1/2 If you are writing to me about Rwanda and immigration policy. Provide your full details inc address & postcode - I can only apply to constituents. My team were already working on huge numbers of cases (passports, Ukraine etc) and so we are having to yet again triage

Earlier today I raised with the Government discussions they have had with the Nigerian Government about the situation there, during the Statement on attacks on religious groups in Nigeria

TfL has managed to return Wanstead underground station to normal opening hours. This is good news but the failure to fill a large number of vacancies has clearly been a major factor in what was a very limited opening time and which caused much inconvenience.

I spoke in yesterdays Cost of Living debate,

Earlier during the debate on the Cost of Living I asked the Chancellor about increasing Universal Credit

Yesterday, I asked Michael Gove (Levelling Up Secretary) about Housing Developers closing up and setting themselves up under a different name to avoid consequences such as prosecution.

Keir’s commitment today that he would stand down in the event of receiving a penalty from Durham police demonstrates integrity and accountability. And shows the gulf that exists between us & the government, or more particularly those in Downing St who spent the lockdown partying.

Keir Starmer @Keir_Starmer

The British public deserve politicians who know the rules apply to them.

Who hold themselves to the highest standards.

Who put the country first.

Britain will always get that from me.

Huge thanks to @CatSmithMP and @JohnCryerMP who both signed the EDM yesterday.

These predominantly Black, brown and migrant pandemic heroes deserve NHS contracts and all the support they can get. #GOSHstrike ✊🏾

Yesterday I asked for clarity from a Treasury Minister about what is going on with money for Whipps Cross redevelopment

1/2 This afternoon the Tories admitted defeat and let a motion pass through parliament which allows the PM to be investigated for breaking lockdown rules. This has never happened and probably shows that he has lost the confidence of a lot of his own MPs.

1/2 Just for clarification - if you have been asked by 38 Degrees or similar campaign org to "write to your MP asking them to write to the 1922 Committee calling for Boris Johnson to resign..." 👈only works if your MP is a Tory MP. 1922 Committee is not a Committee of the House

The PM and the Chancellor have both been fined for what amounts to criminal behaviour, both of them lied about it, yet both remain in office. There is nothing remotely like a precedent for this.

On holiday for a few days but great to do a bit of campaigning with @ToniaAntoniazzi in the Mumbles this afternoon. And the☀️ even came out for us. Good luck to all the Gower candidates in the local elections on 5th May!

We are experiencing high call and email volumes this week, whilst having two staff members who are sick with Covid, so my team and I appreciate your patience at this time

Great to be out talking to residents in Wanstead Village today with @JohnCryerMP.
Good support for labour and appreciation of @redbridgelabour investments in:
✅ library and events room refurbishment
✅ street cleansing
✅ cycle storage

The benefit cap, brought in by the Con/Lib Dem coalition, is pushing families with children deeper into poverty. 469 families in Leyton & Wanstead are subject & face an average deduction of £224 PER MONTH. This ruthless policy must end. Thanks @CPAGUK for all your work on this.

Today we're at HM Treasury with the Leader of #WalthamForest Council @GracieMaeW, @RedbridgeLive, cabinet members and MPs @JohnCryerMP + @wesstreeting to hand in the #WhippsWontWait petition to pressure the UK government to fund a brand new @WhippsCrossHosp

@GracieMaeW @RedbridgeLive @JohnCryerMP @wesstreeting @WhippsCrossHosp @NaheedAsgharE11 With the #WhippsWontWait petition, we’re asking the UK government to honour its commitment to fund a brand new hospital at #WhippsCross. The petition has 11,110 signatures. Thank you to everyone who signed it and shared it!

Good to join @GracieMaeW @Jas_Athwal @JohnCryerMP @firewool and @NaheedAsgharE11 at @hmtreasury this morning to hand in a petition to @RishiSunak to give us the Whipps Cross Hospital redevelopment we’ve been promised.

More than 11,000 people have signed!

Hey, @JohnCryerMP you’ve just had an armful of my blood🩸 used in @WhippsCrossHosp. I’m glad it has gone to a good home!

Whoever it’s for and wherever it goes, @GiveBloodNHS🩸💉it matter to us all.

I also asked a Question earlier about a debate on the situation in Nigeria

This morning I asked a Question about Bus Driver Pay - recruitment and retention.

P&O have sacked all their crews and other staff without warning. This is a disgraceful way to treat any workforce.
I am more than happy to support the unions the @RMTunion and @nautilusint their fight to defend their members.

Lots of conversations on the doorsteps about @WFLabourParty and Mays local elections, in Forest and Cathall wards today

A slightly damp canvass today with Leytonstone Cllrs ahead of Mays local elections. Damp but a warm welcome from residents

Earlier I asked a Q of the Leader of the House about a debate on Ukraine and difficulty of people from Africa & India crossing the border

Excellent exhibition - A Portrait of the High Street - by documentary photographer Russell Boyce -Temple, Wanstead Park- till 31/3/2022 @ELondonGuardian @IlfordRecorder @Marmiton_E11 @CoLEppingForest @Jcblackman @dhmt93 @JohnCryerMP @mariafawcett1 @VickyTaylorE11 @mavicristancho

There is no rational justification for Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. His subsequent threat to use nuclear weapons is a sign that his grip on reality is slipping. All three Baltic states are now justifiably very nervous.

Great to be joined by @JohnCryerMP for our Friday canvass. Lots of support for Labour and appreciation for school street zone around Wanstead church school, and new EV charge points 👍 ☀️ 🌹

Do you ever use the N145 night bus, which runs between Dagenham Asda and Leytonstone Station? @TfL are consulting on withdrawing this service. If you use and value this service it is time to let them know!

Been asked about EDM 930 Industrial Action at Bart’s I have signed the motion. Link here 👇

This is appalling. People were shouting all sorts at Keir, including “Jimmy Savile”.
This is what happens when a prime minister descends into the gutter and recycles lies from hard-right conspiracy theorists. Political poison has an effect. Johnson has no moral compass.

Jack Elsom @JackElsom

BREAKING: Keir Starmer has just been bundled into a police car outside Parliament after a mob of protesters swarmed him.

No one should be criminalised for being homeless. That's why I'm supporting the repeal of the archaic, divisive and cruel Vagrancy Act #ScrapTheAct @crisis_uk
