome in this country will now get better access to the services they need. @NDSPolicyGroup

Dr Liam Fox MP @LiamFox

Delighted that @BrineMP is supporting the #DownSyndromeBill which has its Second Reading in the @HouseofCommons on Friday. This Bill is a world first. @NDSPolicyGroup #DownSyndrome

This evening at 10pm, I will joining the lovely @BBCcarolynquinn on @BBCRadio4 Westminster Hour.

Today in the @HouseofCommons I presented my Breast Cancer Screening Bill and, after 12+ years working in this area, I explained why I care so much. @hantschronicle

Today the GovM published a set of credible proposals for the future of SEND and how we help our children. It's a subject I am actively pursuing right now and these ideas bring real hope for parents and young people. See my exchange with @nadhimzahawi in the @HouseofCommons.

We have another award! This time a commendation from Phillip Sykes, the High Sheriff of Hampshire for our new email based prison advice service which we've recently established. Thank you to Sarah (our Chair of Trustees), for collecting the award.

The disposal of @ATR_Winchester is causing anxiety locally as we wait to see what comes next on this vast space. Today in the @HouseofCommons I raised this (again) but also questioned this aspect of the IR given the far reaching demands we continue to make of our armed forces.

I have a growing volume of casework stuck because of unacceptable delays at the @DVLAgovuk. Today I raised the issue with the Prime Minister at PMQs.

Thank you @BrineMP for outlining why a #SmokefreeFund is needed to #LevelUp ahead of the #SpringStatement tomorrow.

Using tobacco industry funds, without their interference, could pay for tobacco control measures to⬇️#HeathDisparities across 🇬🇧

Want to sponsor a family under the Homes for Ukraine scheme but don't have links with any refugees? Independent matching services are getting up and running - this one by "Reset" is now live:

As I said at the @CommonsDCMS meeting earlier this tin-eared request from @ChelseaFC beggars belief. It is not the fault of @Boro and the @FA should have no truck with it whatsoever

Last night, continuing one area of work I started while in Government, I hosted a dinner for MPs and Peers with the @THTorguk to discuss our HIV Action Plan plus next steps.

Great talking with @BrineMP today about affordable addiction treatment, including Help Me Stop's 2022 partnership with @Trinity_Winch

Too slow, too robotic. My rather heated exchange with the Immigration Minister this lunchtime in the @HouseofCommons. @hantschronicle

This afternoon I raised the incredible work of @Trinity_Winch in the @HouseofCommons and confirmed the Secretary of State will visit soon to see the groundbreaking work being done here. @hantschronicle

My exchange with the Home Secretary this lunchtime as we announced the hugely welcome (and expanded) Ukrainian Family Scheme and humanitarian sponsorship pathway. Constituents needing help, or local organisations who want to sponsor, please email me right away. @hantschronicle

Our One Nation letter to the Prime Minister yesterday on refugees from Ukraine which we had the chance to discuss with him last night.

Following #COP26 our focus is now on holding Ministers to their promises and delivering our Net Zero Plan. My next "AsktheMinister" event will be with COP President @AlokSharma_RDG in Winchester on the evening of April 7 2022. Register your interest at

We’re stepping up our support to the people of Ukraine with the announcement of £40 million of further humanitarian aid.

This brings the total amount of UK Government aid pledged to Ukraine this year to £140 million.

This is absolutely the right decision from @uefa. The wider football community, including the @premierleague now need to examine every corner of our national game. Everything is on the table.

The Government’s plan for living with Covid is very welcome if not way overdue. I want to study carefully the proposals and discuss them with Ministers, which I will now do. Learning to live with this thing is not a choice - it’s a reality.

Pleasure today to visit @Trinity_Winch in my constituency today and to hear about their exciting new joint venture to tackle drug and alcohol addiction in our city. Watch this space ...

Great to have a visit from Steve Brine MP today. We had an engaging conversation about young people’s mental health and the support we provide. @BrineMP #youth #winchester #counselling #charity #youngpeople #MentalHealthMatters #mentalhealth

We cannot carry on with the situation we have around children's mental health services. See what I said in the UK House of Commons this morning after hearing from so many constituents about their experiences;

Our Co-Chair @BrineMP & @NAT_AIDS_Trust @deborahagold in @timesredbox Let’s end new HIV transmissions in the UK & abroad

Today the @HouseofCommons heard from the Health team about our catch up plan and our new 10 year cancer plan. See what I had to say

Many distractions but major policy announcements being made today. Some weighty reading has just landed on my desk in the HoC Library. #levellingup

This evening I am with @AlokSharma_RDG and the @CEN_HQ talking through some of the #COP26 commitments and our plans towards UK Net Zero. A giant of a Minister. @winacc
