It’s been a hot weekend in Nottingham but a busy one! On Saturday I caught up with local councillors, Faith, Sam and Helen for the start of Bilborough Arts Festival at the local library. If you missed Saturday there are more activities all week: https://www.bilborougharts.co.uk/

Last night Nottingham came together to celebrate @TrentUni’s Vice-Chancellor, Edward Peck, who has reached the end of term & leaves for a new role at the @officestudents. Edward has made a huge difference to our city and improved the life chances of thousands of young people.

Yesterday was the official opening of @NottsCommHA new offices and homes on the old college site in #Clifton. I remember standing on the roof when it was under construction trying to imagine it - the final result is stunning! A real pleasure to meet new residents and old friends!

Another glorious garden! This time to catch up with Rachel and Julie from @nottshospice who provide end of life care and invaluable support to hundreds of my constituents and their families every year. Glad to have a chance to thank them and discuss how I can support their work.

I don’t often visit a school on a staff training day, but it was great to meet Headteacher Lou Maltby and colleagues at Greenfields Primary in The Meadows to discuss the challenges and joys of this school year and hear about their exciting plans for the future.

#PlanForChange

Always grateful to have the opportunity at Transport Questions to champion this @uklabour government’s record investment in fixing our roads.

The Tories left them in a dire state and we are delivering on our #PlanForChange to make our roads safer for all users. 🚴🏼‍♀️👩‍🦽🚗🚶

I enjoyed my recent trip to Devon to see first hand the work that is going into fixing their roads.

They are benefitting from their share of this year’s national uplift of £500 million. I’m so pleased to see councils getting to work and taking full advantage of this investment.

Remember when the Tories boasted that they were taking money from the poorest areas to give to the richest?

Here’s the Labour difference a Labour Government makes: more money for areas with greatest poverty to tackle health inequalities.

This government is investing in the renewal of Britain.

Creating better paid jobs in every part of the country.

Our ten year infrastructure strategy is published today, setting out how we’re delivering on the promise of change.

Great news for my constituents in Nottingham South. Our Government is supporting people with the cost of living and cutting fuel poverty by putting more money in the pockets of thousands more families.

@LilianGreenwood @RailwyMission @BTP @EastMidRailway A huge thank you to @LillianGreenwood Will Rogers of @EastMidRailway and Chief Inspector Gill for taking time from their busy schedules to share about the issues the railway community face. Thanks to the officers and rail staff at Nottingham for their hospitality.

Congratulations and well done to everyone in Nottingham South getting their GCSE results today. And a big thank you to the teachers, school staff, parents and everyone who supported them to get here through some very difficult years.

At Nottingham Railway station to hear more about the work of @RailwyMission. Lovely to meet Colin, the RM chaplain who supports all rail staff in our area and to hear from @BTP officers and @EastMidRailway staff about their vital work and how Colin’s support makes a difference.

Great to visit local charity @LifeskillsCt yesterday. Many Notts parents will know about their Drug Alcohol and Resilience Training (DART) and other programmes which empower young people with the confidence, resilience and social skills they need to make good decisions in life.

Lots of interesting conversations with residents in #Bilborough this evening. Good to hear about their hopes for the change our new Labour government will bring. 🌹

This Labour government is delivering on our promise to strengthen border security and crack down on the criminal smuggling gangs making millions out of small boat crossings.

Yesterday evening I was out with Clifton West Labour’s @CllrHayleySpain Council Leader @CllrNeghat and a team of @ng_labour volunteers meeting residents on #Clifton Grove & listening to their concerns. So much praise for Hayley’s diligence on their behalf. #NotJustAtElectionTime

Yesterday I visited Nottingham’s Television Workshop. Blown away by the work this charity do (& have been doing for the past 40 yrs) to nurture young talent from working class communities. Their alumni are star-studded but all the young people I met were a tribute to their work.

Yesterday I visited Nottingham’s @JusticeMuseum. If you’ve never been - or like me, not for a while - you definitely should. Powerful and thought-provoking to explore real objects and the stories of real people in the place it happened. Here’s me and my guide Katie in the dock!

The REA has joined forces with the Energy Saving Trust to announce the publication of a new resource entitled ‘Electrifying the fleet: a practical resource for fleet managers’.

Yesterday I went to meet the staff at @CoopFuneralcare in #Clifton. Thank you to Toni, Jill and Debbie for the work you do to support my constituents at a difficult time with such care and kindness, and for the wider work you do to support local community groups.

This morning I was out in #Bilborough with local councillor, @HelenKalsi thanking residents for their support in the recent general election and listening to their views. We picked up issues for action and heard about a wide range of issues, both local and national.

The expansion of opt-out HIV testing to 47 more A&Es in England is crucial for finding everyone with undiagnosed HIV.

Amazing to see hospitals like @nottmhospitals changing lives by finding people living with HIV as part of the new wave of this programme.

Well done to everyone in Nottingham South getting their exam results today. Whilst I hope your hard work paid off and you’ve got the grades you wanted, if they aren’t what you hoped, don’t panic, there’s support available to help you decide what to do next.

🚨BREAKING!🚨

Today the Department for Transport and @ASLEFunion agreed a deal to recommend to members and end the strikes.

I promised we’d move fast and fix things and that is what we’ve done.

On 4 July, we can turn the page on 14 years of decline, restore hope in our communities and change the direction of our country for good.

Vote Labour 🌹

Promoted by Thomas Rannachan on behalf of Maureen Burke, both at 10 Myreside Crescent, Glasgow, G32 6EB.

Great to see people from across the political spectrum backing Labour.

The only party offering hope and unity.

The only party which can end Tory chaos and transform Britain for the better.

If you want a change of government, you have to vote for it.

#VoteLabour

A lovely evening to be out with #Broxtowe Labour members talking to voters in #Beeston #Rylands and Beeston Marina. Lots of Labour posters requested and lots of people telling us it’s time for change.

Multiple teams out across Broxtowe today whilst @julietocampbell was calling undecided voters to talk about Labour’s 5 missions and the things she’ll do to stand up for the constituency if elected on 4th July.

The support to the Arts & Culture sector has been drastically reduced by the Tory governments since 2010. A new @UKLabour govt will have many priorities but let’s ensure this vital sector is one of them. 📖🎭
