If Boris Johnson refuses to accept the democratic will of the people of Scotland, it will only prove one thing:

The United Kingdom is no longer a voluntary union of nations. #Indyref2023

“You and I will never agree on the merits of independence for Scotland. But I would expect any democrat to agree that it is unacceptable for the people of Scotland to be blocked from making that choice…”

Spot on. Scotland's future is Scotland's choice, not Boris Johnson's.

Nicola Sturgeon’s letter to Boris Johnson on #indyref2

😅 Did Anas Sarwar just say that the SNP are “battling for relevance”? Where has he been for the past 10 years and what does he think has happened to Scottish Labour?

Proud to support Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month.

I recently attended an excellent event which showcased the work being done locally to improve the lives of Gypsy/Travellers and tackle discrimination.

Thank you to Donna and Jeannie for showing me around Sandys Community Centre today.

The centre really does has something for everyone, no matter your age. It’s a great example of what can be achieved in our communities. Learn more here:

Next week is Craigmillar Week of Action (27 June - 1 July) ♻️

Want to get involved and help transform the environment on our doorstep? See the details below.

Six years ago today, Scotland voted overwhelmingly to remain in the EU but was dragged out against our will.

It was democratically indefensible then, just as the tories’ refusal to accept our mandate for #indyref2 is now. Scotland will be back soon. 🇪🇺🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

The Tories are adamant public attitudes to the Union have not changed.

And yet, they are desperate to hide the results of their own polling…

Everyone has the right to be who they are, free from discrimination or persecution.

That was my message to the Council of Europe (@coe) today during a debate on preventing and combating antisemitism.

This is very welcome news. The new state-of-the-art community sports facility open on 19 July. 👏

Lochend Football Academy is an asset to our community with a coaching team who have a real passion for making a difference in young people's lives.

Great to catch up with David to learn more about their work and discuss how we can drive more footballing initiatives locally.⚽️👇

Fantastic response to the crowdfunder so far - thank you to those who've donated.

The UK Govt have an army of civil servants, top lawyers and unlimited access to taxpayers' money. All I have is you.

Please chip in if you can 👇

⚖️ Another litigation crowdfunder launches. Edinburgh MP @TommySheppard seeks support for his ongoing battle with the Cabinet Office over freedom of information law and disclosure of their publicly-funded polling data on independence.

The Tories are buying secrecy with a big shot QC - the man who represented them against the Windrush families, defended their dodgy covid contracts and argued that they could suspend parliament with impunity.

Don’t let them render FOI toothless.

I need your help to defend freedom of information and win the release of the UK Government's secret union polls.

Not sure which is the more impressive: the turnout for @PortyPride litter pick this morning, or the fact that we found so little rubbish to pick up on the prom and our fab beach. @portobellocc @PortyPeople

Deportations, resignations and Boris. It’s reassuring to know that Scotland doesn’t have to put up with this much longer. #WhyNotScotland

If our neighbours can use the powers of independence successfully to become wealthier, more equal countries – why not Scotland?

Read my latest column here 👉

“It’s impossible to get to know your neighbours if they change every week.”

Pleased to have had the opportunity today to highlight the negative impact of short term lets, how new @scotgov legislation will improve the situation and why the UK Govt ought to follow Scotland’s lead.

Today is #CleanAirDay! ☁️ ☀️

As someone with asthma, I know how air pollution can have a detrimental impact on our health.

In Scotland, we’ve already made good progress to promote clean air but there is more we all must do. Find out more here:

There are billions of people around the world who still don't have access to COVID vaccines and treatments because of ridiculous trade rules.

We must end COVID monopolies with a full #TRIPSwaiver.

@GlobalJusticeUK @peoplesvaccine

Watching one Tory MP after another urging the Home Secretary to quit the European Court of Human Rights over the Rwanda ruling. Just when you thought Britain’s international reputation could not sink any lower. #YouYesYet?

British Council @pcs_union workers are trying to save the organisation from FCDO enforced cuts. Time for @trussliz to step in. #HandsOffBritishCouncil

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Today, @NicolaSturgeon has set out the new case for Scotland's independence.

🤝 Together, let's build the wealthier, fairer, better Scotland with the full powers of independence.

Hundreds of households in my constituency have been affected by a broadband outage since Tuesday.

With more people WFH and students studying for crucial exams, this is unacceptable. My office is actively raising this with @virginmedia, pressing for a resumption of service ASAP.

Whether legal or not, the Rwanda policy is a shameful stain on the UK that will not wash out.

Proud to have signed this cross-party letter urging the Prime Minster to cancel tomorrow’s deportation flight.

Turkey must stop its invasion of Kurdish areas in northern Iraq. Protesting in Edinburgh today with Scottish Solidarity with Kurdistan to highlight the atrocities being perpetrated on the people who fought against Isis. #DefendKurdistan

Tomorrow has been declared a global day of action to defend Kurdistan. I’ll be speaking at a demonstration against Turkish military action in Northern Iraq and Syria.

Join me and Edinburgh’s Kurdish community from 11am outside the Scottish Parliament.

Home Office has spent over £50,000 on PR for its Rwanda deportation plan.

No matter how much they try to dress it up, it’s an utterly shameful policy which treats the most vulnerable in a cruel and inhumane way.

Scotland can't afford this Union, and it can’t afford this incompetent Tory Government. We can choose better with independence.
