Staying active is so important. That's why I'm pleased to announce that the £320m PE and sport premium will continue for another year, so that more schools like @floragardensw6 can offer their pupils enriching sporting opportunities ⚽🎾🏀🏈

Great visit to DHL Express at East Midlands Airport yesterday. Thanks to all who showed me around. They have 370 planes UK wide and 4000 employees in Express. Everyone I talked to said it was a great place to work. The Bentley in the pictures was going to Cincinnati!

As Armed Forces Week continues, I wanted to highlight some of the support that is available to veterans locally.

The Veterans Wellbeing Hub takes place every Friday at the Loughborough Wellbeing Centre. I was delighted to open the Hub recently.

I have been calling for an end for Friday releases for a while now. Around a third of offenders leave prison on a Friday, giving them an extremely limited time to sort out accommodation and arrange job support before services shut down for the weekend.

Today is Reserves Day 🇬🇧

I would like to offer my thanks to all Reservists, including those in #Loughborough, who give their time to serve our nation, and to their employers who support them.

Today I was elected as chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Small and Micro Business. The aim of the APPG is to raise awareness of small and micro business issues in parliament and is supported by @fsb_policy

Thanks to the Business Secretary ⁦@KwasiKwarteng⁩ for joining #Loughborough businesses this morning at the business breakfast that I hosted at the Careers and Enterprise Hub. Some really great questions and engagement from attendees.

LLEPcareershub: RT @llep_gerarde: Spending time with @JaneMHunt this morning talking about @LLEPcareershub plans for 2022/23. Great to have such a positive MP with a real passion on helping our young people take their best next steps.

It was a pleasure to welcome students and teachers from St Winefrides Catholic Voluntary Academy in Shepshed to Parliament today. I really enjoyed all the questions!

No need to register & free to attend.

We're delighted to be making Loughborough's towpaths better for use all year round and providing extra moorings for visiting boats.

We'd like to say a massive 'thank you' to @LboroTownDeal who have made the project possible through £885,000 of funding.

You can catch up with our #PlatinumJubilee Thanksgiving Service here. We were really pleased to be joined by the Mayor of @CharnwoodBC and MP @JaneMHunt who enjoyed the choir's rousing performance of Zadok the Priest. A great end to the Jubilee Weekend.

Good luck to @lborocollege learner Will Bloom who is representing @BritTri 🇬🇧 today at the Europe Triathlon Junior Cup on his international debut! #TalentFactory

The Jubilee weekend is nearly upon us! 🇬🇧

There are lots of events taking place around the constituency, many of which can be found on @CharnwoodBC's website here ⬇️

The Beacon in Queen's Park in #Loughborough has been repainted ahead of it being lit on Thursday for Her Majesty the Queen's #PlatinumJubilee.

Ahead of the Platinum Jubilee, I spoke in the House of Commons earlier as part of the Humble Address.

Today the Chancellor unveiled a Plan for a Stronger Economy, outlining a £37 billion package of support to help families with the cost of living as we grow our economy.

Alongside the action we’ve already taken this year today's measures will ensure:

The vast majority of households receive £550.

Pensioners receive £850.

And almost all of the eight million most vulnerable households will receive support of at least £1,200.

Watch 👇

We will send a one-off £650 cost of living payment directly to around eight million of the lowest income households.

Worth over £5 billion, there will be no need for people to fill out forms – we will send the payment straight into bank accounts.

It was great to attend the Dynamo Summer Cup tournament at the weekend at @lborodynamofc where I handed out medals to those who took part.
We were also joined by Bow Bear from @RainbowsHospice! Well done to everyone involved in the tournament which was such a success.

I am delighted that England has successfully won the rights to host the Women’s Rugby World Cup in 2025.

This great news will help to turbo-charge the women and girls’ game #RWC2025
