RIP Dame Deborah. Her exceptional campaign to help those living with cancer won the whole nation’s admiration, and started important conversations about living with the ‘big C’.

She leaves behind an incredible legacy, and my thoughts are with her loved ones.

In 1 year at @DHSCgovuk, we've:
👉🏾Opened 90+ community diagnostic centres delivering 1 million scans to bust Covid backlogs
👉🏾Cut longest waiting times by 2/3rds
👉🏾Launched booster vaccines to live with Covid
👉🏾Progressed our largest ever investment plan for @NHSuk & social care

Language matters. I have made clear that the word ‘woman’ should not be removed from key women’s health pages.

I have been assured that the changes highlighted below, as well as others, are being reversed.

🇬🇧 is committed to protecting the 🌎 from another pandemic & ensuring we all learn lessons from Covid.

Our £25 million investment will help countries improve their healthcare systems & prepare for challenges caused by outbreaks of infectious diseases.

Great to see innovations like this being pioneered by @CUH_NHS, with their medical students becoming the first in the world to learn with holographic patients as part of simulation training. 👇🏽

Today we’ve published the draft Mental Health Bill which will reform outdated mental health laws.

The Mental Health Bill will improve rights for people:

▶️ with a learning disability & autistic people
▶️ with severe mental illness, including those in the criminal justice system

We can be very proud of UK leadership on this. 🇬🇧🇺🇦

The international community still has much more to do in responding to this brutal ongoing invasion.

The NHS has reduced 2-year waits by 2/3s since January thanks to our plan to bust the Covid backlogs. 📉

As part of this I announced a new 'right to choose'. The longest waiters must be offered an alternative provider where they can be seen more quickly.

Very encouraging results on two Omicron-adapted vaccine candidates from @pfizer and @BioNTech_Group.

I look forward to seeing further data.

This wasn't an easy story to share - but I hope it persuades you to check in on somebody this weekend.

If you are struggling yourself, please contact @samaritans now. Things will get better for you 🙏🏽

Congratulations to our #Bromsgrove Town Crier for wining the Bromyard Town Crier competition. 🗣🔔

It was a real privilege to present his award and to thank him for his many years service with the NHS.

The NHS in England is on track to virtually eliminate 2-yr waits, as part of our plan to bust the Covid backlogs.

2/3s of NHS trusts have either eliminated the number of people waiting 2-yrs for elective treatment or have less than 20 on the list. 👏🏽

Around 20 million lives were saved by Covid vaccines globally in the first year of the vaccination programme, a new study shows.

The power of the vaccine is undeniable - if eligible, take up the offer to protect yourself as we live with this virus.

ICYMI @sajidjavid is right - Labour attack an improving NHS in England...but it is worse in Labour-run Wales.

1-in-5 people on a waiting list, 1-in-4 of them for over a year, and 70K waiting over two years - 3 times the number for all of England... and it's getting worse!

Suicide is the biggest cause of death in men under the age of 50.

@SajidJavid met bereaved families @PAPYRUS_tweets to hear their experiences as part of the work to develop a 10-year suicide prevention strategy to reduce the number of people taking their own lives.

I met with bereaved families today at @PAPYRUS_tweets who tragically lost their sons to suicide.

No one should go through this.

I want a new 10 year suicide prevention plan that will make a difference. Share your views so we can make this happen:

I know the devastating impact of suicide after I lost my brother Tariq.

Today I spoke at @PAPYRUS_tweets on actions being taken - from refreshing the suicide prevention plan, better services for the bereaved & tech to understand the causes of suicide.

We must do everything we can to ensure that human hearts never again are allowed to breed such hatred.

It was an honour to visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial.
