When my friend Sarah came to visit me in Parliament, she introduced me to @MannersCost who runs @poets_in, a creative charity to help people who struggle with their mental health.

Rest in peace to a beautiful and inspiring soul, Dame Deborah James.

An amazing lady who shared so much love for her family and will certainly be remembered for her great courage, fundraising and awareness for such an important cause.

Reading to children and engaging with their creativity is so important for development. @PhoenixArtUK

This evening I attended the Derby West Indian Community Association’s Windrush Thanksgiving Service at Trinity Church in Derby.

A truly heartfelt service.

Amazing news that we are one step closer to a takeover for @dcfcofficial with Clowes Developments announced the preferred bidder.

Like all fans, I will be monitoring developments during the exclusivity period very closely as the administrators and the EFL work to secure a deal.

Always a great time to be had at the @DerbyCountyShow .

Excellent fun with plenty to do and see and so many great businesses and organisations.

Huge well done to all of the organisers who do such a good job every year of bringing the event together.
@PhoenixArtUK

Armed Forces Day is a chance for us to recognise the extraordinary service that military personnel provide in order to protect the UK and its allies. The sacrifices these individuals make are prevalent in every aspect of our lives.

This is welcome news for @dcfcofficial, its fans and the local community. I will continue to monitor progress on developments but it is positive to see Pride Park now in new hands, and the @efl Owners and Directors test underway.

Although Darley Abbey Bridge is closed, you can still access the fantastic businesses operating in the mills via Haslams Lane.

One of these is the cotton works. All information is available on their website.

I know that the ongoing process of bringing Derby County out of administration continues to affect the mental health of supporters who care deeply about their club.

During Cervical Screening Awareness Week, I would urge everybody who is eligible to book in for a screening as it could save your life. It saves 7/10 cases but 1 in 3 people do not attend screenings. This needs to change.

This week has been #MensHealthWeek. It is vital that we understand and raise awareness on male physical and mental health.

Below is a ‘DIY MOT’ that you can do for yourself https://www.menshealthforum.org.uk/diy-man-mot
