Today advocates Mary and Megan visited @drlukeevans in parliament to record an episode of his podcast, Dr in the House. They discussed our research on negative body image and Luke’s #RecogniseBodyImage campaign. The episode will air in a few weeks and we can't wait to listen! 🙌
Great to meet Mary and Megan today, we discussed the Girls Attitudes Survey and I heard about their experiences of being on Girlguiding's advocate panel.
Mary and Megan are both wonderful examples of how passionate the Girlguiding community are!

Really important roundtable yesterday with the Health Secretary and Health Minister to discuss further ideas for the Women's Health Strategy.
Appreciative for the chance to discuss this important issue with colleagues and add my thoughts from a GP perspective 🥼

Had a lovely afternoon on Saturday with my wife and whippets at the Big Weekend festival in Market Bosworth! It was a pleasure to see so many people from our community there to support.
Well done to the organisers and everyone who gave their time to make the festival so enjoyable
@Ballscrews @drlukeevans @EMC_Events Thanks to you for your input. Was great to have you along and learn more about the business.
@drlukeevans Thanks for your time - great discussion and lots of ground covered. Really appreciate the specific areas of support offered to members.
@drlukeevans It was a great session Luke - very positive and really appreciate you taking the time to listen to local business from all sectors. Thanks to @EMC_Chris and @EMC_Events for arranging #SMEs #ukmfg #ukmanufacturing #aerospace #exports
Today I met with the Chamber of Commerce and local businesses to hear about some of the challenges and successes they’re having.
We covered everything from exporting and local infrastructure, to broadband speed and recruitment.
I’ll write to the Gov to raise their suggestions📝
Last week the Market Bosworth Rotary Club came to Westminster for a tour of the House and a very special visit…
I was able to arrange for a photo outside of Number 10 as I had a policy meeting there after… it’s something we are rarely able to organise but is great when we can!
Great to see our local MP @drlukeevans standing up for us. We have a local MP listening to our concerns and making sure we are heard loud and clear. Also thanks to @AlbertoCostaMP for the opportunity to share our concerns about the rail hub and the impact on our green spaces
One of the many wonderful causes being championed in Parliament, and all in honour of Jo Cox.
The Great Get Together was inspired by Jo and aims to bring people together to celebrate the fact that we have #moreincommon than that which divides us.
@great_together
Last week @AlbertoCostaMP – whose constituency the Hinckley NRFI risks being built in – secured a debate on this issue with the Transport Minister.
Unfortunately, in shorter debates only the one MP is granted time to speak. However I was able to raise some important points...
👋 Thank you @drlukeevans for your support! #MoreInCommon

A big thank you to @Mkt_Bos_FC for inviting me down to the Battle of Bosworth tournament on Saturday. ⚽️
Despite the rain all teams were in great spirits and enjoying themselves! Well done to everyone involved 🏆
And thanks again for the new coffee mug for the office!
We were delighted to welcome Bosworth MP @drlukeevans to our Battle of Bosworth Tournament this morning. With over 24 junior teams taking part, spirits were high and even the ☔ didn't stop the footie fun!
Was a guest recently on the "Doctor in the House" podcast with up-and-coming UK MP @drlukeevans. Enjoyed our wide-ranging, 45-minute conversation tremendously. Listen here: https://open.spotify.com/episode/4UB4GKaRgst4nPwWEmiQ2K?si=Vcxzcer-QJiXmn3Pg4_TOg&nd=1
Yesterday: couldn’t wait to knock on doors this weekend in the sun
Today: a resident offered me an umbrella because she was worried how wet I looked
Good to be out with the Hinckley team nonetheless

Vulnerable patients will miss appointments.
Doctors and nurses won’t be able to get to work.
It’s time @wesstreeting put patients first, stands up for the NHS and condemns the unjustified rail strikes.
After previously discussing the security of our energy supply with @beisgovuk Ministers in Parliament, I am glad to see that progress is being made for the mid- to long-term future 👇

Clean power pipeline🇬🇧
10GW of renewable power is under construction right now - that's around 3x big nuclear plants
We're procuring 12GW right now through an auction, enabling projects with planning approval
Through our Energy Bill, we'll cut red tape to unlock more projects
Yesterday I raised some important points in a Westminster Hall debate on proposals for the Hinckley National Rail Freight Interchange.
Will continue to work on this issue alongside my colleagues down in Parliament.
Plans for new national rail freight interchange at Hinckley debated in Parliament this afternoon. Trains greener than HGV and it would, say developers, create 8k jobs. Went to Burbage Common to find out what local people think. @AlbertoCostaMP @drlukeevans @politicseastmid @bb
Today is Pension Credit Awareness Day and earlier I bumped into @GuyOpperman, Pensions Minister, who explained why it's so important that you check to see if you're eligible for this benefit!

to mark the 40th anniversary of the liberation of the Falkland Islands. The Armed Forces community of Hinckley has also organised an informal ‘pop up’ info centre/museum in the Britannia Centre that everyone is welcome to visit.
Liberation Day: This morning local armed forces veterans Lenny Browett (45 Cdo Royal Marines), Steve Shirley (Royal Navy 845 Naval Air Squadron), Andy Dodds (Royal Navy Association) and Ian Walker (Royal Logistic Corps) raised a flag in Argents Mead in an informal service....
LOST DOG: Oscar, male lurcher, five years old, light brown coat (long haired sandy coloured), friendly with a brown leather collar, lost from the canal near to Nutts Lane on Monday 13 June at 6:30pm. If spotted, please call: 07961649868.
#lostdog PLEASE SHARE.
Today marks 40 years since Liberation Day in the Falklands.
I am grateful for all those who have bravely served our country. Last week I was lucky enough to spend some time with Falklands veterans, hearing about their experiences.
Lest we forget 🇬🇧🇫🇰 #Falklands40
Yesterday I had the pleasure of spending the day @UKTriumph who are based in #Hinckley to enjoy their open day and see what they are all about, here is a quick video about @OfficialTriumph Motorcycles!
Great to spend the day at #Wakefieldbyelection heading up the M1 to help out, and of course, the obligatory signing of the campaign wall! #Conservatives
Fuel prices⛽️
I’ve asked the @CMAgovUK to conduct an urgent review of the retail fuel market, as well as a longer-term investigation under the Enterprise Act.
Fuel prices are always quick to go up but slow to come down - let’s see why.
Delighted to be re-elected Chairman of the Bosworth Conservative Association by a packed room of members at Bosworth Hall.
Plan for the next 12 months? Get on with delivering for local people on issues that actually matter 👊🏼
Thanks for arranging and inviting me to this meeting @drlukeevans. Really pleased to see Arriva listening and open to ideas on how local buses could improve. https://twitter.com/drlukeevans/status/1535184869793349633
🚌Concerns about bus routes have been raised by constituents and local Councillors, so yesterday I met with Arriva.
We discussed issues with the 153, 6 and 6X routes, timetabling and driver availability.
Rest assured we're working on ensuring our area stays connected.

@DrLukeEvans, MP recently came to visit our Desford site to see the progress made since his first visit in 2020. We discussed the Government’s Apprenticeship Levy, which Dr Evans raised in Parliament. https://fb.watch/dvnnDyh5QR/ #ForterraUK #ukmfg #KeepingBritainBuilding

People bashing successful town centres when they are striving and thriving after coming out of lockdown is something I will never understand. Champion your local high streets!
As a new Parliamentary term recently started, I wanted to share with you all what's been keeping my office busy since I was elected to represent our local area 👇

.@drlukeevans paid a visit to Johnsons in #Hinckley town centre to congratulate them on trading for a total of 75 years

Huge amount of fake news / misinformation flying about and even being repeated by national media.

Seems to be confusion about this tonight. Govt has not rewritten the rule on having to resign if a minister lies to Parliament. That is a convention which is older than the code itself. And indeed expectation that a minister resigns if they knowingly mislead is in the new code.
