Brilliant Fri afternoon with @PhilSurveyor @SKurtzCWSP & @Simonhartmp at St Oswalds VA school, talking to the children at assembly about what we all do. Some great questions from them! Thank you head teacher, Michael Scale & staff. @Pembrokeshire #democracy #localpolitics

I don't like paying more tax, nobody does. But colleagues who were right on the need to restore the UK's economic stability & credibility can't criticise when the Chancellor does just that. Difficult but necessary decisions.

The era of cakeism is over.

As Chancellor I made it my priority to protect the most vulnerable, with £37 billion of help for households.

Now, as Prime Minister, I’m proud that we’re delivering another vital payment to those who need it most.

Great to catch up with @RishiSunak and @DavidTCDavies today in Downing Street.

Across our Union, we’re determined to deliver for the most vulnerable.

After a brief hiatus, I’m back on @Simonhartmp ’s team - this time in the Whips Office.

An absolute honour to be part of @RishiSunak ’s ministerial lineup, getting his agenda through Parliament.

After the last few weeks the very least we can do for the country is get the right Prime Minister this time. No time for experiments; no time for frivolity; no time to line up a job offer. This means choosing someone serious, tested, competent & kind.
For me that’s Rishi Sunak.

It is exactly this hateful language - regularly expressed by the more vocal nationalist activists - that lies behind fewer and fewer people choosing to enter politics and in turn reduced public respect for those who do.

It’s confirmed. Plaid would ‘afford’ independence by:

🤦 Cutting massive swathes of crucial public spending

🥴 Expecting the UK to pay our share of debt AND pensions (good luck)

🤔 And we STILL don’t know what currency they would use

Wales doesn’t want independence.

Huge challenges ahead for Councils in Wales and I'm sure @WelshLGA know that it's Welsh Government, not UK, who are responsible for funding Councils in Wales.

👇🏼 I can only assume this tweet must be a genuine error 😳...

Behind every Minister are teams of dedicated, hardworking people who often get forgotten about in reshuffles.

Jack is one of the good guys & was brilliant at the Wales Office helping forge strong links between the WO, No10 & us in Cardiff Bay. Best of luck with the next chapter!
