Instead of showing humility, the Prime Minister said he wants to desperately cling to power into the 2030s. Once again, he chooses to put his own interessts before the British Public's.

Bang on from @AngelaRayner in today's #PMQs:

" this rate by 2030 a million more people will be using food banks. How many more people will be pushed into poverty by his Prime Minister before he says enough is enough?"

It's time this government got a grip!

The 2022 @theCCCuk progress report finds:

❌ Current government policies “will not deliver net zero”
❌ Only 8 of 50 key indicators on track, with 11 significantly off track
❌ No credible plans exist for 61% of required emissions cuts

The Conservatives are failing on climate.

This year, around 43,700 people were injured in the workplace in the UK. We all have a responsibility to take reasonable care so that others do not suffer injury.

This #IPWeek2022, please consider the reasonable adjustments we can all make to prevent avoidable injuries.

Always a proud moment for a writer as the cover of my new book “Harold Wilson: The Winner” is unveiled.

Looking forward to release on 1 Sept.

Here’s me with @IainDale on Wilson’s amazing life-from a modest background to youngest Cabinet Minister & PM.

When you see a red and white striped cane, that means the person has a hearing impairment as well as sight loss.

This #DeafBlindAwarenessWeek make sure you are #InTheKnow!

Only this Government could design a windfall tax on oil + gas firms which actually hands back £4bn.

Now it turns out that the giveaway applies to expensive, dangerous fracking too.

What a terrible use of public money during a cost of living crisis.

Businesses, agency worker bodies and working people don’t want the Tory Government to scrap the agency worker ban. It’ll be unworkable. So the Government now picks another unnecessary fight combining attacking Senedd law and eroding legal rights in Wales.

The Tories now face a credible Labour party: a government-in-waiting with a plan to deliver on the country’s demands.

We will not shy away from that responsibility, duck those challenges or fail to grasp the opportunities our country has.

I’m on Sunday Supplement duty at 8 on @BBCRadioWales . After another tough week for Tories @GlynDavies , @JoStevensLabour and Mike German for Lib Dems. Also discuss ageing rockers, G7 and top paper reviewers as usual.

Because our @WelshLabour Government reached a deal with rail workers, unions, and operators, Transport for Wales staff have not been on strike.

But our rail network is still in a state of chaos, because @BorisJohnson and @GrantShapps refuse to come to the table and do the same.

🧵I just want to say thank you.

Thank you for putting your trust in me to be your Member of Parliament.

This has been a historic result for Wakefield and for Labour, with a swing not seen for Labour since we were last in Government.

Day in, Day out, our Armed Forces work tirelessly at home and around the world to keep us safe.

Today, I would like to salute all those currently serving and our veterans for their outstanding service.

Today's devastating Supreme Court decision is a massive setback for women's rights in the United States of America.

The right of women to make their own decisions about their own bodies is a fundamental human right.

Make no mistake: Today's overruling of Roe v. Wade is the culmination of a deliberate effort over decades to upset the balance of our law.

It’s a realization of an extreme ideology and a tragic error by the Supreme Court.

Tomorrow, we will continue to fight — for our daughters and granddaughters, and for ourselves — until all women can decide our own futures once again.

For nearly 50 years, women have had the right to make our own decisions about our bodies.

Today, that right was stolen from us.

And while we may be devastated by this injustice, we will not be silent. We will not sit back as the progress we have already won slips away.

Across the country, states have already passed bills restricting choice. If you're looking for ways to respond, @PPFA, @USOWomen, and many other groups have been sounding the alarm on this issue for years—and will continue to be on the front lines of this fight.

Today, the Supreme Court not only reversed nearly 50 years of precedent, it relegated the most intensely personal decision someone can make to the whims of politicians and ideologues—attacking the essential freedoms of millions of Americans.

It was a pleasure to celebrate #RefugeeWeek at @OasisCDF's 'Restore' Photograph exhibition this afternoon.

The work is made by photographers who have lived experience of the asylum process and explores the concept of of new beginnings, new homes and new lives.

I am proud to see the Welsh Labour Government have invested £5 million to support 1,200 young people to start their own business.

This will help create a new culture of entrepreneurship among young people in Wales.

Wakefield’s win will go down in history, @SimonLightwood.

I’m so proud of our Labour Party and the changes we’ve made to be a government in waiting.

So proud of Wakefield’s new MP, the fantastic @simonlightwood.

This was @UKLabour’s biggest victory here since we were last in government.

This decisive result shows Labour is winning the trust of the British people, and firmly on the path to power.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed campaigning for @simonlightwood @UKLabour in #Wakefield I’d never been to the city before. Lovely people, lovely place, beautiful civic buildings and countryside. And this ⬇️ by @andrewteale about the city’s history is a great read.
