Following the huge success of this trial, the NHS should adopt self-testing for cervical cancer.

Before Covid, the system was reluctant to rely on self-testing, but the pandemic proved we needn't be, and these trial results prove that once again.

As the State Opening of Parliament takes place later today, it's crucial that harnessing the power of technology, particularly AI, is at the heart of policy.

This is just the beginning—AI in health tech will continue to revolutionise care.

It’s amazing to see how far we've come. Just 5 years ago, when I was Health Sec, I first saw this tech being developed at the QEH in Birmingham. Fast forward to today, and the first patient has received a personalised vaccine against bowel cancer at that same wonderful hospital.

I'm proud to leave Parliament as a Conservative MP after two decades serving my country in opposition and in government. I wish Rishi and all my colleagues all the best in the campaign to come.
