Great to be part of the 2024 “Gold Party” awards with Hatch Warren Guides & Rangers, and to cerebrate the crucial role every volunteer has in every Guide unit @Girlguiding @GirlguidingHN

Great to be able to show Transport Sec ⁦@Mark_J_Harper⁩ how the extra £4m given to Hampshire County Council in Nov is being used to fix our roads in Basingstoke-here in South Ham & soon in Kempshott Lane.

Spending most of today in the debate on the Criminal Justice Bill-still fighting to get criminal law to protects everyone, especially women who are disproportionately affected, from the making, taking and sharing of intimate sexual images without their consent.

So much support for the @CentenaryAction meeting this evening in @UKParliament discussing the actions still needed so we move away from having 2 men elected to the @HouseofCommons for every 1 woman to a #50/50Parliament by 2028-the centenary of the #EqualFranchiseAct

Thanks to @fawcettsociety for your support at @AppgWiP Annual General Meeting this afternoon where more members of @UKHouseofLords & @HouseofCommons pledged their support to make #GeneralElection2024 a zero misogyny campaign. Great to welcome pupils from ⁦@MertonInfants⁩ to ⁦@HouseofCommons⁩ at lunchtime-they heard from @UKParlEducation⁩ about how Parliament works & then we met in Westminster Hall-the oldest part of Parliament. Thanks to the fantastic school staff who made this happen!

12 May is International Nurse Day, anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birthday. To celebrate the central role of nurses in the NHS, last week I went into Basingstoke Hospital to meet our Clinical Matron for Unscheduled Care who is at the centre of planning the new Hospital A&E

Dropped into Cornerstones Nursery-good to hear the extra 15 hours govt funded childcare for 2 year olds is well received by Basingstoke parents. 2/3 of 2 year olds already attend childcare in Basingstoke- 3 new nurseries already in the pipeline as more funded childcare roles out

Huge thank you to all @BSKconservative Conservative Candidates who worked hard for the loc elections and to our army of dedicated volunteers. The 4 not reelected will be missed; and congratulations to both Cllr Richard Court and @ArunNeni for running such successful campaigns.

Campaigning today in Hatch Warren and Beggarwood, we were joined by @theresa_may!

Great to have her endorsement for our first class local team.

Fantastic support today for ⁦@TaylorParnell15⁩ our hardworking ⁦@Conservatives⁩ candidate in #HatchWarrenBeggarwood including from ⁦@theresa_may⁩ who joined the ⁦@BSKconservative⁩ team of volunteers & Councillors

Very much enjoyed the annual Bluebell Morning in Steventon in aid of ⁦⁦@smhbasingstoke⁩ This is the enchanting woodland Jane Austen enjoyed when she lived in Steventon for 26 of her 41 year life and wrote her most famous Novels.

Waiting to move my Private Members Bill in ⁦@UKParliament⁩ this morning recognising the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association as International Organisations ⁦@CPA_Secretariat⁩ ⁦@CPA_UK⁩ ⁦@ICRC⁩

A wonderful celebration of our Basingstoke community this morning with the Grand Opening of Nanhe Kadam Little Steps play group and the new Sewer Community Foodbank helping distribute food no longer usable in supermarkets, to people in need rather than adding to landfill.

Out supporting my old friend Cllr Richard Court this afternoon-he’s standing for re-election to represent Kempshott & Buckskin on May 2nd-Richard, his late wife Anne & family are so well known amongst residents-good to meet so many supporters ⁦@BSKconservative⁩
