My mother was a miner's daughter, did 'A' level Latin at Ammanford grammar school and, over fifty years later, can still read the language fluently. We've lost something in this country...

This is a really important deadline - if you think you might be entitled to Pension Credit, then tomorrow is deadline to qualify for winter fuel payment.

Keir Starmer said in the Liaison Committee hearing today that he wouldn’t have done anything differently since becoming PM if he had his time again!

Is he for real?!

I didn’t realise that his disastrous start as PM had been by design, but it appears so!

No show again from @DavidLammy

He and the Government are refusing to answer important questions about the future of the Islands, but they keep telling us all their decision to surrender one of our key strategic assets… https://x.com/i/web/status/1869431818254155857

Credit where it's due. Labour MPs are waking up to how morally bankrupt their government has become in five short promise breaking months.

“The highest performing country outside East Asia” in maths @Samfr reports. A huge achievement, which will echo through society for decades as the kids benefiting from it go through life. Hopefully we might see an end to sneering at the idea there have been genuine successes in… https://x.com/i/web/status/1864260276767600755

When the @trussliz Government briefly had to pay over 5% interest to borrow money it led the news bulletins and Labour claimed it was a crisis. #JustSaying

I told my constituents that I did not support paying compensation to WASPI women. If that lost me votes, so be it.

Labour, though, just lied.

Lie after lie after lie.

Corroding our democracy and destroying trust. No wonder people feel betrayed.

WTAF?! Is anyone else listening to Farming Today on @BBCr4today? So it turns out farmers were right and the Government is WRONG. Far, far more farmers will be impacted by IHT than they are saying. Listen on @BBCSounds

Finally we get to see what Labour have known all along...

That their winter fuel payment cut is going to plunge 100,000 pensioners into poverty.

This is a political choice. And it's the wrong one.

If a Tory chancellor lied on their CV:

Chris Bryant would call for their resignation every 2 secs

The PM would be asked about it non-stop

Led By Donkeys would have a billboard up in their constituency

Angela Rayner would be in a fit of rage

Honesty suddenly no longer matters

The Conservative Party I lead is united in its opposition to Labour’s Family Farm Tax.

Britain cannot survive without it’s farmers. We will fight to get this cruel tax reversed.

I'm outside Downing Street with thousands of farmers to send a clear message to the Prime Minister to protect our rural communities and #StopTheFamilyFarmTax now.

Farmers feed us and now they need us. Fantastic to be with so many Conservative colleagues to send the message to the Prime Minister to #StopTheFamilyFarmTax.

@SteveReedMP Steve, I’m a single, fourth generation farmer. My family farm is the English average of 88 hectares (220 acres). Altogether, it’s worth around £3M (house, shed, land). Upon my death, that’ll leave a tax bill of circa £400k. It generates around £25k per annum. This policy is madness

After ‘looking calmly’ at Labour’s tax plans, @DanielZeichner, a typical mid-sized, 350-acre family farm in my patch has had their tax bill calculated at £500k, which equals 12 years profit. Can they start to panic now?

Trying to deliver clean power to an unrealistic timeline will waste billions, put up bills and destroy public support for the transition.

@Ed_Miliband's fanaticism is a threat to our national security.

Keir Starmer doesn’t get farming. It takes decades to learn the skills, and generations to make it a success.

Keir’s Family Farm Tax will force families to sell their farms, putting farmers out of business and crippling the industry.

http://stopthefarmtax.com

The message from farmers I’ve met is clear: Labour’s Family Farm Tax is going to cripple the industry.

If we lose our family farms, we won’t be getting them back.

I’m clear that we oppose these taxes, and we would reverse them.
