#ArmedForcesDay parade in Chingford and Chingford Mount. A day to reflect and thank the hard work and dedication of our servicemen and women who work all year round to keep us safe and remember those who gave their lives for the freedom we enjoy today.

Today on #ArmedForcesDay2022 🇬🇧 I want to thank all those who are serving and who have served to defend to our country and the families and loved ones who support them.

I’m pleased that having raised concerns about the nomination of HikVision for a @thebsia security award, the nomination has been withdrawn. Correct decision. We should be banning this company, not honouring them. #Uyghurs @ipacglobal @lukedepulford

The New York Times studied China’s surveillance capabilities by examining more than 100,000 government bidding documents.

China’s ambition to collect personal data is more expansive and invasive than previously known, our investigation found.

'Brexit was a revolt by the unexalted, ordinary public who said "we've never stopped believing in our country".'

Hong Kong has plunged further in a human rights ranking report, bringing it on a par with Saudi Arabia in some indicators, and closer to converging with China as the Communist party government deepens its control on the region. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/jun/22/hong-kong-plunges-lower-in-global-human-rights-index

I'm deeply concerned to hear @hikvision has been nominated for a @thebsia security award.
@ipacglobal colleagues and others have been arguing that @hikvision, which has facilitated the mass abuse of #Uyghurs, should be removed out of every UK building. Rescind the nomination...

Children’s hospices like @HavenHouseCH provide vital support for children and young people with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition. Everything they do is #ForTheChildren – helping families make the most of their lives together, no matter how short.

Great to meet the team @BreastCancerNow and support #NoTimeToWaste calls for quicker breast cancer diagnosis. Catching cancer early makes a real difference and more must be done to ensure there are no barriers to getting an early diagnosis and access to breast cancer specialists.

The foundations of Britain’s past successes are still there & strong, this should guide us as we plan for how we should act post-Brexit. Much depends on whether our governing elites can re-discover the self-confidence that was once the hall-mark of Britain

Only Remainer elites have lost confidence in Great Britain. Many ordinary un-exalted members of the public never stopped believing in their country. The elites who run Whitehall must learn from them and embrace the opportunities Brexit affords.

I've been struck by the overwhelming support of Chingford and Woodford Green residents who have opened up their homes to families who had fled the war in Ukraine. It was a great pleasure to welcome some of the families to Parliament today for a visit.

On Tuesday, the European Court of Human Rights blocked the flight to Rwanda, despite three UK courts - the High Court, the Appeal Court and the Supreme Court - after careful consideration, agreeing the flight could go ahead.

Julia and ex Tory Party leader Sir Iain Duncan Smith MP discuss the "hypocrisy" of those opposed to the Rwanda plan, after the first flight got cancelled.

"They are in a safe country now which is France. They could settle there, so this is a choice issue."

'This has turned into a legal farce'

Sir Iain Duncan Smith says it is 'ridiculous' that the government's plan to deport migrants to Rwanda was halted after an intervention by the European Court of Human Rights.

It’s time for a statutory levy on the gambling industry. It goes to the heart of Adam Smith’s values. Governments need to take action when markets act against the wellbeing of the people they serve.

It is clear that the Chinese authorities did not provide the full, unfettered access to Xinjiang for the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights that we and our international partners have long called for.

“We have spoken to many frontline workers who say they are terrified [to call out ‘honour abuse’]. They are paralysed by the fear of litigation or the accusation of being a bigot.” @CristinaOhq told @Nigel_Farage

IPAC 🇳🇿 Co-Chairs @IngridLeary and Simon O’Connor express their concern over:
- 🇨🇳 deals being done which show intent to “militarise the Pacific”, and;
- cynicism of the timing of those deals ahead of Pacific Forum meetings.
