Based on this man’s record of negotiations, the rebels must already know he’s going to cave in completely.

Looks like he’s bidding against himself again and capitulating from a what should be a position of strength.

Elon did something nobody else has done: He talked about cutting government waste, fraud, and abuse… Then, he actually acted on it.

While some may disagree with how he talked about it, @ElonMusk made a commitment to take on wasteful spending. (which the vast majority of…

Surprisingly and unknowingly I have fulfilled a life’s ambition!
A good friend sent me this extract from this year’s Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack.
What a privilege!

Good News is coming…

And there hasn’t been a trade deal agreed in modern times that hasn’t benefited both the countries that signed it.

As we celebrate Victory in Europe Day & remember those that made victory possible, my Aunt found this old photo of a VE Day party of her, my Dad (he was a toddler then) my Nan & Great Aunt celebrating at a street party on Linden Crescent in Kingston-Upon-Thames.
Quite something!

The Financial Times nails the point and demonstrates exactly how important the choice made by the forthcoming Conclave will be in geopolitical terms.

Tariffs are bad for all - those who charge & those who pay suffer.

A good produced in Northern Ireland is a good produced in the UK.

If the EU retaliates w tariffs effecting goods made in NI for US, they can be reclaimed via the Duty Reimbursement Scheme (in Windsor Framework)

Check out the video in this story about Belfast and Northern Ireland.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone (but will!)

Also congrats to @BBCMarkEaston on telling a positive story so well.

Personally I’m glad this scrutinising of public spending is catching on. It was quite unfashionable and unpopular when I tried it back in the day…
@elonmusk

Having been a Govt Chief Whip I can imagine what the current incumbent of that role is doing. His team of Whips will be calling round their “flocks” & hear “loud rumblings” about the Chancellor of the Exchequer.

There have been a number of important anniversaries lately. This date last year devolved government returned to Northern Ireland and I was proud to have played a small part in it all.

Labour going on Veterans today.

Look the Northern Ireland Veterans in the eye and tell them you will restart their prosecutions. Because that is what you are promising to do.

Keir Starmer’s words are nothing but lip service to veterans.

In 2023 Starmer called to repeal the NI Legacy Bill.

Labour voted against the Bill.

Repealing the Legacy Act would see veterans hauled before the courts and delay families getting answers and justice.

After 24 years in politics I won’t be standing at the next election.

It’s been an honour and a privilege to serve and I’d like to thank the good people of Daventry, @theresa_may @BorisJohnson @trussliz @RishiSunak for putting their trust in me.

🍴 The @balmoralshow showcases the fantastic agri-food sector and Northern Ireland’s world-class produce.

🤝 It was a great privilege to speak to local producers and to reiterate the UK Government’s commitment to unleashing NI's full potential & supporting investment.

Today, my thoughts are with the victims and families affected by the Dublin and Monaghan bombings 50 years ago. The people of Ireland, as well as NI & GB, suffered terribly during the Troubles. These atrocities remain a particularly awful example of that.

👏 Thrilled to have visited Uform and to hear more about their growth plans.
🤝 The UK Government is committed to working with businesses of all sizes so they can realise the benefits of international trade by improving their export capabilities.

A great event celebrating Europe Day with friends and colleagues. Thank you @PedroSerranoEU for his continued support of our work to deliver economic growth and prosperity for Northern Ireland.

🧑‍⚕️🚁 A great flying visit to @AirAmbulanceNI. The charity has a fantastic team that provides a crucial service to all in Northern Ireland.

💡 We had an insightful discussion on the challenges and opportunities and how vital work can be done when people work together.

✅ Northern Ireland has a fantastic business environment and I am thrilled to see businesses get the recognition they deserve.

🤝 I would like to congratulate all the winners receiving the King’s Awards for their outstanding achievements in growing our economy.

🚚 ⛴️The UK Government is working with the NI Executive to ensure UK businesses can realise the benefits of international trade by improving export capabilities & skills.

Great to see first hand the work of @telestack in Omagh, Kane Group in Banbridge & @AroundNoonFood Newry.

I welcome the Executive's agreement on a Budget for Northern Ireland.

The Government’s fiscal package of over £3.3 billion will support the Executive to deliver stability for the medium term, and to create the conditions for long-term sustainability. 1/2

Opening up archives to independent historians will allow for a better understanding of the UK Government’s policies during the Troubles than has been possible before.

I am grateful to members of the expert advisory panel for their work.

I am pleased the Post Office Horizon Bill will be amended to include Northern Ireland.

I've been speaking to @kevinhollinrake, @moneillsf, @little_pengelly and @naomi_long about this regularly.

The legislation will deliver for those affected in NI as quickly as possible.

Thank you @MichealMartinTD.

A productive discussion on matters of mutual interest, underlining our shared commitment to the Belfast (Good Friday) Agreement.

👏 A fantastic experience hearing from students on the issues that matter most to them at today’s @politicsinacti1 event at @QUBelfast.

🏫 It was great to see so many young people from across #NorthernIreland engaging and showing a keen interest in politics.

Great meeting with @moneillsf and @little_pengelly this morning.

With the Executive back up and running, we now have the opportunity, the means, and the responsibility to deliver a better future for all the people of Northern Ireland.

Congratulations to @SimonHarrisTD on his appointment as Taoiseach today. I wish him all the best as he settles into the role and look forward to working together as we further strengthen UK-Ireland cooperation.
