How many more warnings do the government need when it comes to NHS workforce?

GPs are the front door to the NHS for millions.

Ministers need to stop burying their heads in the sand, and start coming up with solutions that deliver for patients.

The Conservatives are soft on rape, soft on rapists and they don’t like to face the fact that they’re letting sex offenders off and letting survivors down. No-one is going to stop me from standing up for victims. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/jun/30/minister-complains-speaker-labour-remarks-convictions?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other

Dominic Raab won’t approve but I did indeed go the opera last week (it cost me £62).

Tom Eisner, a working-class lad from Buxton near where I grew up kindly invited me. He’s been playing violin at Glyndebourne for 36 years.

Never let anyone tell you you’re not good enough. 🎻

The Tories can talk the talk on national security but on their watch, Britain is set to have fewer troops, fewer planes, and fewer ships.

The PM cares more about the security of his own job than the security of the country.

Dame Deborah leaves an incredible legacy as a campaigner and champion for those affected by Bowel Cancer.

She will always be an inspiration to so many, and her work to raise awareness will positively impact the lives of patients for many years to come.

Careers advice opens doors for young people, especially raising the profile of apprenticeships.

Under Labour every child will receive professional careers advice and work experience at school, ensuring they leave education ready for work and for life.

Huge waits for passports and driving licences, long queues at airports and massive waiting lists for healthcare and court dates.

Today I called for the Chancellor to pay at least the real living wage for all those who work for government - including contractors.

He refused.

The Tories are choosing to trap people in poverty pay as the cost of living crisis worsens.

Working people deserve so much better.

Just now Theresa May gave this devastating assessment of the NI Protocol Bill:

'I asked myself three questions:

•Is it legal?
•Will it achieve its aims?
•Does it maintain the standing of the UK in the eyes of the world?

The answer to all three questions is no'

☎️ 470,000 mental health 999 calls each year.
🚑 Thousands going to A&E in a mental health crisis.
⏳ Some children stuck in A&E for days waiting for a mental health bed.

The Government needs to get a grip of the mental health crisis across our country.

Today, on #ArmedForcesDay we thank our Armed Forces for keeping us safe and for their service on the front line.

A Labour government would make sure our veterans get a better deal with fair access to the housing and the services they deserve.

It was a pleasure to visit Forty Hill School today.

I was pleased to see the energy and enthusiasm going into the school’s very own vegetable garden.

The students were a credit to themselves and the school, and I look forward to seeing the garden continuing to flourish!

No matter how much the Minister buries her head in the sand, the issue of access to NHS Dentistry is not going away.

When people are left to pull their own teeth out with pliers, shirking responsibility wont cut it.

My response to today's Westminster Hall Debate 👇

Yesterday I raised serious concerns about access to GPs and NHS dentists in our city. The Minister used her response to score cheap political points with false information. I've asked her to correct the record and focus on the job. Portsmouth deserves better from this Government

Nobody should have to face bullying, but sadly thousands of young people experience it every day.

We can make sure they don't face it alone.

The Windrush generation helped build Britain.

But the Tories' hostile environment left many homeless, jobless and without healthcare. Victims are still waiting for the justice and compensation they deserve.

Windrush descendent @DavidLammy tells their story. #WindrushDay

"We are not just facing a return to Dickensian Britain," says @FeryalClark MP.

"We're already there."

DIY dentistry, an access crisis, an exodus from the workforce.

NHS dentistry is on the critical list.

Without real ambition from government there is little hope of recovery.

Primary Care is in crisis, but the government would rather bury their heads in the sand than fix it.

It's time for them to move out of the way, and let Labour get on with the job.

Grant Shapps can grandstand all he wants.

He has refused to engage in talks that could have avoided these strikes, and continues to play politics.

The public deserves better.

Great to talk to students @EnfieldCounty lower school pupils about my work as their local MP and how I got into politics.

I'm sure we'll be seeing some of them on the green benches in the future!

Primodos scandal: Government accused of 'bullying' disabled campaigners in the courts

Under the Conservatives:

- 350,000 children are on NHS waiting lists
- 12,000 of them waiting more than a year
- Almost 500 for two years!

Rising child poverty has seen the return of Victorian diseases and massive health inequalities.

Exclusive: National rail strike chaos set to deepen - because ministers won't let train firms negotiate pay deal with @RMTunion

Train Operating Companies sources say their hands are tied by lack of full mandate in talks.

🎉 Head on down for some great food and drink and a wonderful party!

Six years ago our colleague and friend, Jo Cox, was murdered.

In Jo’s memory we continue to look ahead with a belief that the world she believed in so passionately remains within our grasp.

“We are far more united and have far more in common than that which divides us.”

Pleased to support @cleanairday UK's campaign to ensure WHO air quality targets are met by 2030.

If we are to protect future generations, we need to act now.

Great to see @FeryalClark showing support for #CleanAirDay at @pgmbmlaw's fantastic #DieselGate event.

Thanks for coming along! #CleanAirDay2022 @globalactplan

This government is breaking all the wrong records.

The longer we give them, the longer patients will wait.
