Condolences @alexburghart. I was at school with 'Bob' Boas. He lit the place up with his remarkable intelligence and charisma. What a loss.

It's been a privilege to serve as Lord Chancellor. My deepest thanks to the brilliant lawyers, @moj public servants and @hmpps professionals who have supported me in this ancient and essential role. I have sought to do my duty, and send my successor every good wish #ruleoflaw

Congratulations to Max Wilkinson on his victory. This is a great personal achievement, and he will now serve an exceptional community – made up of talented, humane, thoughtful and decent people. His success will be #Cheltenham’s success, and I wish him well.

Take it from someone who has appeared in a few TV debates: if you can only talk about the past, like Keir Starmer did tonight, it’s because you don’t have any plan for the future. @RishiSunak does.

SNAP POLL/ Who performed best overall in tonight's debate?

Rishi Sunak: 51%
Keir Starmer: 49%

Antimicrobial resistance is a global emergency posing a vast threat to our health, development and security. Global deaths from AMR are nearly 5 million a year.

We must do more, together. That’s why we’re committing £85 million to support the international community in tackling…

Vile rapists have no place on our streets or in our homes. Data published yesterday shows beyond doubt our plan is working – with adult rape prosecutions the highest they’ve been since 2010.

This a major step forward in our mission to ensure survivors see justice delivered.

MPs have this week voted to legislate for a new offence in our Criminal Justice Bill of creating sexually explicit deepfakes.

These damaging and degrading images have no place in our society. I told @thesun why we must tackle them 👇

Shocked at the attack on prison officers carrying out their duties today in France. My thoughts are with those killed and injured, their loved ones and colleagues. The UK stands with our French partners @justice_gouv @E_DupondM.

I had a welcome discussion with @AndriyKostinUa and Minister Maliuska @Minjust_gov_ua on our collective resolve to support Ukraine’s justice system - vital to ensure that once it wins the war, #Ukraine wins the peace too #G7

Today I met with Canadian Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Arif Virani @MinJusticeEn, and US Attorney General, Merrick Garland @TheJusticeDept.

We discussed our shared commitment to strengthen Ukraine’s justice system - crucial to unlocking international investment

I met with fellow G7 Justice Ministers today including @E_DupondM, @MinGiustizia and Japan’s Hiroaki Kadoyama.

We discussed military, financial and legal support for Ukraine, and how strengthening their justice system can help Ukraine win the peace as well as the war.

Uniting in support of Ukraine.
Preventing illegal migration.
Tackling organised crime.

Great to meet with my @G7 Justice counterparts to address these global priorities.

Poisonous ideologies and vile extremism have no place in modern Britain. This announcement will ensure the people who spread this hate can’t step foot in our country. We must always stand firm in defending the core British values of freedom, democracy and the rule of law.

We are now man-marking a record 15,700 offenders with electronic tags to keep the public safe.

These tags serve as a constant reminder to thousands of offenders that they are being watched: break the rules and face the consequences.

It was a pleasure to catch up with @justicenzgovt Minister Paul Goldsmith this week and reaffirm the close relationship between our two countries.

We discussed our shared challenges and the importance of technology to ensure everyone has swift access to justice.
