We are delighted to announce that we have been given a grant by @MerseysideRWA to help continue to reduce, reuse and recycle. Our first event is next Sunday when we will have a vintage clothes sale.
Thank you to @MayorLpool who alerted us to the funding opportunity in February!

Government lectures the @RMTunion on accepting modernisation and digital technology.

The same Government refuses to modernise and use digital technology, instead forcing MPs to travel the length of the country to vote in a 900 year old palace.

One rule for them.

Fantastic support for @RMTunion at Liverpool Lime Street & in my own constituency. Great to be out with members of @WavertreeCLP & friends @KimJohnsonMP @IanByrneMP @DanCardenMP

Beautiful service @LiverpoolParish this morning led by Dr Crispin Pailing, Rector of Liverpool to commemorate #ArmedForcesDay2022 With my good friend @KimJohnsonMP

Today on #ArmedForcesDay, we celebrate the special service our UK Forces personnel, veterans, and their families give to our country.

From helping Britain through Covid to keeping us safe and protecting our NATO allies, Labour is deeply proud of you. Thank you.

This week my team & I had the pleasure of having students Amelia & Megan from @abblanchschool on work experience in the office. Both young women have been a credit to themselves, the school & their families. Thank you so much for your hard work. Look forward to seeing you soon.

A huge thanks to all our new volunteers at the Foodbank my team & I run on Friday afternoons in Wavertree with our partners @TrussellTrust All the volunteers are members of @WavertreeCLP & are looking forward to getting more involved.

It was great to catch up with Tom Harrison, CEO of @LocalSolutions_ & discuss the ambitious plans they have. I look forward to our continued partnership working.

@PaulaBarkerMP It’s mind boggling g that the state should stay out of gun ownership but can interfere and prevent women protecting and making choices for their bodies. #guncontrol v #AbortionRightsAreHumanRights #RoeVsWade

This is devastating news for American women who should have a right to choose what happens to their bodies. It fundamentally sets back womens rights & I sincerely hope that this won’t be the final word on this issue. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-61928898

The overturning of Roe v Wade is a major and deeply upsetting setback for women. It sends a message that a woman’s reproductive rights – which are fundamental to their physical, psychological and social wellbeing – are not worth protecting.

On Wednesday, the Daily Mail printed a photo of me on this nasty anti-worker front page.

They’ve now agreed to pay just short of £1,000 for using the photo.

I’ll be sending that money from the Mail straight to the @RMTunion strike-fund.

Victory to the rail workers ✊🏽

BREAKING: Outsourced workers at @LSHTM have voted UNANIMOUSLY to strike over pay, following union victimisation.

40 days before in-housing, LSHTM still refuses to negotiate with IWGB, despite representing the majority of workers.

Thank you for attending our ‘Come Read With Me’ session yesterday afternoon! It was so nice to see the children reading their favourite books with their grown ups☺️

I'm a very experienced A&E nurse and my wage is so low that as a widowed single parent I also receive universal credit.
So don't you dare use the fact that as a life saver, I've been undervalued by government as an excuse to bash the #RMTstrikes !
They are paving the way for me.

#LFC has launched a new mental health toolkit, which offers further support to fans suffering the ongoing effects of the events surrounding the Champions League final ⤵️

Did you know this horrid Conservative government are closing Toxteth Jobcentre? The impact will be extremely detrimental to a significant part of our community & @WavertreeCLP.

The Jobcentre must remain in this community #savetoxtethjobcentre

I wonder if this also correlates to the phrase “Mick Lynch” who has demonstrated the utmost integrity & leadership this week @RMTunion There’s strength in a union & I’m delighted to see so many people have been awakened to this #JoinAUnion

Trades Union Congress @The_TUC

NEW🚨: Google searches for 'join union' have increased by 184% in the last week.

Proud to again join striking rail workers on the picket this morning in Liverpool.

They’re leading the fight back against the attack on jobs, wages and conditions at a time when profits are soaring and working people are being squeezed.

Solidarity with the @RMTunion ✊🏽

We @Kuumba_Imani @L8abetterplace are super excited that we are only 2 days away from our #CelebrateL8 event over 35 community orgs, 6 cultural caterers and many super performances under one roof @FireFitHub 25th June 2022

It was great to spend part of my afternoon at @AsylumLink to help mark #RefugeeWeek2022 at their BBQ.

Great company, music and food at this wonderful place. They also had NHS staff and volunteers at hand to administer #Covidvaccination to anyone who wanted one.

Solidarity with striking rail workers on their second day of industrial action.

Fighting for job security and a pay rise that deals with the cost of living crisis. ✊

This week I'm proud to support #CervicalScreeningAwarenessWeek!

Cervical screening (smear tests) can save lives, but 1 in 3 do not attend when invited.

If you have any questions or concerns, @JoTrust have information, tips, and support for you!”

I have written to @NadineDorries tonight with my colleagues asking for an urgent meeting on the events around Paris and for the British government to back our demands for a full apology and independent investigation by the French authorities and @UEFA

☀️On the Labour campaign trail in Wakefield for Simon Lightwood with @NavPMishra & @JudithCummins today.

Vote Labour on Thursday 23 June to give Wakefield a fresh start🌹

If the last few days of Mick Lynch media smack downs have made you think "I want to buy him a pint" - go one better.

Throw in the cost of a pint to the @RMTunion dispute fund, used to financially support the strikers. It's what Mick wants.

MoD figures revealed by Labour and published in the Times this week, show that ministers have allowed the backlog of applications to reach 23 000 after they cut the number of staff working on the scheme by a quarter since December https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/mod-processes-only-two-of-3-000-refugee-applications-from-afghans-since-april-cjx6k96zv

Britain has a moral duty to help those Afghans who supported UK Forces in Afghanistan. But ministers have confirmed just 2 ARAP applications have been processed since April.

I've written to the Defence Secretary to ask why this scheme's been neglected and ground to a halt.

I would like to thank @lpoolcouncil for agreeing to light up council buildings tonight in honour of Windrush Day, when the first Caribbean citizens responded to the call to rebuild post-WW2 Britain, faced appalling racism while doing do, but contributed so much #WindrushDay2022
