Meeting local businesses is a key part of being your MP. If you run one, have had any issues or success, get in touch!

🏳️‍🌈 Looking forward to contributing to the important Parliamentary debate celebrating #50YearsofPride and those who've fought so hard for recognition and equality.

Lots to reflect on over these past five decades - lots of progress, but still much more for us to do. Together.

🛍️ Celebrating our local retailers 🛍️

This weekend we're marking #UKIndieDay Weekend - a chance to show support for #Carshalton and #Wallington's amazing local retailers.

Whether it's a big shop, a few bits and bobs, or that one special thing you need, remember to think local!

🏳️‍🌈 Feelin' proud 🏳️‍🌈

Great to join @CommonsSpeaker and colleagues from across Westminster ahead of the Pride flag raising in the grounds of Parliament.

It was a great opportunity to come together to recognise progress made and work still to be done.

Together we can get there 🏳️‍🌈

Last week I led a debate on Sutton Council's SEND failings, underlining my commitment to ensuring ALL children in our area get a good education.

I'm glad the consultation on the Government's green paper for SEND provision is live - contribute here 👇

💈 Last week I popped by Chris and Jack's for one last haircut before their retirement.

👏 It was a great opportunity to thank them for being community stalwarts over the years, as well as wishing them all the best for their retirement!

One for you, @politicaltrims 😉

A job in the Metropolitan Police can be incredibly rewarding and varied, and they need people who can use their experiences and strengths to keep Londoners safe.

Sound like you?

🗣️ Normally in Parliament it's my job to grill the Prime Minister and Ministers, but last week it was my turn in the hot seat as I welcomed Green Wrythe Primary (@gwprimary) to Parliament for a tour and Q&A.

👏 A big thank you to the students and staff for some great questions!

ICYMI: I was lucky enough to be successful in holding a Westminster Hall debate last week on just some of the failings of Sutton Council's special educational needs provision.

❤️ What an excellent day at the @SHMACF today! I was joined by Councillors Steve Alvarez, Wendy Clark, Mile Dwyer and Jonathan Pearce throughout the day on my advice surgery stall.

👏 Thank you to everyone who stopped by to raise an issue and thanks again to the organisers!

👏 Today is #ArmedForcesDay - a chance for all of us across our area to come together to give thanks to those in our Armed Forces.

We pay tribute to all in the Armed Forces community, whether regulars, reserves, veterans, cadets, and their families.

Thank you for your service.

Nice to catch up with my local MP @ElliotColburn this morning and talk about:
✔️ pressures in pharmacy
✔️ cost of living crisis
✔️ funding
✔️ expanded role of Pcy
✔️ pharmacy first service
✔️integrated neighbourhood teams
✔️women’s health strategy
Amongst many other issues

Sadiq Khan says public transport is the way to beat his ULEZ expansion money grab.

But what we've learnt this week is that we can't rely on public transport. And when it comes to ULEZ expansion, we can't rely on him either.

Tell him - sign my petition.

Earlier this week, in my role as Chair of the APPG for #Tamils, and on behalf of Tamils across our area and beyond, I raised the issue of human rights and any future bailout for the Sri Lankan government.

This is an issue that I will continue to monitor and raise with Ministers.

Congratulations to the Royal College of Pathologists, celebrating 60 years since their founding this week! 🎉

Check out @RCPath, marking the milestone by highlighting the hard work of their members across specialities, as well as the importance of pathology in our health system.

🚨2,000 AND RISING🚨

That's 2,000 people demanding the Mayor of London halt his ULEZ expansion plans!

In the 13 days the petition's been open, a driver of a non-ULEZ compliant vehicle would've racked up £162.50 in charges.

🗣️Yesterday I led a Westminster Hall debate on Sutton Council's SEND provision failings.

Through this, I was able to raise the fight that too many children in our area face in accessing special educational support directly with the Minister.

Watch here👇

No one should ever have to face bullying, least of all children.

Whether face to face or online, it's unacceptable.

That's why I'm supporting @DianaAward's Don't Face It Alone campaign - providing tools and support to put an end to it.

❌Tube strikes
❌Rail strikes

That's Sadiq Khan's London.

And he wants to make it worse with his ULEZ expansion plans, slapping a £12.50 daily charge on the less well off.

We can't rely on public transport. We can't rely on him.

❗ Happening now ❗

You can catch my Westminster Hall debate on Sutton Council's failings in SEND provisions below, as I question the Education Minister on ensuring ALL children in #Carshalton and #Wallington have a decent education 👇

Families are facing global cost of living pressures. Labour's response? Backing today's rail strikes.

Their union friends admit it will cost families, yet Labour won't condemn it 👇

⚠️ Train strikes in our area ⚠️

Govia Thameslink Railway, which operate the Southern and Thameslink lines have issued this advice ahead of the upcoming strikes 👇

But the bottom line remains this: only travel if you need to, and even then, check before you leave.

Families and businesses in #Carshalton and #Wallington are already struggling with global cost of living pressures, and now millions have been plunged into chaos with the largest rail strike in a generation.

Yet despite this, whose side are Labour on?

The rail unions need to talk, not strike. But we will continue to prepare. I'm asking the @MayorofLondon to do his bit to keep London open and moving by waiving the Congestion Charge & ULEZ and pausing non-essential roadworks on rail strike days - simple moves that will go far.

Today is the start of #ArmedForcesWeek ahead of @ArmedForcesDay on Saturday, so it was great to join with the local community and representatives from our Armed Forces to mark the occasion at today's special flag raising.

This is incredibly worrying and our thoughts go to those who were hurt. As Chair of the APPG for Tamils we continue to call for an end to the increased militarisation of the island and swift action by the international community to bring peace and justice for Tamils.

This is real help, as part of a real package of support to help those with the cost of living.

🚂Next week's train strikes in our local area🚂

Train companies will be running a ⚠️severely⚠️ limited service next week.

This will include just 2 trains an hour between Victoria and Sutton, and between Victoria and Epsom Downs via Selhurst.

Today marks 40 years since the end of the Falklands War.

We remember all of our Armed Forces involved in the war, especially those killed or wounded.

Their sacrifice has meant the Falkland Islanders can live freely; the Islands transformed into a peaceful and vibrant community.

⏲️Visa and passport waiting times⏲️

My team and I have been helping a number of people in our area who are facing long wait times for passports and visas.

So it was good to ask the Minister what work is underway to improve the Home Office's systems to speed applications up👇

❓Expanding ULEZ, what's next?❓

I fear that after expanding the ULEZ to our local area, it won't be long until the Mayor begins targeting more drivers - not just those with older vehicles, but all vehicles in time.

Don't risk it, sign the petition👇

💷ULEZ Charge💷

Don't forget the daily £12.50 ULEZ charge to go to:
🏢 work
🏫 school
🛍️ the shops
🏥 medical appointments

Over a year the daily charge will cost you ⚠️£4,500+⚠️- when driving's already expensive!

Stop the money grab, sign the petition👇

An Ultra Low Emissions Zone expansion to #Carshalton and #Wallington will whack extra charges on older cars, hitting poorer residents- this isn't the way to clean our air.

This week is #CarersWeek - a chance to highlight the amazing work that our carers do, often without pay or fanfare.

So, I wanted to thank all of the carers in #Carshalton and #Wallington - and I will continue to work to ensure that they get the recognition and support they need.
