Another manifesto commitment achieved.

A pleasure to attend and support the first face to face meeting of ⁦@HolocaustUK⁩ to hear the incredible story of a man who escaped Auschwitz as described in ⁦⁦@Freedland⁩ new book. It is so important that we never forget the horrors of the Holocaust.

Last week I was in Belfast listening to business leaders and it's clear that there needs to be a sustainable solution for the Northern Ireland Protocol.
It’s the UK Government’s priority to deal with the Protocol issues, and to support those businesses affected.

Financial Secretary to the Treasury @lucyfrazermp and Luxembourg’s Minister of Finance @yuriko_backes met today to sign a new Double Taxation Convention between our countries - this ensures cross-border trade and investment will continue to thrive in the future🇱🇺🇬🇧 @MinFinLux.

Tonight I will be voting to support the PM who was elected by the British people. We need to continue our work to improve the lives of those we were elected to serve & focus our energies on the challenges that face us. We will be judged on our delivery at the next election.

Beautiful service at Ely Cathedral for the Jubilee. Good to join ⁦@PCCCambs⁩ and many others to celebrate 70 years of the Queen’s reign

This week I've been working from the Darlington Economic Campus where I met new @hmtreasury staff and toured the fantastic future offices.

I also hosted a Treasury Connect at nearby @ThornLighting and popped out for lunch with @JohnGlenUK and @lucyfrazermp.

Chancellor @RishiSunak, Economic Secretary @JohnGlenUK and Financial Secretary @lucyfrazermp spent the day at the Darlington Economic Campus, where they toured the new offices and joined a Jubilee Celebration tea with staff members.

Combined with the plans we’ve already announced, we are supporting families with the cost of living to the tune of £37 billion or 1.5% of GDP.

That’s higher than countries like France, Germany, and Italy.

Search all the support:

Carbon leakage is a global problem that needs a global solution as we transition to Net Zero.Alongside our international efforts, the UK intends to launch a consultation later this year on possible domestic options so we are ready to take action if needed.

Today was a different ‘day in the office’ as we were joined by Policing Minister @kitmalthouse.

He was keen to hear about the work we’re doing to tackle knife crime, before joining us on patrol in #Peterborough and visiting our recruitment event in Cathedral Square.

Enough is enough. I’ve prepared a package of sanctions against @nusuk following concerning incidents over many years. Disappointed it has come to this but proud to stand up for Jewish students. NUS will not have a seat at the table until we see real change

Growing the economy is one of the best ways to help with the cost of living and that’s why I’m pleased today’s figures show the UK economy is continuing to grow.

The economy is now bigger than it was before Covid hit, and growing faster than the US, Germany, France, and Italy.
