The Tories are sitting on their hands while families face a catastrophic rise in energy bills and oil and gas producers watch their profits pile up.

This is an emergency situation that requires an urgent response.

I wish to thank @BassetlawCLP members for so positively endorsing me to be their Parliamentary candidate at the next election.

We now must unite to achieve our shared aim - to defeat the local Tory MP and elect a Labour Government.

You don’t need us to tell you that your money doesn’t go as far these days.

But just how much are the Conservatives costing you?

It’s scandalous that Rishi Sunak funnelled public money away from deprived areas and gave it to affluent Tory shires.

The Levelling Up Secretary needs to urgently investigate what changes were made to funding formulas and what justified the changes.

✍️ My letter to @GregClarkMP

Sky-high inflation, rocketing energy bills & Bank of England warnings of recession on the horizon.

Whichever continuity candidate wins, their low-growth, low-wage plans won’t fix the damage caused by 12 years of Tory rule.

Only Labour can provide the fresh start Britain needs.

📺ICYMI: So, it's Luddite to oppose constituents having to wait months for driving licences and passports - new one for me!

The Cabinet Office Secretary is running away from the problems his Government has created with inept handling of the civil service.

🌳This week is #LoveParks Week!

Nottingham has the highest number of Green Flag Award parks outside London. Thank you to all the volunteers and workers who maintain and protect our green spaces in #NottinghamNorth for all to enjoy, now and in the future.

We’ve seen today exactly what Liz Truss thinks of public sector workers.
It’s clear her priority would be to slash their pay packets and send local economies backwards.
12 years of the Tories and this is what we’re left with.

Britain deserves better.

The tories have made people in the north poorer, yet Truss would give them a pay cut. It's levelling down. This is police, NHS, teachers, the list goes on. It's economically illiterate- but why would she care when Tory members are mainly in the South?

So much for levelling up. Nurses, teachers, police officers locally to face a pay cut if she became PM? Where’s the condemnation from local Tory MPs and others?

Why are nurses and teachers in the north worth less than nurses and teachers in the south?

Absolutely disgraceful from Liz Truss.

Yet more evidence that the Tories’ commitment to levelling up is dead

Liz Truss is declaring war on herself with this recipe for levelling down.

A race to the bottom that would cut the pay of school and NHS workers outside London, widening the divide and punishing the North.

This out-of-touch Tory Government’s commitment to levelling up is dead.

👥 Player sponsorships are filling up and we’ve had three commit in the last hour alone!

In June we recognised #PensionCredit Day of Action, to highlight the support available for those most affected.

Under the Conservatives, our economy has ground to a halt.

That is why the number one mission of the next Labour government will be economic growth.

🤝 A huge thank you to those who have sponsored our players and management for the 2022-23 campaign.

🙌 It’s a great way to support the club, all whilst promoting your brand and there is plenty of availability left. £50 home; £90 for both.

In today’s Daily Mirror @Keir_Starmer couldn’t be clearer. People have every right to go out on strike for better wages and conditions. Now they need a Labour Government to hand power to working people again.

Britain is stuck thanks to a succession of Tory governments.

As leader of the Labour Party, I’m focused on getting us into power.

Only then can we deliver the change that trade unions and working people want and need.

#NottinghamPride bigger than ever I’m sure. Hockley is like a giant 🌈 - discrimination has no place in this city - love beats hate every day, every week, every year. Well done ⁦@MyNottingham⁩ for helping make the city an inclusive one.

📺 WATCH: Levelling Up has become nothing but hollow words from the Govt.

Communities like ours aren't asking for extra special treatment, we just want our fair share.

Great speaking to @bbcemt about why Levelling Up needs to become a reality, not just a slogan.

East Midlands bottom of the league for Government funding over the past five years. What about levelling up? Here’s our report which went out at lunch. Longer version on @bbcemt later

This is a big loss. Jon is an important thinker in politics because he also understands how it works in practice. A fine MP and a great campaigner who saw off the BNP. Also, not something that’s easy to say often, a decent person.

@Tomorrow'sMPs @tomorrowsmps

Jon Cruddas has announced he's going to retire at the next election.
