⏰ 🗳️ There is an important deadline tomorrow! This is the first General Election where all British voters will need to show government-approved photo identification in order to vote. If you don’t have the correct photo ID, you will not be allowed to vote on polling day.
I’ve really enjoyed meeting with local artists as part of Bucks Art Weeks. I managed to get to a number of the venues, including 8 out of the 10 on the Chalfonts trail, before the event ended today. I saw some really beautiful works of art 1/2
Really enjoyed my morning in Amersham celebrating Refugee Week. Our area has such a rich history of welcoming refugees from around the world, who have enriched our communities. Thank you to the organisers and all who took part.
I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone - including my fellow candidates - for how supportive you’ve been this week as I had to take some time away from the campaign for family reasons. It really has been a great reminder of how wonderful our community is. 1/2
Eid al-Adha Mubarak!
Great to meet local authors Joanna Wallace and Denise Beddows at the Gerrards Cross Bookshop this morning, to celebrate Independent Bookshops Week. #IndieBookshopWeek
Lovely to catch up with the amazing @sarahgreenLD in Chesham today. Postal votes landing very soon there so thanks to all who came out to help keep Chesham and Amersham @LibDems 💛
Was lovely to make a start on this year’s Art Trail in Chalfont St Peter - looking forward to collecting more stamps on my visitor’s card across the next few weeks while this wonderful festival is on!
Was good to start the day today joining my Amersham Liberal Democrat colleagues at their market stall.
Thoroughly enjoyed the Green Festival held at the Chiltern Open Air Museum today! @ChilternOAM
Thank you to everyone who made this year’s Chesham Carnival another enjoyable day!
Good to speak to volunteers from the British Legion at their stall and then see the Community Fridge in action in Chalfont St Giles this morning - plus a great coffee from the Deli!
I was glad to attend tonight’s beacon lighting ceremony in Chalfont St Peter and join others in marking the remarkable events of D-Day. Thank you to everyone who organised and took part in tonight’s event, and those who arranged other services and ceremonies today.
This Liberal Democrat Party Election Broadcast was shown on TV last night, and has had a wonderful reception from those who saw it, or watched later on social media. 1/2
The Prime Minister has announced that a General Election will take place on July 4th. I am really looking forward to speaking with local residents over the coming weeks - thank you to those who have already sent messages of support! 1/3
“But you don’t look unwell..!” #IBDMyths
Crohn’s and Colitis are invisible illnesses, affecting 1 in 123 people in the UK.
I’m supporting @CrohnsColitisUK this #WorldIBDDay, to raise awareness and tackle myths about Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

Too many women continue to suffer the effects of surgical mesh. Today I asked the Government what they are doing to make compensation for these women a reality. #redressnow
Earlier today I asked the Minister to meet with me to discuss a loophole that allows parents with overseas assets to avoid paying child maintenance.
Great visit with Year 6 today! Thoroughly enjoyed answering all the questions.
It was an honour to meet with Ukrainian veterans in Parliament yesterday. Heorhii and Slava both recently completed the London Marathon to raise money for other veterans who have been injured and had amputations as a result of the war.
Yesterday I met with the Environment Agency and discussed the flooding in the Chalfonts.
Chag Sameach!
Proud to be casting my votes tonight against the Government’s appalling #Rwanda Bill
Great to meet up with pupils from St Mary's C of E Primary School, Amersham in Parliament yesterday. We talked about ways to tackle plastic pollution #BigPlasticCount
There is a public drop-in session about the problems with flooding in the Chalfonts tonight in Chalfont St Peter: 5.30pm-7.30pm at The Hub (Gold Hill Baptist Church, Church Lane, Chalfont St Peter, SL9 9RF).
Today is #WorldParkinsonsDay. Around 153,000 people in the UK have Parkinson's, and everyone’s journey is different. For info & support visit @ParkinsonsUK or http://parkinsons.org.uk.
Today the River Chess has reached a grim milestone. @thameswater have been discharging sewage into the Chess for over 1,000 continuous hours now. The Chess is a chalk stream - a globally rare and precious ecosystem. 1/2
The #LoanChargeScandal continues to ruin lives. I am pleased to join colleagues from across the political spectrum in writing to the Chancellor to raise HMRC's continuing disregard for the recommendations of the Morse Review
It's been a wonderful weekend for football in our area. Many congratulations to @cheshamutdfc and @AmershamTownFC for securing promotion as champions in their respective leagues. Wishing both teams the best of luck for next season!
