We won the Barker Award for the girlsโ€™ incredible presentation!! They are so deserving of this award ๐Ÿ’– their efforts from start to finish have been exceptional and I am so so proud of them ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿผ @S4TP_BigIdeas @BannockburnHigh @AlynSmith

Trust is fundamental to negotiation - but the hapless UK Government have continued to undermine their own talks with the EU on the Northern Ireland Protocol through clumsy announcements, bad policy and shoddy strategic thinking.

A great pleasure to meet the United Arab Emirates ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ช Ambassador @MansoorAbulhoul talking human rights, energy, climate change, education co-operation and more.

The first page of the so-called 'British Bill of Rights' is the first such Bill I've seen aimed at stripping rights away from British citizens -- to increase power of an incompetent executive. via @JoshuaRozenberg

๐Ÿ“ˆ New @TheIFS research shows the impact of raising the state pension age from 65 to 66 - a huge leap in poverty.

This week will see severe disruption across Scotland's railways and pressure on other public transport. Be sure to plan ahead for any journey and check online for service updates.

England's politicians may not want to talk about it, but - as predicted - Brexit is hurting the economy. Trade disruption, higher prices, lower investment, slower growth.

@ChrisGiles_ & @GeorgeWParker review the evidence

One day, I believe people in Britain will want to know what actually happened in 2016.

That day is not yet here. But it will eventually come. And when it does, this 117-page forensic examination of the facts will form part of the historic record.

Utterly infuriating. Remember, the networks with only a couple exceptions fought EU roaming tooth and nail.

On the plus side: getting EU roaming back, another advantage of independence in Europe โœ… ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ

โ€˜NATO and the European Union are the twin pillars that buttress the Euro-Atlantic security order and I believe that an independent Scotlandโ€™s interests will be best served as a full and active member of each organisation.โ€™ - @StewartMcDonald.

The rhetoric weโ€™re seeing in some quarters about โ€˜unelected foreign judgesโ€™ is dangerous, reckless and ahistorical. The whole point of the @coe, that the UK helped to create, is to protect human rights.

The service disruption on our railways next week is set to be severe - alternative plans should be in place for those relying on public transport.

@KeithBrownSNP and I have written to @NetworkRailSCOT leadership to seek assurances.

Conversion therapy is an abhorrent practice which has no place in an inclusive, tolerant, democratic society. As legislators, we have a responsibility to formulate laws fit for purpose and protect the citizens we serve - my contribution to this week's Westminster Hall debate.

The influence of think tanks who do not declare their donors - like Policy Exchange - is too often ignored in British politics.

Tomorrow (Thursday 16th 5pm GMT) I will be discussing if these think tanks are bad for British democracy with @AlynSmith

A productive conversation with @ScotRail reps, discussing pandemic recovery and ongoing service disruptions. Iโ€™m acutely aware of constituent concerns, particularly in Dunblane.

Talks with trade unions continue, with everyone striving for a reasoned settlement.

This is exactly the nuts and bolts real world benefits the EU does best, that weโ€™re missing out on. โ€œUK government urged to rethink rejection of common chargerโ€ โฆ@heraldscotlandโฉ

Renegotiating the Protocol would bring legal uncertainty for people & businesses in Northern Ireland.

We call on the UK government to engage with us on joint solutions.

The NI Protocol bill is complex; it will take time to fully understand its meaning for the myriad aspects of life which the protocol impacts. But one thing is immediately clear: It would radically alter the Brexit deal Boris Johnson claimed was "fantastic".

At least now have a text of what theyโ€™re calling the NI Bill. On my first quick reading this raises more questions than it answers. The only way it makes sense to me is that itโ€™s just a stunt to pretend theyโ€™re doing something and itโ€™ll never progress. (And it should indeed not).

UK Gov + Chancellor must act on unsustainable fuel prices urgently to prevent this situation spiralling even further.

@EvelynTweedSNP and I back calls for VAT and fuel duty cuts to help alleviate some of the price pressures we're seeing on forecourts.

Scotland, and the UK, already has a world beating science-led industrial policy. Itโ€™s called Horizon Europe and the Tories are about to crash us all out of it and replace it with trinkets and baubles. Weโ€™ll get it back with independence in Europe ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ

The Passport Office shambles is due to a lack of political leadership and budget from the UK Government - officials are trying their hardest to get documents out to people.

โšก๏ธ Spiralling energy bills are playing a huge role in the cost of living crisis facing my constituents across Stirling.

โš ๏ธ The UK Government needs to step up, drop the melodrama (and Boris) and get on with addressing this catastrophe.
