Have you tried to get tickets for your favourite artist only to find massively inflated prices as they’re resold by ticket touts?

Today, we set out plans to fix that and we want your views.

Predators who create sexually explicit ‘deepfakes’ – images or videos digitally altered to appear real – without consent could face criminal prosecution under new offences.

How would you react if someone created a fake sexual video of you?

‘Deepfakes’ are images or videos created by AI to look real.

We will introduce new provisions to tackle creating sexually explicit deepfakes without consent.

Major incidents have been declared in Lincolnshire and Leicestershire due to severe flooding.

My thoughts are with all those affected and my thanks to responders working hard to keep communities safe.

Anyone in these areas should follow advice from the emergency services.

We will end NHS waiting list backlogs.

We’re backing working people.

From April 2025, the National Living Wage will rise to £12.21, a £1,400 boost a year for full-time eligible workers.

A Budget that fixes the foundations to deliver change by fixing the NHS and rebuilding Britain, while ensuring working people don’t face higher taxes in their payslips.

NEWS: Funding to kickstart delivery of two million extra NHS appointments.

The Chancellor has confirmed new funding to help deliver an extra 40,000 elective appointments per week.

Reducing waiting lists and building an NHS fit for the future.

Every child should have access to a high-quality education.

From 1 Jan 2025, VAT will apply to all education, training and boarding services provided by private schools.

This money will help us to invest more in state education, improving standards and opportunities for all.

We want to discourage non-smokers & young people from taking up vaping.

From 1 Oct 2026, we’re introducing a vaping duty for the first time at £2.20 per 10ml of liquid.

Plus a one-off tobacco duty rise to keep the incentive to choose refillable vaping over smoking.

Working people are the lifeblood of our economy.

That is why the government will not increase the basic, higher or additional rates of Income Tax, National Insurance, or VAT.

This is a budget to protect working people.

We want to give retired workers the long-term financial security they need.

That’s why in 2025-26 we’re increasing the State Pension by up to £470 in line with the Triple Lock.

Prime Minister @Keir_Starmer welcomed Prime Minister of Lebanon @Najib_Mikati to Downing Street this evening.

Both leaders agreed on the urgent need of an immediate ceasefire in Lebanon and highlighted the importance of protecting civilian life.
